Dblock Suggestion - Add 2 seperate routes that lead straight from lower dblock into dclass lounge and mines respectively - Denied

What are you suggesting? - Add 2 seperate routes that lead straight from lower dblock into dclass lounge and mines respectively

How would this change better the server? - The routes can be stairs, elevators, escalators, trolley, etc. As to how these 2 routes would benefit the server, it would allow for more options during dblock riots and allow for dclass who want to gamble/mine during partials to do so. As context for the previous sentence, partials stay on for well over 40 min fairly often. The addition of this would give dclass and new players the option to enjoy what little amenities that are given for dclass as well as making dblock riots more interesting for both sides. Dclass get the benefit of not having to fight their way up the elevator when 10 gensec/mtf are throwing nades and holding LMB with LMGs and gensec/mtf get the benefit of more fluid riots that make things more interesting than sitting and looking at the elevator. I dont see this taking any advantage away from gensec/mtf, they still have their barricades, tower, catwalks, and dblock intersection, so I consider this a win-win.

Are there any disadvantages of making this change to the server? If so, explain. - Realistically the stairs and elevator are the only available mediums to get to lounge/mines from lower, so disadvantage is no trolleys :(. Also SMT having to edit the map among other things.

Who would this change mostly benefit? - Everyone who spends time in dblock

Please link any workshop content, screenshots, or anything that you think may be helpful to those who view this suggestion -N/A

The only issue I see that might happen with this is the issue of people running into lower D-Block to avoid getting killed (an OOC zone), otherwise, I see literally 0 negatives to this.

I think that adding the ability for D-Class to go to mines and the lounge during partial is a good idea. I don't like the idea of D-Class running up there to go fight Security from those locations.

I would be ok with this update if the doors in Upper D-Block that connect the lounge and mines were made into level 1 doors. The second door could remain a normal level 0 door but the first door would be made a level 1. This would be manually opened during normal D-Block protocols but during Partial Lockdown it would be shut and therefor locked to D-Class. D-Class with a keycard cracker could still hack it open though.

Other than that one concern good suggestion.

I agree with another route being added that leads to the Mines/D-Class Lounge as currently D-Block is just a D-Class grinder and this could help D-Class have a lil more fun rioting and punishes GenSec form hardcore camping the elevator. However, it should remain that the elevator is the fastest route into Upper D-Block so this route would have to be long or jumps or something. However I think only 1 additional route should be added and it should lead to the mines, so for people who just want to mine their heart out can and D-Class who want to riot dont have to enter the blender that is the elevator.

My issue with doors requiring keycard access in dclass areas leading to other dclass areas is how it gives Gensec/MTF control of areas where dclass gameplay is oriented. Anything that is past the red line or leading to a restricted area is fair game. If Gensec wish to take control of what is essentially dclass area, it should be done so in a manner similar to a raid. Dclass may be prisoners that are to be contained, but putting keycard reqs on doors leading to and from dclass areas that are their center of gameplay would be like MTF being able to lock CI out of their rdm arena for short durations (even though they kill each other anywhere) not a complete denial of the area, but an unnecessary hinderance. To add on, I can easily see this being abused and used, when not on partial, to deny dclass a fast route to an area that is essential for their gameplay. However, if there were to be the implementation of something similar to a full lockdown on the old map, where very particular variables must be met and someone of high enough rank had to implement said lockdown, then I would be fine with it. Just keep in mind that these prerequisites weren't as simple as "dclass rioting" and were actually extremely specific and not easily met.

I understand your point about D-Class having area's they control and Security needing to fight them off to gain control of an area.

The issue is that the only areas where this happens is the lounge or mines. Both the Lounge and Mines are supposed to be largely OOC areas. The mines are for money farming and the lounge is for gambling. When D-Class use them to fight or to run away and hide into, it breaks the fight.

On site-50, D-Class could only flee by jumping or taking the elevator down into lower D-Block. That was fine as Lower D-Block was not an OOC area. Now that all their main area's are OOC its hard for them to fight the same way and puts their options very low. So they end up abusing the Lounge and Mines OOC status and using them to attack Security.

The point of the Lounge and Mines being OOC might come as a shock as most people don't know about that. When the map was made the mines were OOC and the Lounge was in-RP. Since the addition of the gambling machines that status has changed a bit to be much more vague.

My final point is that if a method for D-Class to gain access to these area's outside the elevator and walking through upper D-Block is provided Security will need something to compensate as well.

Tbf D class has 0 other ways to combat gensec. Dblock is entirely one sided and even after getting past the main part they still have to deal with D5/E11 or other jobs camping dblock because theres nothing better to do. And if these areas are supposed OOC then why do I see people get gunned down in them during partial even if they are just gambling. Typically Dblock is only lost when the majority of the people in dblock have poor positioning and/or aim. And if there is Special forces or a Z6 in dblock it can be nigh impossible.
