  1. Sucks to see you go man. You scared me more than anyone in CI and are one hell of a roleplayer. Good luck wherever you end up!
  2. There were many other valid reasons in this thread for this change to be suggested, lore was but one tiny facet of it. In case you need a reminder of these points: 999 is a job that, depending on how it is balanced, can completely effect the whole branch of medical's relevancy in the server. 999 is a job that, when players are playing on it, has a tendency to ignore rules for healing due to the nature of the job and how many players can access it. (Players want to be friendly & helpful so they heal without checking the player list for medical staff) 999 is a job that, when healing rules are broken on it, has a low risk at getting in trouble for it due to A: Players not wanting to report it due to benefiting from it, and B: Proof being difficult to obtain for it (mods cant check logs for healing)
  3. I like this idea a lot actually and think it could work; i'd like to see how this goes. +Support for restricting 999 from D block / D block hallway as a possible solution.
  4. +Support Oh god I didnt even know they had it still
  5. +Support Medical has been fighting with 999 for AGES and MOTD rules have not been enough of a measure to keep him in check. Players don't report him for healing when medbay staff are online, and proof is incredibly difficult to obtain for fail RP healing by 999 when people DO report him (which is exceedingly rare, as there's little incentive for players to report a person who's giving them healing). People who play on 999 usually don't care if medbay staff are on, they just heal because they want to be a friendly helpful blob. People who get healed by 999 usually don't care if medbay staff are on, they're just standing there and 999 decides to heal them, now they dont have to take a trip down to medbay and the mentality becomes "its not their fault 999 is fail healing, so why should they report it." I honestly just think it's time for the medkit to go. It's been nothing but a pain for medbay trying to compete with it. 999 Isn't even able to heal physical wounds in lore, so it's not like this would be a nonsensical change in RP. Why are people so afraid of having another RP-based Safe-class SCP? I believe people would still play on 999 even without the medkit-- he's one of the most influential and recognizeable SCP characters, and he can still do plenty of RP even without being able to heal. (For example, we could make him much more prevalent in efforts for recontaining 682, or helping researchers/medical with any sort of RP that involves needing to elevate mood / emotions in a subject.)
  6. - Support Buffing 999's healing ability back up is touchy because people will opt to have him over medical staff for healing, and we can't always trust everyone to be checking tab to make sure there's no med on. This is true especially when 999 is running around just spamming the medkit on everyone without a care of if med staff are online or not, and nobody is telling him to stop for one reason or another. (This happened a lot from what Ive been told / seen myself) While playing on 999, the impulse to use the medkit is there all the time, I know so myself, and we have to admit a lot of players of 999 will still try to heal even if medical staff are on, just because they want to be a friendly and helpful blob in RP. The nerf of purely making 999 healing inconvenient through a low heal amount has been the only thing we've seen have a real impact on this issue, despite all the rules that kept being put in place for 999 healing. This is why i worry that if the healing amount was buffed again, things might head back towards the original issue. Having played 999 recently myself, I can admit that healing people with the medkit is rather rough, and time-consuming-- but the way I see it, it's sort of a necessary evil. A LOT of players have access to 999 and we can't completely rely on just motd rules and self-regulation of players to keep the healing fair. 999 is a job that directly affects the traffic to medbay and the amount of RP that medbay players see, so it is something that needs to be controlled with more than just MOTD rules; hence the existing nerf. The way I see it, the best solution is probably further modifications to the halflife medkit SWEP used by 999. If it could be given a cooldown timer of some kind, this would probably balance a higher healing amount.

  9. Dang! Sad to see you go from doctor status, but very glad you'll still be around in utility as janitorial Sometimes things just gotta change! I hope this decision causes you to enjoy yourself on the server more.
  10. +/- Support There was indeed some semi-serious RP going on at the time, which had some silliness that ended up resulting in this situation. Hence my in-character foundation comms message about the arrest. I wasn't a witness personally to the physgun part or the uncuff part-- however, according to the evidence in this thread, the staff powers were still used inappropriately and someone took offense to it, which is justifiable. I don't agree with the use of admin powers in this situation, and do agree that the usage of admin powers in this way DOES need to be addressed-- However I also believe that if Mike is given the opportunity to learn from this without losing his staff rank, that he will certainly do better moving forward. From my recollection, Mike is not someone who has a history of minging with admin powers, and has proven his ability to work on staff in the past, so he may just need a very stern reminder to never do this again.
  11. +Support I think there was some unfortunate circumstances in the past, but I also think you have the capability to do what's right moving forward
  12. +Support I think this room would actually get used for RP if it had these props in it
  13. +support I almost never see anyone use this job or buy weapons from players on this job
  14. +Support there definitely needs to be some rules related to this
  15. best glitch Also some further details: The T Pose only happens when the character is walking or alt-walking with keys out
  16. +Support Does a good job in his MTF role(s) Has been trusted with an MTF command role Is serious about RP Is passionate about medical branch
  17. Hey all, It's been a fun ride, I enjoyed going shooty pew pew with you guys all around the facility and surface, but I feel like I need to focus more on my responsibilities as DDOU. I haven't really been able to apply the same level of passion to both branches, and I feel like there may be a more deserving member of the 1LT spot i'm taking. I really appreciate the chance I was given to be command in this branch, and I wish the remaining command the best of luck with running the Nine Tailed Fox. Giovanni - Awesome Leader, good at inspiring activity when needed. Jakub - Always entertaining hearing this guy at meetings Mike - Your true leadership skills show when you do work in this branch. I think you have more greatness to come. Thanks for everything!
  18. +/- Support I think I like Propane's version of this idea the most. MMF is supposed to be the elite janitorial staff that are responsible for the more dangerous parts of the facility such as EZ & HCZ, but not having them be able to help with 173 is obviously detrimental. I'd +Support letting them to into LCZ strictly to help with 173 breaches before returning to HCZ/EZ. As for full reign of the facility, we might have to discuss more what the implications of seeing MMF regularly in LCZ would be. I mean sure, they're functionally the same as regular janitors, but they also look a lot more like MTF and may cause some confusion during shootouts / escape attempts by D Class.
