The AI says it's a prequel to 049's story If it doesn't make sense don't ask me, i didn't make it Title: The Plague Doctor's Regret Story: The Year Is 485 A young French man named Lionel Essinger was walking through his father's farm, located north of Paris. It was a simple life, his home was made of wood and stone, inside were two rooms with a loft, which Lionel lived in. The animals that were kept were chickens, pigs, horses, cows, and a few goats. Lionel was not an ordinary child, as he had a great interest in human anatomy and how the human body works. His interest soon became an obsession, soon he started dissecting cadavers, this was not easy, as the only cadavers he could get were from homeless people, his parents didn't approve of his "work". One night, Lionel was trying to dissect a man, as he opened up the man's head, he noticed some sort of parasitic worm-like creature inside, this was quite abnormal, as the only living things that could withstand the head's environment was mushrooms and bacteria, but this didn't look anything like a fungus, this looked like a true creature. It looked up at Lionel, it opened its mouth and began to speak... "Who are you, what have you done to my host?" Lionel gasped "How do you even know that? Have you always been here?" "I was here first, I have always been here." ..."What are you?" "I do not know, I have been here before the planet was born, before life began." ..."Can you leave?" "I cannot leave...my body cannot survive without a host." ..."You're not from this world then?" "I am from a world beyond your's, I was once a worm, a small creature at the bottom of the ocean, then I evolved...now i have power...power that is beyond your comprehension." ..."Did you possess the dead body?" "Yes, I used this body to communicate to this world." ..."So, you can possess people?" "Yes. I can possess living creatures, as well as dead ones." Silence After several minutes of silence "So why is someone as talented as you wasting his life away? You could have been the greatest doctor that this planet has ever seen!" ..."So i could be like you?" "Yes...join me, become my host, and we'll leave this planet, explore other worlds...together!" Lionel was silent, he was considering the worms words ..."Yes...I will join you" "Then let me in...let me in..." Lionel opened his mouth and let in the worm, the worm entered his mouth, and entered his throat, the rest of the story is a mystery. So that's everything guys, at the ends the AI said that in the future he will become 049. Leave your opinions about this story and theories.

Lore Name: Heart Rank: AR SCP: 049/049-2 Question / Idea: the testing started off as nothing unusual the research Personnel were expecting the usual results of a test conducted on scp-049, D class Personnel entered scp-049 containment chamber scp-049 was then directed to administrate his cure to one D class within scp-049s containment chamber the other D class Personnel was instructed to move to the opposite side of the room observing scp-049 from his perspective once said cure was administered to D Class, said D class becameing scp-049 - 2 in accordance to Foundation records And research files Clearance level 3. We then Instructed scp-049 to calm scp-049-2 into a Docile and moveable State Where are we extracted scp-049-2 from said containment chamber moving him to a safer location within scp-049 containment chamber to conduct further testing we then had the remaining d-class Personnel stay within scp-049 containment chamber we then instructed scp-049 that he was cleared to do whatever he pleased with his test subject the D class personnel scp-049 then approached the D class Personnel to then say that the d-class Personnel lacked most of the infection that he said he sees in most of humanity as said Foundation file research Security clearance level 3. The question then arose why this D class out of countless thousands of d-class. Background Research: Being an associate researcher myself I take it upon myself to research all SCPs within the heavy containment Zone that come under my clearance such as scp-049. Foundation research knows that scp-049 “Cure” cannot be undone and must done so by scp-049 himself with some kind of well we don't know, anyways on to the important part we went in with the same expectations as expressed earlier in this log then be almost completely stunned at how 049 reacted to said d-class. 049 has a routine if not anything he conducts himself as if he is truly a doctor as of which we cannot prove whether or not he is a doctor multiple interviews will argue otherwise but the fact remains that scp-049 does not frequently change Behavior unless otherwise provoked this Sudden Change in behavior is somewhat questionable as given his history under Foundation custody. Hypothesis: I then began to hypothesize 049s behavior during said test perhaps we don't know enough about this SCP perhaps we know too little all we know is that scp-049 can be like most under Foundation custody very unpredictable and a very great danger to site personnel, we then begin to ask scp-049 a line of questioning wondering why this D class Personnel in particular was not as infectious so he says as much as the rest of humanity so he claims, We did not get a direct answer from scp-049 only that this D class Personnel was not as “infectious” like most of “humanity”. Observations (What Happened During Test): My observations of scp-049 and the D-class in which he deemed not infectious were captured on photograph it almost seems as though scp-049 has somewhat of a manipulative ability but perhaps not. I have no evidence to prove this claim only that one member of research Personnel was infected and almost caused containment breach of 049 MTF was on site 049 was contained no incident log to be filed no casualties as a result of this test. we then proceeded to keep asking scp-049 questions as well as snapping photos of scp-049 interacting with the d-class personnel we were then raided by chaos Insurgency forces and put under site lockdown the D class was disposed of as well as scp-049 - 2 but not before all data could be recorded and put on record as seen on this log. We then had a clean up crew come in and dispose of all biohazardous materials Bid Farewell to scp-049 and went about our research. Analysis / Conclusion (What Could Of Caused The Results):b I believe the conclusion to this would be that scp-049 behavior is that of an abnormal SCP as seen in scp-035 demeanor. I can also conclude that 049 does see some humans as non-infectious and will not Administrate his cure, if this small majority of people exist or not I do not know we also concluded that scp-049 although we cannot confirm completely scp-049 might have some sort of pathological manipulation at his disposal. Was Your Hypothesis Correct?: My hypothesis was correct in that scp-049 remains to be a very unpredictable SCP and a very clever SCP as well I look forward to conducting more research on 049. Dated 3/24/21 AR Heart.

