Primarily dispatch, but later plans for all Government Links to any content – See Below A CAD system has been researched and planned for the Dispatch team for a significant amount of time. We’ve also tested out various web based systems as well, and we discovered that a web based system would be the most practical. This CAD system would allow for better tracking of the various government jobs, ensure that the proper units are assigned to the various calls throughout the server, and significantly increase RP for the dispatch branch. The initial plan is to develop and implement a CAD system for the Dispatch Branch first to prove that it works, and later start to roll it out to branches to better improve all RP across the server. We have three proposed systems that we believe would be beneficial for our purposes. We would need to work with the developers to customize the system a bit more to work for our purposes, however we believe the end would be well worth the effort. 1. https://opencad.io/ Pro: - Clean UI (did a dry run with this and it worked nicely) - Free Con: - Requires a website to host it on 2. https://saucecad.com/mdt/login Pros: - Free - Simple UI Cons: - Ads are on the page and they are SKETCH (but can be paid to be removed) 3. Develop our own system Pros: - Fetch DarkRP job table (either once a few minutes or with a button on the cad to reduce lag) - Grab the player names and jobs from the government team and send to website - Website makes table with jobs and splits PD and TAC - Ability for units to select their status (10-6, 10-8, etc) - Ability to select various incidents types - Panic button mode (single button, will automatically sets all units 10-07 with a status of 10-76 to panic) - Easy to code server addon - Custom to the community Cons - Difficult to make the UI look visually pleasing - Will take significant work to create and develop the system - Website needs to be hosted on a Gaminglight web server Why do we need to build our own? With most CAD systems being built for other games, they are really heavily dependent on PD cooperation. If PD doesn’t use it, the whole system fails. I've used a CAD in an ARMA 3 community I ran and it worked out great. I agree that it will take time to train everyone and that is why I thought we could have a small server side script that auto populates the cad with everyone on the gov job so they do not have to join themselves. The reason I am on the fence about this is because the CAD's you mentioned atleast I know sauce cad dose you need a Gmail or an email of any sort which some people don't have. I also have a - support for sauce cad as if lets say the dispatchers login gets stolen they can change any PD units or TAC units info. +Support If a dispatcher was over ran a dispatcher who didn't want to get on job could quickly handle the certain situation there on and code 4 it or so on.
