-support only six months ago you alted which is pretty much a guarantee to keep the ban, should've waited out the punishment plenty of fun people to hang around on GL who aren't getting banned for these reasons/ban evading
-
No + or - support but if you have no evidence I think you will have a hard time getting unbanned. This ban is super short, is it really worth making an appeal for? There's a chance SMT might not even see this until your ban time is already expired. This section is mainly used for longer-term bans. To me at least, this seems more like something worth making a staff report over, rather than a ban appeal.
-
Small +support (read below) I'm really mixed on this ban appeal. I knew the context before Crunch had posted this above, but if any random person was reading this ban appeal it would come off like you didn't really do anything that bad. You intentionally became a total nuisance to the entire server (forums included) and were posting a clip that you knew you would get in trouble for. You really shouldn't be shocked by this outcome if it ends up sticking. It has been a little while, although I think you should've waited longer before making an appeal. The only real reason I'm putting a small +support here is because I think a permanent ban is a bit much. You linked the clip in multiple places, but I do not believe your direct intention through posting the clips was to be racist. As said before, you still knew what you were doing which doesn't really help your case. If you end up getting your perma ban removed, I still think you should be banned for a while longer before being allowed to return.

I agree with you in a certain sense, but this would be a lot of work for something so minuscule; and with the new map coming I think it would be better to hold off on this. -support for now

If you want the warn to be gone, argue your case following the format for false warning appeal in the report center section. I’ll say this: I agree with you, I have no clue why people think that others new to the server would know that trying to break out of cuffs is FailRP in any sense. I’m pretty sure it’s not specifically stated in the rules anywhere in the first place (someone can correct me if I’m wrong). It’s not “common sense” to know that you wouldn’t be able to break out of cuffs if the add-on literally allows it, which is a pretty persistent problem across a lot of gmod servers, not just GL. Of course, sometimes the best addon must be chosen as I’m sure creating one specifically for the server would be very time-consuming. As a result of that however, there should be a SPECIFIC rule stating whether you can break out of them or not. On Joker’s side, it seems you were being blatantly disrespectful, but it’s really hard to see how you two were actually interacting with each other without any video evidence.

MASSIVE +SUPPORT The electroweapons have never even been that powerful against Jedi in the first place. I can't think of a battalion more deserving of weapon buffs than Purge. The hit reg of electroweapons makes them difficult to use, definitely should deal massive damage for any strike they blow.

+support good app, good person, hot

+support BUT This has to be implemented carefully. It has to be noted that people can always find a way to get explicit content through on a media player, and given GL has some pretty young members, this could be cause for concern. I agree with @BloodyFork. Either a paywall or perhaps you can get this unlocked once you’re a certain rank in a battalion, or some sort of trusted system. This definitely should not be available to all players.

77… I’m all for second chances, but this is a ridiculous amount of warns. Some questions: What is a “very long time,” how many years? What is the content of the warns? What did you do that was unacceptable? How did it get so bad that Zeeptin himself had to ban you? This all just looks very bad, and without any further context I have to -support this.

10/17/2022 - Update Log - Base map sneak peek
Firekirby replied to Beckett's topic in Server Updates
Ooooh I like the look of that already. Kinda gives me Fallen Order vibes. -
Good to see another NLR suggestion going up.
-
Okay, so this suggestion is very likely gonna get denied and I understand where you guys are coming from, probably not a good idea, but I do wanna state this: There's a high likelihood for ideas to continue being taken from command officers in the future and credit not being given where credit is due, and something has to be done about it. Even if a question like "who in your battalion came up with this change?" was put into the battalion update format, I believe it would help a lot. As I said prior, this has happened within my battalion and I highly doubt this will be the last time it happens. A current problem is routing things up the chain puts you at risk for losing credit for an idea/change and there needs to be a way that prevents this from happening. Thanks to those who left more than a couple words of feedback regardless of your stance, your lack of disdain is appreciated!

The problem is that if someone becomes complacent in that position an entire battalion can die off or greatly drop in numbers. Commanders should certainly lead their battalion in change, but the reality is that this isn’t always the case. At the bare minimum, VCMDRs should be able to submit battalion updates, but I feel like anyone who has reached the command officer position may know the battalion as well as anyone else in it. In my opinion it’s just silly to only have ONE person in a battalion who can suggest a battalion update. While I think an important part of being a Commander is leading change, I feel like the more important aspect is making executive decisions about those within the battalion and being a shining example of your regiment. Just my thoughts.
-
@BloodyFork I can see where you’re coming from on your points. However, I do think it’s worth mentioning most battalions don’t have that many MAJ+ in the first place, usually max of 5 or so and right now on most rosters is 1-2. In addition to this, not every MAJ+ would be trying to make battalion updates 24/7 anyway. It takes a lot of work to get after one. A problem with suggesting upwards, especially in a command officer position, is that the credit for original ideas is vastly undermined and taken by the person who submits the battalion change themselves. One of my friends from DT discussed how this happened to him and nothing was done about it.

