Well. I'm sure some of you saw this coming. It is time for me to take my leave, I think. I've got too much planned to be worrying about running meetings and taking care of MTF in the way that it needs to be taken care of. GamingLight was the first gaming community I ever joined, for the most part. Sure, I've been in communities before, but I never really tried to be an active part of a community before. I always always the type of person to try and make my own space rather than join someone elses. I also never spent much time on RP servers. I found SCP-RP by accident. And for some reason. I kept coming back. I've been with this community since February and I've had quite the meteoric rise. I've met a lot of great people (and some not so great) and made a ton of close friends, so I'll always be grateful to GamingLight for that. But there comes a time when you've got to look forward and start doing your own thing. This community has propelled me into a different place and I'm ready to start that new journey. Anyway. This is a global resignation, effective immediately. I'm leaving the community. I knew this would one day come, but I wasn't sure when. But now feels like a good time to do it. It's bittersweet but, ya gotta head out sometime. Even typing this now, I'm starting to have second thoughts. But... It's my time. I've got to go. Shout outs... Sorry in advance if you're not listed here. I can't get to everyone and I wanna get this over and done with. Though I will be writing a lot here, lmao... So, in no particular order: To Security: My home branch, I always defended you tooth and nail. I never let anyone disparage or talk badly about Security without a fight. It was my ONLY branch and it was where I met most of my friends. Security was always the underdog in my eyes, the bullied younger brother. So I made sure we got what we deserved. I like to think I made a huge difference in the way Security is seen. My main goal when I got DHOS was to change Security's image for the better, improve our reputation, let people know that we were strong. And by the time I left Security, I think I certainly achieved that goal. To MTF: I haven't spent a lot of time as DoTF. And I know I wasn't your favorite or the greatest DoTF. And I admit I probably could've worked harder for you all. Site Admin just isn't the same as running a branch. You feel detached and kind've indifferent. It's WAY less work, that's for sure. Either way, I know MTF is in capable hands, and whoever gets DoTF this time will probably do a much better job than I ever did. SMT in general: Thank you guys for all the opportunities. From Senior Admin, to Forums Diplomat, and Site Administration. I always felt like you guys were pushing for me and recognized all the effort I put in for this server. Rangiatea: Out of all the SMT, I felt like you were one of my closer friends. From playing shitty RTS's to running around Micro'ing anything that moves. Sorry we haven't played anything in a while. My fellow Site Admin: Thanks for the support guys. Killaz, Cryolast, Alpha: Y'all probably won't read this, but, thanks for believing in me all those months ago to move me up as much as you did. You were the platform I stood upon to move forward. Though I don't talk to you guys as much anymore, I really appreciate you guys. To all the friends I made, both retired and not: Mini: My right hand man. Always backed me up. Partner in crime. Ape: Hammer man. Great guy, cares deeply. I'm glad you finally got the chance you deserved in security. Mind: Furry man. You're a good guy. I'm glad you no longer play on a plank of wood. Saiba: Extremely passionate, cares deeply for his friends. Anime protagonist. Poptarts: My daughter. You make me proud every day. Bael: My boy. Always down for whatever adventure he's presented with. High as fuck. Drip: D-Class main. Great fucking guy with great taste in music. Jack II: Annoying little shit, but I love ya buddy. You're a great kid and you fight hard for your friends. Sixx: Who the fuck let this guy be DHOS? jk, you're doing a great job, regardless of how much you annoyed me to death. I'm glad you finally got to chance to show everyone how good you are. Benito: You care about the server, sometimes to a fault. Try to calm down a little bit and I know you'll go far buddy. Carl Wheezer: My son. Love ya buddy. Creamey: The last of the Security HCMD gang. You're a great guy and I know you'll continue doing great things for my favorite branch. Cogs: You're a good guy, you just need some more confidence. I think you'll do well in your future endeavors. Jack Crest: A jack of all trades, in his prime. Burnt himself out, but does incredible work. Cornbread: The king of all brooms. Incredibly supportive. Inaccurate: You're NEVER getting DSD, bro. Jk, good luck buddy. Crabbo: I hate you. Surge: My #1 simp. Thanks for cheering me on. Blackbeard: Big homie. You gotta love this guy. Simply built DIFFERENT. MattO: Keep on moving up buddy. You're doing great work. Bread: Don't let other people's opinions affect you so much. You're good at what you do. Work on your attitude a lil bit tho lmao Zeus: You're a good guy, but I feel like you changed when you got HCMD. Try to be a little less serious sometimes. Kilo: Remember, this is a game at the end of the day. It's okay if things don't go your way. I'm sure you'll do fine, though, Idk what you're gonna do now that you can't PM me all the time. LMAO Zerk: Extreme minge, but you've shaped up a TON from when I first met you. Doing great work in Omi9. to anyone who spammed that video that was supposed to be a funny video between my friends and I until Sixx leaked it: fuck you lmao I made the fucking video you idiots I know it was a thing, stop showing me it like I don't know about it LMAO Thank you all so very much. It's been fun. Feel free to hit me up on discord if you wanna chat or see what I'm up to. Good luck all.