Name: Eyelander Rank: Senior Researcher SCP: 049 =================== Question: How does SCP-049 describe the pestilence? What are the symptoms, what is the cause, are there any cures other than his brutal cure? Hypothesis: 049 may think that the pestilence is similar to the Bubonic Plague, or other viral outbreaks, due to the fact that he is dressed like a medieval doctor. =================== Observations: The anomaly thinks that the pestilence is some sort of decay in the body, a gradual disease that gets progressively worse over time. He says that we call it life, but he knows that it is a disease, and his cure is the only way to cure it. . .<Start of Audio Log> . [Footsteps are heard, from both the researcher and the SCP anomaly.] . SR Eyelander: "Hello. I have a few questions for you, if you have the time." . SCP-049: "Indeed." . SR Eyelander: "Do you sense the pestilence in me?" . SCP-049: "I do." . SR Eyelander: "Would you be so kind to tell me the symptoms of "the pestilence"? . SCP-049: "The disease is a slow decay in your body, as your cells slowly fade away. You begin to lose cells over a long period of time, as it gets worse and worse while you have it. Eventually, the disease will become extremely predominant, and it will effect you to the point where you can no longer move, no longer breath, and the only thing you can do is wither away. All of you may call it "life", however, it can only be described as a disease. . SR Eyelander: "Alright. Are there any other cures than yours?" . SCP-049: "The medications and prescriptions that you use are very ineffective, they can never cure the pestilence, they only delay it's effects... my cure is the only one that is effective enough to cure it." . SR Eyelander: "What causes people to have the pestilence?" . SCP-049: "Simple. It is the decay of cells over time that causes it, and this decay causes you to age and become weaker." . SR Eyelander: "I see. Well, that's all the questions I have for now. Thank you for answering them." . .<End of Audio Log> ================= Conclusion: In conclusion, SCP-049 thinks that "the pestilence" is a long term disease that will slowly take over your body, which we identify as a natural thing that happens as we age. My personal opinion is that 049 is convinced that he isn't actually doing harm, and I think he genuinely wants to do good, however, he only does bad because he has misinformed himself into doing so. Was your hypothesis correct?: Not in the slightest. 049 didn't describe "the pestilence" to be remotely similar to the bubonic plague, or any other viral disease.