What do you want to see?: I want to see a rank requirement change needed to suggest a battalion update to command officer (MAJ+ and equivalents). Why should we add it?: I noticed on my time on the server that the rank requirement needed to make a change to the battalion is unnecessarily high. While a Commander should lead the direction of the battalion, the reality is some Commanders become complacent for far too long and don't actually do much for the battalion (saw this from multiple battalions). By the time you're in a command officer position, you know enough about your battalion to suggest significant changes (even as a transfer, you'll still know how battalions on the server operate in general). Giving the option for command officers+ to suggest battalion-wide changes can serve as a good gauge for who is actually suggesting and coming up with long-term changes, and can help determine a future VCMDR/CMDR, without overwhelming the forums due to only a handful of people being MAJ+ in that respective regiment anyway. If the ideas put out by that command officer aren't liked, then of course people in that battalion can just voice their -support on the forums. Anyone on the server can already indirectly influence their battalion by suggesting changes to specific weapons, tools, or HP, so why shouldn't the higher-up officers be allowed to suggest battalion updates? Limiting battalion updates to strictly the Commander can also prevent possible good updates from getting through just because the Commander alone does not like the idea. Let the people decide! What are the advantages of having this?: This would provide needed changes for a battalion in a quicker amount of time by increasing the amount of people who have access to suggest a battalion update, as well as show who is working hard to get things done for their battalion in general. Who is it mainly for?: Anyone in a battalion. Links to any content: N/A

-support I think you have good intentions, but I must -support this application. This app seems very rushed and, grammatically, needs a lot of work. I’m not a super big stickler with this stuff, but I can tell you didn’t look back over it. When it comes to the actual material, it’s genuinely hard to see with this app how you stand out or if you understand what the true expectations of a NCO are. You have a good attitude and seem ready to help, but you don’t seem to necessarily understand the NCO position within DT.

I -support the above -support. MASSIVE +SUPPORT Bub is one of the few people who actually link HC to the rest of the players. Bub is, in my opinion, the MOST trustable HC member and makes sure that all players are having a good time. At least when I was on the server, he was also the most active HC member. While he may not be making changes you can find on the forums or documents, the dude provides more guidance than anyone else in HC and clearly has impacted the server in massive ways with his kindness, suggestions, and leadership. He deserves this position more than any other applicant. No disrespect meant here, but I feel like HC often forget to talk to the rest of the playerbase and kind of stick amongst themselves in an "inner circle," but Bub completely defies this pattern and communicates often to everyone. An absolutely lovable guy and 100% the best pick for this position.

-Support Due to multiple bad experiences and interactions, I have to say my -support for this app. I will go over some specific examples here. #1- Slow response times, lack of communication. When I was part of the GM team I came to you with an off-map plan. I believe at that current time Azrael was away so I had come to you with the document. I received no response on discord for a long stretch of time, so I had to contact you through TS. I tried poking you but no response, despite the fact that I knew you were indeed not AFK. Only when I caught you in DT's channel could I actually ask you about my off-map plan. At that point, you said you'd "take a look at it," so I was expecting an approval or denial of the off-map plan shortly. Unfortunately you went on to do other things and didn't communicate with me, so I was left in the dust. I had to contact you two to three more times before you finally gave me the approval for the off-map. In addition to this, I have heard from multiple other DT in staff that you are slow to respond to messages or fully answer a question that they have. (never got a discord response) #2- Accusatory statements, lies. In my last month of DT there was a massive event being hosted on Tatooine, and there were at least 10 DT attending including myself. This event had over 100 people on at once, and it was extremely chaotic. Due to battle-spacing, people began to get blown up, including DT who were attempting to guard their VIP. After the event, I proceeded to communicate with Chief/II7 and we brought you in DT Command Office to talk about this situation. This conversation somehow got swayed, and the topic switched to you not being guarded on the ground and that DT were purposefully not guarding AHC/IQHC (IQHC was guarded already) and that it would be brought up in the next meeting. I called you out on this because you were the one blowing us up when we were guarding our VIP and being a GM for a majority of the event. I got you to admit you were barely on Tatooine at all, you even said yourself you were only there for 10-ish minutes. You essentially lied and said you were present during the event when you weren't. In regards to purposefully not guarding AHC/IQHC, this isn't true in the slightest and I was commanding DT at the time of this mission. We prioritize NHC, and Racc was on for the mission whilst Starch was extremely hard to find. The playercount was 100+, so I just assigned DT to stay on Racc for most of the event. Not once during the event did the intent to disregard guarding AHC/IQHC cross our minds, it was a bogus accusation. (TL;DR Got accused of not guarding AHC (Kio/Starch) by Kio when he wasn't even present for the event in his role in an 100+ player event where guarding is extremely difficult) #3- Overall negative attitude. I never saw you really congratulating people for achieving something on the server and it seems like you just have had a lot of other bad interactions on GL with other people which isn't good for someone in a HC position. #4- Better fits for this position. Self-explanatory. I'm not saying you can't change, but I never saw drastic improvement in these areas over my time on the server. Admittedly, I am afraid many people will be reluctant to speak their opinions due to your high position on the server. I know I was whenever I wanted to -support someone's app in HC. If anyone on this forum has something to be said though, I suggest saying it for the sake of who you want as High General.