+Support I agree, when I saw the base I was disappointed that it didn't look like original teaser. Though lights / lamps are known to cause FPS issues so... idk.

Name: Sinnik Rank: Senior Event Team Date: 9/8/2020 - 9/22/2020 Reason: My work schedule is a nightmare once again, as such, I don't have the time to dedicate to filling quota, so unfortunately, I will have to take an LOA from it for a couple of weeks. I'm really hoping things go back to normal soon. If things are normal before then, I'll come off of LOA. I'll still be in-game and attending meetings as well.

According to the ban panel, you were warned yesterday and banned today since the staff member who warned you did not have the capability to ban you for the requisite time. You claim you have no idea why you were banned, but it definitely tells you the why you were banned when you attempt to log into the server. As you have not provided a defense or any sort of dispute, -support. Nevermind then, according to Starstep, apparently a mistake was made. +Support.

General Suggestion - Visual Flaregun - Denied
Sinnik replied to Disgraced Merchant's topic in Denied
+Support This could potentially add some cool immersion to the server, so long as it doesn't create lag. And hopefully it can't be used for combat. -
+Support Puts in the work. Extremely dedicated. Has been Senior Mod for plenty of time.
-
+Support As long as you don't ditch us again, I'm all for it. More seriously, this guy is incredibly well qualified. Let's put him back where he belongs.
-
^ yeah, as nice as it would be, unfortunately they have said it caused lag since it was checking for permission to display the name to EVERY player on the server, all those repeated checks can cause a ton of lag. At least, that was how it was explained.

Huh? RC expert? Do you mean RCF? RCF is no longer a thing, just so we're clear on that first. To clarify: The only time GenSec should be in HCZ is for escorts or for Wardens with permission from MTF first. If someone else is in HCZ "doing MTFs job" please let security command know. Otherwise, feel free to look at our GenSec SOP and our Wardens SOP if you have any further questions about our operations. Regardless, you can feel free to contact me or any of my command members directly if you have any questions that our SOP will not answer instead of making suggestions about it.

+support Looks good to me!

I heard that they're waiting for the map update to release it, since they're working on the base / spawn for the class.
-
Jojo for sure. also corey in the house best anime
-
+Support Yeah, I think they'd have to find a new swep for this one, but I'm sure it won't be too difficult to find a replacement.
-
However, I do think that perhaps, instead of an extra life, branches could perhaps reevaluate *when* their branch counts as a life. For example, if, say, gensec counted as a life at CPL instead of LCPL, or Nu7 counted as a life at LCPL maybe. I think that would allow people to get a taste for what that branch is like without having to worry about hitting their life limit.
-
-Support Regardless of how good an MTF suggestion is, I don't think we need another MTF branch. We have three and due to current branch numbers I think that is the absolute max we should have. Perhaps if this were replacing a branch, it could be considered?