Lore Name: M Rank: Lead Researcher SCP: SCP-049 -Euclid and SCP-610 -Keter BEGIN REPORT Question / Idea: Is SCP-610 related in any way to "The Pestilence" that SCP-049 commonly refers to and can SCP-049 provide any useful information about SCP-610 from his own analysis? Background Research: SCP-049 is a humanoid entity that appears to be a medieval plague doctor. The clothes and mask that 049 wears appear to have grown directly out of the body of SCP-049. 049 does appear to have a humanoid skeletal structure underneath as revealed by X-ray. SCP-049 is capable of speaking multiple languages but prefers English or Medieval French and it claims to have originated in 15th century France. 049 refers to itself as a physician and a medical man and has stated that its purpose in life is to find a perfect cure for what it calls "the pestilence." The foundation is still unsure as to the exact nature of the pestilence although SCP-049 has referred to it as "the scourge" or "the great dying" and the only ailment that exists in the world of man. SCP-049 while generally cooperative and cordial with foundation staff it can become aggressive if it feels it is in the presence of an individual it feels is affected with "the pestilence." Many subjects the 049 describes as having "the pestilence" are shown by foundation medical tests to be perfectly healthy. SCP-049 spends most of its time studying and trying to perfect and develop a cure for the pestilence. SCP-610 is a highly contagious disease with anomalous properties. SCP-610 appears at first to be a highly contagious skin disease spread almost exclusively through direct contact between organic material. First symptoms include a rash, itching, and skin sensitivity. Within 3 hours blemishes resembling heavy scar tissue will grow around the victim's body eventually completely consuming them within 5 hours although high temperatures can speed up the process. Infected subjects' life functions will then cease for approximately 3 minutes before then restarting at 2-3 times faster than the activity rate of a normal human. Scar tissue on the affected subject will then animate and move on its own. Large fleshy growths and appendages will grow on subject at this point completely transforming them. Infected subjects will attack and infect uninfected subjects that it is able to see or sense. Occasionally affected individuals will plant themselves in one location and the growths on their body will spread to nearby objects rooting themselves and transforming the entire surrounding area into a diseased settlement for further SCP-610 growth and infection. SCP-610 is classified as keter due to the extreme challenge regions affected pose to contain and the danger it presents. Hypothesis: While it is unlikely that SCP-610 is in fact the pestilence that SCP-049 refers to the doctor may take an interest in it seeing as it is an anomalous disease and we know little to nothing about the pestilence the possibility still remains that it is related. I doubt that 049 will be able to provide us with any information about 610 beyond very basic observation as his medical methods are quite archaic. Observations: Utilizing the neurotoxic gas valves in the CC of SCP-610 and Hazmat PPE myself and 1 MTF unit extracted a tissue sample from an instance of SCP-610. Sample was placed in a sealed test tube and transferred to the CC of SCP-049 where it was then handed to SCP-049. SCP-049 was informed that it was a disease and told to examine it. SCP-049 spent around 15 minutes of examination on the sample of SCP-610 using various tools procured from his doctors handbag. [BEGIN AUDIO LOG] Lead Researcher M: *Taps mic* Begin audio log date February 5th, 20[Audio cuts out]. Interview and testing with SCP-049 regarding SCP-610. Lead Researcher M: “Tell me 049, what are your thoughts on this sample we have given you?” SCP-049: “Ahh it is quite a curious disease indeed. Quite unusual, but of course it is of little significance compared to the pestilence. Lead Researcher M: “Speaking of the pestilence, does this disease we have given to you bear any resemblance to it? Is it similar in any way?” SCP-049: “No, it is not. This disease may be unusual but it is not near the magnitude of the pestilence.” Lead Researcher M: “Interesting (takes notes) is there anything interesting about this disease that you noticed in your observations doctor. Can you think of any way it could be cured?” SCP-049: “Quite an interesting sample you have given me. Being a medical man myself I am always striving towards the cure, but I am afraid this particular specimen would be quite difficult to manage if not incurable. After infecting a host this disease would completely consume them and unfortunately the only thing that can be done for them after that point would be to mercifully put them out of their misery. Of course given enough time and resources I could most probably come up with a cure, although I would not bother myself with this distraction, I have more pressing studies to attend to.” Lead Researcher M: “Can you elaborate on what you mean by the disease completely consumes them doctor?” SCP-049: Well of course you already know how it works dear researcher, there’s no use repeating redundant information to you.” *Shuffling sounds can be heard* [END AUDIO LOG] -SCP-049 then proceeded to pack up his tools and sat down in his chair pulling out his notebook and beginning to write, ignoring all further questions. Testing was concluded. Evidence/Visual Stimuli: 049 in Containment 049 testing on 610 sample Analysis / Conclusion: SCP-049 did in fact corroborate the idea that SCP-610 was not related to the pestilence although 049 seemed to understand much about SCP-610 after a very short period of rudimentary and preliminary observations and testing. It is unknown if this is another undiscovered anomalous effect of 049 that it is able to sense the properties of even exotic diseases, or if his medical skills really are as good as he claims them to be, despite them being severely outdated. Was Your Hypothesis Correct?: It did turn out that SCP-610 was not related to the pestilence as the original hypothesis suggested and 049 did take an interest in studying the sample of SCP-610 given to it. However, SCP-049 was able to determine much more about the nature of SCP-610 than originally hypothesized despite given only a short time of study and using archaic tools and methods. Further testing with SCP-049 and various other diseases mundane and anomalous is suggested to further explore this. END REPORT

Lore name: Jeff Rank: Associate Researcher Clearance level: 3 Personnel involved: Several spectators, including the Builder Bear. Ds involved: Two. SCPs: 049-1, 012, 714, 1025 Hypothesis: Can zombies get actual diseases, and can the jade ring increase zombie lifespan? Observation: Yes, and no. The first zombie got athsma, got incinerated, nothing special. Second one only lasted 15 seconds, possibly due to the ring's effects after wearing it "too long" as they already have increased health. Visuals: See below. Errors or safety hazards: None. Conclusion: Zombies definitely do not have improved immune systems, and they die faster to the Jade Ring than most.

