    5208 Update

    What do you want to see? - An update to the toy soldier SCP-5208 now currently in the game. They should have a weapon buff, as well as having keys and physguns. Why should we add it? - The gun update is due to an event that happened particularly while I was 5208 with a full squad of them. One man alone was able to wipe out essentially our whole squad with a scythe while we all unloaded clips into him. I feel the weapons should be buffed to make 5208 a little more dangerous than that. The keys would be so that 5208 can change their colors without having to use the surrender feature or die. It's pretty annoying. Finally, the Physgun came from a little idea of mine. If they're toy soldiers, wouldn't they be capable of using small objects to build forts? I say allow a Phys gun so that toy soldiers can set up a fort in some room of the HCZ made from stuff like takeout boxes and newspapers. It'd be pretty fun. What are the advantages of having this? - The gun update would make 5208 more dangerous than they really are- I feel if one dude with a melee weapon can take clips upon clips of ammunition from all five 5208 and still wipe them all out, they're not really a lethal SCP. Not that much, anyway. The keys I just feel should already be a thing. After all, it's already a rule for 5208 to have their swep out at all times, so it can just be an enforced rule like everything else. Finally, like mentioned earlier, the physgun would just be for fun little fort building. Obviously no stuff like doors or barricades. Who is it mainly for? - SCP-5208. Links to any content - N/A

  5. I see that being understandable, but couldn't that kind of event be applied to any custom job? I feel an MTF job could also have someone feeling as though they can't be punished. Could Research CC's be added back, but with an additional cost or something given the potential clearance and whatnot? There could also be rank limitations applied so that only people of a certain rank already within the Research branch can apply for that custom job. I understand if that can't be done, I'm just bummed the entire possibility of a Research CC is ruined because one person decided to minge on it.

So, I plan on getting a custom job in the far off future and have some questions concerning them after doing some research. 1) I noticed that the additional cost pays for the job to be CI/MTF/Security. I couldn't find any information on research jobs. Does this mean you're unable to have a research position as a custom job? 2) Concerning the player model, let's say I can't find what I'm aiming for in the workshop. Is there a way to just request that an already existing player model on the server be recolored, or if I could get advice on how to do that myself?

  14. (Wow look an inspired short story by the event today) Yeah, it couldn't be helped. Juno leaned against the wall of the firing range, zoned in on his standard-issue pistol as the sounds of chaotic screaming and shooting sounded off in the hallways. His body was covered in sweat, a sweat worked up from running back and forth trying to make sense of whatever had been happening to the facility, let alone the world. His hand no longer trembled as it did the first time the lights shorted out, despite the groans of ungodly mutant creatures just outside the doors. A voice came over the broadcast, heavy and pained in nature. All Juno heard was the desperate rallying of a hopeless man, but the last words did get to him. "Your final order: Neutralize all SCPs. A world ruled by them cannot happen." Juno had never really been the warmongering time. He wasn't a soldier who was trained to elite standards of accuracy. He wasn't a brave man who could stare larry in the eyes and not even flinch. He wasn't a lot of things, which would probably end up leading to his death in the end. Then again, in a world that had fallen to anarchy, anything went. He wasn't many things... a man who gave a shit was currently the top of the list. World's a fuck. His medicine was wearing off. That was nice. 'Omni... Omni... Omni...' Juno moved over towards the gun rack, smashing the glass open and taking two magnums from their places. "You all truly don't shut up, do you?" He took off the hazmat suit that he wore, leaving his lab coat and a gas-mask. After all, if he was truly to die, it didn't matter if he got some radiation poisoning. His labcoat trailed behind him a bit as he walked towards the door, loading the clips of his sidearms. He wasn't sure what was going on near the surface, but he could take a wild guess and say they weren't having nearly as much fun as he was going to have. Bang. A dent in the door. Bang. It cracked a bit. Bang. Juno got down on a knee as a mutant barreled through the door, the barrel of his magnum slamming up towards the neck. A shot rang out and ricocheted in the walls, Juno shoving the mutant aside as he unloaded into the flurry of them attempting to rush into the room. The recoil wasn't something the researcher expected, but damn was it fun once he got the hang of it. Covered in mutant blood, he stepped out of the room, aiming the magnums down the hall as more mutants seemed to come out of the woodwork. Shot after shot, they never stopped coming. Just more bullets I get to fire. A voice rang in the back of his head. 'Behind you, Omni.' Juno lurched his arm backward, pivoting in his stance to face the wall as he caught a mutant in the jaw with a round, firing in both directions. He was running out of ammo. It didn't matter. It couldn't be helped. He watched as some of the others coming for him were gunned down, a crowd of survivors beginning to conjoin in the hallway. Juno stared at this for a second, watching this group of delusional people get together for what felt like a final shootout. What they did wasn't important. It didn't matter. They'd all die. It was so beautiful. Born to die. Juno moved up, walking alongside them as he reloaded his last clip. Hordes of mutants charged down the hallway, facing a hail of gunfire from all sorts of delusional people. Researchers, MTF, Gensec, janitors, D-Class... it didn't matter. Everyone had one sole objective. Shoot. Shoot forward, and never stop shooting. Even as a stray bullet from an untrained hand clipped him in the back of the head, Juno knew the truth. We aren't all so different. It couldn't be helped.

Lore Name: Juno Arborius Rank: Junior Researcher SCP: 012 Question/Idea: Do the effects of SCP-012 that compel a person to finish the piece by any means necessary depend on visual or auditorial capabilities, or does it simply work through other anomalous means via proximity? Background Research: Though the files on SCP-012 detail how those close to it will try to finish the piece with their own blood, it isn't discussed whether or not this is purely based upon proximity or other cues. Hypothesis: I believe that SCP-012 functions on only visual stimuli and that someone who cannot see would not be able to finish the piece, let alone realize that SCP-012 is nearby. If I send in a d-class with a blindfold and sound-canceling headphones, I believe that they won't react to 012 until only the headphones remain, and the blindfold is gone. Observations: Though the conduction of the test was... chaotic to say the least, which will be described in the notes section, the results were interesting. Two d-class, rather than one, managed to hop in against instruction. One had both a blindfold on and sound-canceling headphones, the other had nothing. The one with both a blindfold and sound-canceling headphones reacted immediately, working diligently and accurately to finish the piece. After he died, the next d-class moved in and did the same. Evidence/Visual Stimuli: In the chaos of testing, I wasn't able to get a successful snapshot. However, I was able to procure a blurry image, and have recreated it. Attached to this report is my artist's rendition of the D-Class on the side of 012, face blurred out due to heavy injury. Disgusting, really. The red mark on the arm is where the ending, fatal wound was. Analysis/Conclusion: It seems as though SCP-012 does not actually need to be seen or heard for its effects to take place in a human. Rather, it seems to be entirely based on proximity and other anomalous means. However, I have not yet considered the possibility that it releases some unseen substance in the air near it that effects those that breathe it in. Must investigate further. Was Your Hypothesis Correct?: My hypothesis was incorrect. I assumed that you had to see 012 to undergo the self-destructive effects, but in reality, it doesn't matter at all.
