Nerf/change the Nu7 explosive specialist launcher - Denied

Comrade Boekhom

Recommended Posts

What are you suggesting? -  Nerf the reload speed or change the grenade launcher back to the 1 shot, genuinely it is a op launcher

How would this change better the server? -  Raids not being instantly destroyed by 6 grenades to the face

Are there any disadvantages of making this change to the server? If so, explain. -  Less explosions?

Who would this change mostly benefit? -  CI/Sarkic/Any combatants against mtf

Please link any workshop content, screenshots, or anything that you think may be helpful to those who view this suggestion - N/A

How about CI removes Trap expert and Mtf Removes Explosive Specialist........................................ Sounds like a better plan to me. (Leave demo-expert as its a donator job, cant remove that sadly)

Rather go back to guns only combat than the shit we have now, Explosives have only caused the server/staff issues and while they can be fun to use from time to time those classes are heavily situational.

CI Command Would be good with removing Trap Expert but i doubt foundation/mtf will.

+Support since Omi9 got their explosive job back now CI has to put up with 2 new job slots with explosive weaponry, CI HCMD was fine with Nu7 buffing their explosive job as they had just lost e11/omi9 explosive jobs but now it feels like CI just got a good old slap to the face with the return of the omi9 explosive job. (The argument that Nu7's new load out on explosive specialist inst a buff is ridiculous, having multiple shots on a grenade launcher is better than 1, end of story)

A single person with a grenade launcher shouldn't be able to stop an entire CI raid, this ruins CI fun. I believe the grenade launcher should only have 1-2 shots in it at MAX.

It would solve the problem of no one being on to train for it lol. The rules on this are so strict that it'll just be easier to get rid of the classes. Grenades should be the main explosives used.

I belive talking to the Branch leader before making suggestions like those would be better and I think that was already mentioned multiples times in other suggestions.

But for nerfing the EX41 itself, the person playing Nu-7 Explosive specialist he should be waiting 3 second between each shot as stated in the SOP and if he dosent do so then report him to the respective Nu-7 cmd member. The class itself is not that tanky and is able to be taken out quite fast if the opposing party does their job properly. The Nu-7 ES is at the State it is at the moment because Omi-9 and E11 lost their explosive based jobs and we removed most of the explosives on the job to implement that weapon. And lastly a very select few people have access to the job so it is rare that 2 are on.

That behing said I will leave a -support on this.

Omi 9 having theirs back has made this a bit of a problem. Would've liked to be talked to before this. We removed all our explosives on the class initially including the c4 for the 3 shots. I don't think it needs to have it's ammo removed. Could increase the timer between shots or remove Omi 9 explosives specialist like it was meant to before. Or go back to the C4 perhaps but no one used it. If the ammo gets nerfed I request an allowance to change the class then because it will end up becoming terrible.

Staff/Players cant sit there in combat counting 3 seconds in case the nu7 breaks SOP, This is something that should be implemented into the weapon its self by slowing down reload speed to 3 seconds..? This is a logical fix and very easy to implement.

Haven't we just all talked and agreed upon talking to Branch leads BEFORE making suggestion to change their branch? I am going to have to -Support this because this isn't exactly something we should be discussing over the forums. Rather something you bring to branch leads for them to make the decision themself. If they say no and you feel thats unfair then contact SA. Don't try to change a branch's job without talking to HCMD or SA first.

Let's try to be civil here and not post stuff on the forums without coming to an easy compromise that could be discussed with High Command. I'm gonna be real honest here and we all know this. Bread and MattO are very reasonable people. Talk to them, discuss this with them as this is something they can EASILY fix without having to involve SMT.

Yes the class can be powerful but simple nerf to its number one weapon is a no-go. Maybe simply lowering the HP /AP or having more strict rules would be better but nerfing it's number one toy is not a good option.  It would make the class not playable or fun to use.

We don't even really stop raids all the time either. Its really easy to combat explosives by just spreading out and avoiding the blast/getting out of tight spaces as well as people not rushing into battle but instead playing a support role.

I am not even in Nu7 anymore but when i was in the branch and used ES It wasn't that op
Even if you say Oh you can stop a raid when you shoot 3 shoots in a doorway it only kills 2-3 [sometimes more]
But it is ci fault for going in a group if you don't want to get bombed.

Idea for CI
Make  SF/Heavys/delta go in first and everyone to back off so they can take all of the shots then all rush in its the easiest way to get past a ES If you get in a ES Face he can't shoot you with GL and they don't have shotguns

I like the idea of coltable, the explosives such as the grenade launcher or the c4 are too many broken, but in such a case that they cannot be removed, I consider that the job should serve more defense than for offense, using more slam to defend the base , in case of ci or defend a certain sector of the foundation. In addition to having more grenades (around 4 or 5) and smokes, flash, etc..

Terrible way to go about it, if you have any concerns speak to high command and not straight to the forums. We have very strict regulations for Explosives Specialists, it's very simple to just capture a recording of the event, check back with the recording in order to ensure that the Explosive Specialist respected the 3 second rule, if not then bring it up with Nu-7 command and they'll deal with that person. You must be trusted and recommended by senior command+ in order to apply for the job in the first place, and then they may or may not pass the application portion. All current explosives specialists are aware they may face removal if they don't uphold the restrictions of the class itself.