Stop sniping D-Class in LDB "for holding weapons" - Denied
Sinnik replied to BadTimeInbound's topic in Denied
There is no hole in the MOTD. It's part of our SOP regardless. If SMT / Site Admin wanted it changed, they fully well could. Additionally, it is quite easy to put your weapons away while in LDB. Just take your keys out. Like everyone else is saying, it makes sense in RP. In the future, please do not use suggestions as a means to accuse Security of circumventing MOTD when we are doing no such thing. -
1. What is your in-game name?: Sinnik 2. What is your steam name?: [GL] Sinnik 3. What is your steam ID?: STEAM_0:1:22022353 4. Do you have any other experience with staffing?: (If yes, explain) Prior to joining this server, I was an owner of a long running Minecraft server which hosted over 40 people at it's peak. I also co-owned a gaming community with over 300 active users quite some time ago. I also was a moderator for a Gmod DarkRP server for a short amount of time. Other than that, I've been a staff member of GamingLight for about six months. 5. What date did you start playing on the community? (roughly) February 14th. 6. What date did you make your forums account? February 22nd. 7. Current rank on server (This is a ULX rank ONLY! Not a RP Rank)? Event Admin. 8. How many warns do you have on the server (Show proof with a screenshot)? Zero. 9. Have you donated? Yes. 10. What rank are you applying for? Senior Admin 11. Are you staff on another community (BE HONEST)? I am not. 12. Have you read the staff guidelines at? You will be tested on it: Yes, of course. 13. Timezone: Eastern Standard Time 14. Permission (Senior Moderator+ need this): Igneous, Rangiatea, Rookieblue, Catsro, Gamikzone, Calamity 15. Why do you believe that you deserve the rank? (150 Word Minimum) I believe that I am qualified and ready for the rank of Senior Admin. I am extremely dedicated to this server, and serving this community as a whole. I care for this community a great deal, which is why I have taken up various positions of staff and command in order to make a difference here. As you may know already, I am an Admin, a Senior Event Team member, a branch leader, and most recently, a Forums Diplomat. I have real life management and customer service experience, so I am well-versed in dealing with interpersonal matters, which is what makes me an excellent member of staff in my opinion. I handle every situation with professionalism and I make sure to evaluate all sides of the issue before making any judgement. I am known for being unbiased, making sure to keep my personal opinions out of any issues I have been charged with resolving. I also do my best to guide and assist fellow members of staff, answering any questions they may have. Additionally, I always make myself available to be messaged by any member of the community who needs help, whether it be helping people to work on staff applications, running people through the Custom Class purchasing process, or just general role-play questions. 16. How would you handle someone that is Mass RDMing and when you bring him/her to an admin sit all they do is curse at you? Firstly, I would bring the person who initiated the report, and get a full situation report from them. I would then check !blogs. After confirming that they did indeed commit mass RDM, I would pull the person being accused. After bringing them to the sit, I would ask that they please calm down while I handle the issue, and I would be sure to freeze them with my phys-gun just in case they try to RDM while in sit. If they refused to calm down, I would inform them that if they continue, they would receive a gag and a warning for Staff Disrespect. I would then inform them that I have confirmed that they have indeed broken the rules, and that they will be receiving a formal warn as well as a five day ban for Mass RDM. Additionally, if they left in the middle of the sit, as people tend to do, I would check logs to see if they disconnected by user, and if they did, I would extend their ban by 3 days for LTAP. Q1: You are involved in a staff sit that involves 5 different players. The players begin to get frustrated and the sit becomes very toxic and unproductive. What would you do in this situation? Upon beginning the sit, I would inform all five players that I need to handle this sit, and since it involves so many people, I need to handle it carefully, therefore if they cannot calm down so we can be productive, I would be forced to separate them and handle the issue one-by-one. If they continued to be unhelpful and toxic, I would either gag them or just remove them from the sit temporarily in order to progress. Q2: In your opinion, what is the best way to handle a situation involving a player that clearly does not care about the punishments they are receiving? In my time as staff, I have run into many people that fall under this category. Most people who break big rules clearly do not care about the rules or community as a whole whatsoever, as they most likely only got on the server to minge. In my opinion, the best way to handle them is to just be as clear as possible with them on the rules they have broken. Regardless of their feelings on it, they would still receive the punishments as per usual. As long as it's indifference and not disrespect, the sit can carry on as usual. Q3: There is a player abusing a known bug, and he has been reported to staff. He swears he followed the server rules when you talk with him. What's the best way to handle this? Firstly, I would confirm the evidence supplied by the person who initially called the sit. I would then inform the rule breaker that regardless of what they think they did, they did indeed abuse a known bug. If necessary, I would show them the video given to me and explain to them exactly what bug they abused. Finally, I would issue a warning for glitch / bug abuse. Depending on the severity of the bug, I may have to escalate the issue further and ask SMT if this requires a ban or not, since bug abuse is not listed in the staff handbook specifically.

Add Keypad to the High Command Offices in LCZ - Accepted
Sinnik replied to Your Local Soviet's topic in Accepted
+SUPPORT YES PLS!!! (though I think this may need a map update since I don't think the regular doors can have a keypad attached? Not sure though) -
+Support Jack S is a good member of security, should be a good member of ET.
