Are you getting it from Katz’s Deli or Walmart? Quality can be spotty and you want to make sure you are not getting bottom of the barrel stuff that’s been left out of refrigeration at Walmart. Jewish delis especially have good pastrami, bagels, and bread. HOWEVER, if you are in any non-chain store in NJ or NY, most of your bread is coming from Malone Brothers in Staten Island and is a constant variable in the perfect sub sandwich .
