Far Stricter Staff Punishments - Denied

Gaminglight seems to be far too lenient when its comes to punishing its players.

Warnings should be exactly that, a warning, an "If you do it again, you'll get punished further." Yet we see people walking around who not only have 30+ or 40+ warns, but brag about it in chat like it's a medal. If somebody consistently and willingly breaks the rules, they shouldn't be apart of the community.

If somebody gets warned, and then does another rule-breaking action, it shouldn't be a "oh well you've only been warned 15 times so it'll just be another warning." So what do I propose?

5 Warns - 3 Day Ban

10 Warns - 2 Week Ban

15 Warns - Permanent Ban (with appeal)

20 Warns - Permanent Unappealable Community Blacklist

It makes 0 sense that somebody can receive 8 RDM warns in a row and people would see it and be like "Well I'm gonna let you off with a warning, don't do it again."

At the very least, somebody should get a permanent ban after getting banned 3 times. Somebody having 10 bans on their record is absolutely ridiculous.

I really don't believe this is required, because the people that currently have like 30 warns are still here I wonder why? It's because they do follow the rules slightly granted not as much as others but they still follow the rules, if they didnt they wouldnt exist right now.

and at 20 warns it'd be a strait up community blacklist? seems like a shitty system because imagine your playing SCP-RP like 2 or some years ago and then you get 20 warns and BOOM community blacklist so then you leave gaminglight then 2 years later you want to play a imperialRP server and you try to connect to imperialRP GL and then boom "blacklisted" because of something they did 2 years ago. and because community blacklists are not appealable there is no possible way for this player that has probably changed to rejoin the gaminglight community.

this'll probably just cause more issues for gaminglight than it'll add.

the console auto bans people for reaching warn thresholds anyway. Also if you report someone and feel like the staff member didn't handle it properly you can just make a player report on the specific server's forums.

I have to disagree with this. It takes no time at all to get 15 warns. A perma ban at 15 warnings is crazy to me. Everyone is going to have a perma. I get what you are trying to say, but the current system is fine.

The number of warns system is in place for a reason.

By the time a player reaches 10 warns and gets the 1 day ban it’s meant to act as a firm warning saying “hey you should stop” (yk if the 10 different warns before that weren’t enough) after that 20 warns is a week ban and is the next stage and the first definite warning to stop fucking around.

Not even Dark RP servers use that warn format you’re suggesting.

You most certainly aren’t seeing a single mf with 40+ warns unless they’re from another server. 30 warns is a month ban & 40 warns is a Perm Ban

May want to read up on the staff handbook.

-Support This harms newer players more than it will hurt mingey/problem players. Besides the more often people are banned the less likely they wanna actually try and get back on the server, also people who just cause problems on the server are gonna continue to be problems regardless of the punishment

Well first off this is most certainly not a website/infrastructure suggestion, so I'm going to scoot this over to the SCP suggestions.

Tho if this was added, might wanna wipe warns every year

I feel like that just entirely defeats the purpose.

Anyway, this is denied due to it being way too harsh and unneeded. The system we have in place works very well as it punishes people in increments and is a balance between corrective measures and second chances. Not to mention if someone is really bad, then they're probably perma'd.

Denied. The SCP-RP SMT has decided against adding this suggestion for performance reasons, the benefit to the server, or another unstated reason.
