Olbap
Well then, my time has come. I know this is very unexpected & you might be surprised (If you're reading this.) To explain why I'm resigning I must list several factors & go into detail about it.Lack of motivation is a big one. I can remember my huge motivation to hop onto the job, greet everybody, and generally have a good day. But I don't feel that anymore, it suddenly died out. I cannot walk around & be happy on the job anymore. The expectations of getting command was great, but didn't last long. Sports & School also effect this. Right now, I'm in a stage to make the correct decisions & this is one. Sports is a top priority for me. It's a thing that makes me happy whenever I'm by-my-self, or with other people. And school is getting tougher everyday. I must crack down & focus on the main tasks. I cannot sit at a computer desk & play this. Especially, whenever lack of motivation & burnout affects me. Moving onto a little-story:The first time I joined this server I was wandering around as a Class-D. I remember trying to escape & join CI. It never happened, but felt exciting. I then decided to join Security. It felt fun, but generally got less & less fun as time went on. I felt that I was being under-looked & didn't receive the credit that I deserved. I decided to join another Branch, good ole' Research. Man, I remember getting trained by Keagan. I don't remember much, but I remember barely passing my test. After all the training stuff was done, I hopped onto the Junior Researcher job & started doing tests. I remember testing on the Item SCP's. I felt excited about doing my first test. I believe it went successful. After I climbed the ranks of Research, I got to "Lead Researcher." It felt strange going into that position. I can sort've do command things, but very little stuff. I remember just after the Research Meeting (I believe it was Glados) saying Command applications are opened. I hastily headed over to the forums, and submitted my application. I was one of the first people to submit the application. I remember logging onto the forums & seeing everybody else apply. I got scared sometimes if I didn't get accepted. But... In my heart, I knew I was getting accepted. The next meeting, I remember the names getting called out & then, I heard my name. I got excited & thanked everybody. After the entire walkthrough of command I said to my-self "I finally got here." It was a good journey, met good people & talked with good people, etc. It was a couple meetings after that, when I got promoted to Research Supervisor, I wasn't super motivated whenever I got this job, but felt glad about it. Couple weeks pass, I felt bored getting onto the job. As time went on, I started getting less on. It got frustrating seeing that my enlisted cannot test on SCP's due to D-Class rioting, or an SCP being out. Code Red constantly being initiated, etc. I don't want to waste time on this computer anymore. I thought being the most active Researcher member was good, but now, It's not. I shouldn't be implementing so much time into a game. Heck, my parents even got worried about my mental health because of this. I will be semi-active for now on, but not as active as I usually was. It's not good for you, or your health. I cannot compete in sports while being a fat slob, or not getting enough sleep. Here's thanks for everybody I've met during this journey:StarStep: I don't know you that well, Nore did we ever interact with each other, but over-all, a good person. Glados: You're a great person to be around. Somebody that really cares about Research. A person you'd want to be High Command. ,D: (Same As Glados.) Tomato: Out of all the High Command, you were the person I most talked too. A funny guy to be around & too talk to. Slurmp (AKA inactive : Didn't know you all that well, but good luck making it to High Command. MoonRose: A nice individual. Mitchell-Hugh: The king of training I suppose. I aspired to beat him in RRA ranking's, but I got burnt out & couldn't train anybody anymore. Light: I remember going to your mass-tests & thinking: "Wow, you have the worst luck at hosting mass-tests." But now, I think I have your curse. Eyelander: Don't have much to say, but good luck getting to Research Administrator. Ceese: Ah yes... "Ceese." Out of everybody here, YOU were the funniest person to be around. Bagel: Nothing much to say. But he's a GREAT Research member. Cyclone: Sorry to see you retire, I guess I'm in the club now. GamingGoat: Great ET member & Research member. . Snow: I remember seeing you as an Associate Researcher & Researcher. You and several other people at your rank doing tests together, and having a great ole' time. It's sad that a lot of these individuals have either left or just quit Research. Now, you're a command member & flew through the ranks of Research. Nydekore: Don't know you that well, but very polite & great Research member. Train-Over-Lord: Same as Nydekore. To all the Lead Researchers & Senior Researchers, never give up your hopes of getting command. If you think you deserve a spot, get the rank. It takes work (not too much) to get that rank. It's not handed to you, Nore thrown at you. It's given to you whenever you want it. To all the enlisted Researchers: Don't give up your hopes of getting promoted or possible making it to Lead Researcher or Senior Researcher. Do tests. Make logs. Be active. As a command member, that 1 test log, may make a difference. -This is Research Supervisor Olbap "Heading Out" I'll be on my maintenance or Medical job for now on. I'll be less active, but generally on the job. This was hard to write, but I must move on. 3 Current | Assistant Maintenance Manager | Red Right Hand Engineer | CI SPA | ▅▅ ▅▅▅ Sub-Branches | HLPR Bot - Mobile Mop Force - | Senior Containment Specialist | CI Field Researcher | CI Bio-Engineer Former: RRA Professor, Research Supervisor, Red Right Hand Analyst, Sec SGT & CI SFC. Nydekore
Damn Olbap, surprised I'm not seeing more replies here but I guess it is late. Never knew you too well but you were always a top guy and I'm proud of you for that. You earned a lot whether it be rank or respect and for that you'll always be remembered. Thanks for your dedication and your care for the branch. Despite all of that, I understand wanting to make yourself feel better physically. If you don't like who you are it is best to change that and to work to love yourself.
