We decided to go with this play style as it promotes more dclass to work together rather than 1v1 gensec, this is the design both Site 05 and Site 10 used in all our map updates previously. In regards to the lines, the reason we like those over a huge line is exactly the player blocking mechanic, it allows for a cooling off period if the player in front of you actually wants to roleplay well you just have to wait your turn and interact with other dclass/gensec giving dblock more of an atmosphere.
As for the dblock corner we honestly only removed that as I wanted to give gensec those cells as rooms where they could place dclass in holding for mtf/scps but it looks disgusting trying to keep the corner not blocked off so overall we went with just giving it to gensec and making it more “flushed” with the design.
I almost forget to mention, that line on the fair side is not for dclass that is a “Drop off point” for researchers/gensec/mtf who are dropping back dclass into dblock. The reason the kos line is so far forward is exactly bc dclass aren’t meant to go in there.
I’d suggest teaming up with a buddy in dblock and both of you enter either line up then select a gensec target before rushing. This is how it used to be when I was dclass main and I found it quite enjoyable and more fair for gensec/realistic.
