Cintal Posted November 11, 2021 Share Posted November 11, 2021 Post name: Make changes to Dr. Thaddeus Xyank What are you suggesting? - well...make changes to Dr. Thaddeus Xyank How would this change better the server? - Dr. Thaddeus Xyank is a level 100+ only researcher with a level 4 keycard, yet is only a JR researcher unless you have a rank in research. This is bad for 2 main reasons. 1: Grinding to level 100 only to be a JR researcher is pretty useless, and doesn't benefit any level 100+ players in the game. 2: Dr. Bright, a job that can be unlocked at gold (which is fairly cheap) , is considered (from what I heard) a SR and can test on safe-euclid SCPs. There is no reward for getting to level 100 to play as Dr. Thaddeus Xyank. Not to mention that it is just ridiculous to give a JR a level 4 keycard. I suggest making Dr TX at least a ER. I might be misunderstanding a few things about the job, but at least admin I'm right about a few things. Are there any disadvantages of making this change to the server? recon Posted November 11, 2021 Share Posted November 11, 2021 (edited) + Support This is more for research HCMD to deal with but I believe that its crazy that Thaddeus can only test on JR stuff he should be able to test on Safe/Euclid/Keter EXCLUDING 106 imo. It's a lvl 100 job, most people who get on it won't do mingy test. @Moonrose Thoughts? I would ping Glados and Light but I can't find light and GLaDOS is JMT. Though, Bright is allowed to test on Safe/Euclid which, to be fair, JR's have most access to. Thaddeus should get similar allowances. Nydekore Posted November 11, 2021 Share Posted November 11, 2021 (edited) For clarity Dr Bright isn’t really considered an SR for anything but testing (even then not really as it’s only Euclids and Safes while SRs have some Keters). Moonrose Posted November 11, 2021 Share Posted November 11, 2021 I can understand Euclid class SCP testing in HCZ, but its gonna be a hard no on keter classes, because whats the point in someone ranking up in the branch when they can just get on the LVL 100 Job and test on everything a LR can test on then people wont see the point in working hard to get to the high rank in research and earn there ways to test on higher lvl SCPs. it would also cause people to just drop out of research because nothing to achieve for in the branch if they could just get access to it by no even having to be in the branch. The only issue I have with this is if Thaddeus was able to test on everything except 106 then what would be the point of joining research? I think Thaddeus testing on Euclid SCPs is fine and if you're in Research and have that capability to test on a Keter then you may. Also what Moonrose said is perfect what would be the point of getting up to a high rank in Research if all you need is Level 100 to test on basically everything. Its like saying "whats the point of joining Nu7 when you can get VIP and play as enforcer". See, what you think is a perk and what is a way of receiving said perk is backwards. Trainings and mass tests are how you get lowered restrictions because that’s how we know who’s active and looking to help the branch. Level 100 players have done nothing for research directly, why should we give them the same roleplay permissions as our Senior Command?