Lore name: Jeff Rank: Associate Researcher Clearance level: 3 Personnel involved: Nu7 LCPL Shavit Ds involved: Two. SCPs: 049, 049-1, 012, 1045 Hypothesis: Can 049-1s be affected by 012 and 1025 Observation: After having 2 class Ds cured, we proceeded to the safe/euclid cells, and had an 049-1 read the Encyclopedia of Common Diseases. It had full effect, causing spontaneous combustion. The second -1 proceeded into 012's cc, and as expected, died. It took about 30-35 seconds (he briefly left the are of influence). Additionally, we have discovered that 049-1 is quite adept at headstacking, though 049 was friendly at the moment, and 049-1s are capable of using chairs to phase into the roof. (he got up off a chair in 049's cc and ended up halfway in the roof, we had to call an admin...) Visuals: Errors or safety hazards: Beware stacking zombies. Conclusion: 049's cure has no especially significant effect on the zombies' immune systems. Additionally, cognitohazards still take full effect.

What are you suggesting? - -049 needs to have more health I know it sounds stupid but theirs know reason why he has 1000 why not 10000 he shouldn't even die for any reason why give him a thousand health How would this change better the server? - so 049 doesn't need a mod to teleport him if or get in a admin sit with the guy that didint mean to kill him Are there any disadvantages of making this change to the server? If so, explain. - maybe events and 049 being a body sheld but that could just be fail rp Who would this change mostly benefit? - mostly everyone because it saves time for both party's Please link any workshop content, screenshots, or anything that you think may be helpful to those who view this suggestion -

What are you suggesting? - The heal swep to patch up your zombros does not work if there health is under 400 before they were infected it wont heal then to 400 which makes no sense whats the point in the heal swep it you cant even heal people to max health How would this change better the server? - so 049 players can heal there zombies Are there any disadvantages of making this change to the server? If so, explain. - no not really unless you dont like 049 or the ability to heal your zombies Who would this change mostly benefit? - 049 Please link any workshop content, screenshots, or anything that you think may be helpful to those who view this suggestion -

What you want to see? - I'm not 100% if 049 is not able to sprint. If he is or isn't it should be listed in the MOTD. If it is in the MOTD please show me where it is in case I missed it. Why should we add it? - 049 is usually seen walking at a normal speed in other SCP fan games. So it would make sense for him not to sprint. But it also isn't state in his SCP article if he able to sprint or not. This is very important and should be listed in the MOTD. What are the advantages of having this? - So people don't get in trouble for breaking a rule that they weren't aware about. Who is it mainly for? - People who play 049 so they know for sure if they can't sprint instead of having to ask an admin about it for confirmation, and it's not entirely obvious if he can't. If this turns out not to be a real rule then make sure to have it stated in the MOTD: 049 is able to sprint. EDIT: It should be noted this isn't a suggestion for this rule to be added, but more like a suggestion for this to be confirmed it is a rule or not. Because I have seen players and some admins says this, but it isn't listed or not if it is.

Lore Name: Zero Rank: Associate Researcher SCP: 049 the plague doctor that thinks people have the pestilence. Question / Idea: n/a Background Research: want to know if he requires help in medical research of his pestilence. Hypothesis: try to talk to him as weekly as possible to see if he cooperates better with doctors Observations (What Happened During Test): talking with the plague doctor was smooth. Me, "hows your day". Plague doctor, "pretty good still sense the pestilence." Me, "How does your pestilence work in chemicals?" Plague doctor, "oh doctor if you want to learn about it here have a copy of my journal" i read it carefully and i got a roll of 97 so there some problems of his work. I then asked where he came from he told me that he came from the European region of europe. I start asking about scp 035-1 he didnt know anything about it but i say hes hiding something. I asked about 343 he was unfimilar about 343. I then asked about 682 and he stuttered a little bit because he was afraid to answer about operating on 682 and i told him i will help him if he needs it. I then asked about able and he just said an immortal person. I gave 049 the bible and he skims through it and he wasnt much religous of what he said. I also said this "[Redacted]". I gave him a dead dog and manage to bring it back to life. I was done with my researcher. Evidence/Visual Stimuli: the 3 [Redacted] mtf personal was with me and a dboi Analysis / Conclusion (What Could Of Caused The Results): it was just a talking test if he likes comminicating with people. Test process: We placed 5 D-Class in front of SCP-049's containment and told him to tell us which one was strongest with the Pestilence, He only chose 1. We asked him what he based his diagnosis off of and he told us "Greed and Selfishness". I believe we are coming incredibly close to discovering what the pestilence is and finding alternative cures to SCP-049's methods. Test results: Successful, we are taking large steps towards removing 049 as a threat. Conclusion: Requires further testing.

Background: -096: 096 is a humanoid creature that attacks anyone who observes it's face. -049-2: 049-2 refers to a subject who has been 'cured' by 049. 049-2 has no form of higher brain function and is observed to be nothing more than a mindless drone for 049. Hypothesis: SCP 049-2 will trigger 096. Observations: When 049-2 observed 096's face, 096 immediately began attacking 049-2. 049-2 started to fight back, however, and was even able to deal physical damage to 096. After 2 minutes of fighting, 096 terminated 049-2. Analysis: This certainly shows how strong 049-2 can is, with it not only withstanding 096 for a short time but also fighting back enough to hurt 096. As expected, 096 was able to defeat 049-2, and was able to recover any injury 049-2 inflicted.

Name: Dapper Rank: Researcher SCP: 049-2, 049, 012 Background: -012: 012 is a piece of parchment paper with a song written in blood on it. When a subject approaches 012, they get an unbreakable urge to finish it with their own blood. The subject continues 012 until they have deceased from blood loss. -049: 049 is a humanoid entity that resembles that of a medieval plague doctor. 049 is general cooperative with foundation staff, but becomes irritated when in the presence of 'the pestilence.' 049 will then proceed to 'cure' anyone determined to have the pestilence. 'Cured' subjects will be referred to as 049-2. See background of 049-2. -049-2: 049-2 refers to a subject who has been 'cured' by 049. 049-2 has no form of higher brain function and is observed to be nothing more than a mindless drone for 049. [TEST 1] Question: Will 049-2 get the urge to finish 012 with it's blood? Hypothesis: SCP 049-2 will, since it is a mindless zombie, not attempt to finish SCP 012. Observations: Upon entering 012's containment chamber, 049-2 began digging at its skin until blood came running out of it. 049-2 then began writing on 012. After approximately 1.5 minutes, 049-2 deceased from blood loss. Analysis: This is an incredibly valuable test for many different reasons. We learned that 049-2 does experience some sort of urge or calling outside of 049's direct command. Grant it, 012 is anomolis, but this shows that 049's grip can be broken through anomolis means. This discovery shows us that there may still be some of the human conscience left in an 049-2 instance, even if extremely minimally. Further testing required. This also shows that 049-2 requires blood to remain animate. [TEST 2] Question: Will 049-2's urge to complete 012 retain even if 049 gives a direct order? Observations: Upon entering 012's containment chamber, 049-2 began digging at its skin until blood came running out of it. 049-2 then began writing on 012. 049 was then ordered to call off 049-2. 049 called out to 049-2, demanding he stop writing in 012. 049-2 immediately ceased writing in 012. 049-2 was removed from 012's chamber and terminated. Analysis: This again shows us a number of things. 1) despite 049-2 having the urge to finish 012, it cannot disobey a direct order from 049. 2) 012's cognitive hazard can be cancelled in some way. While yes, that way was a possible anomolis hive mind, it showed that 012's urge isn't invincible.

Name: Dapper, John P, Brooke Rank: Researcher, JR, JR SCP: 173, 049-2 Question: Will 173 attack a zombie made by 049? If so who would win and how quickly would the other die? Background: -173: 173 is a statue made of concrete and rebar. 173 can only move when it is not in direct eye sight of any living organism. 173 is extremely hostile and will attack any living being in it's proximity. -049-2: 049-2 refers to a subject who has been 'cured' by 049. 049-2 has no form of higher brain function and is observed to be nothing more than a mindless drone for 049. Hypothesis: SCP 049-2 will not acknowledge 173. 173 however will attack 049-2 as soon as eye contact is broken. Observations: Upon closing 173's containment door, a loud crunch was heard. When 173's containment door was opened, 049-2 was motionless on the ground while 173 stood above it. Examination determined 049-2 was terminated by a broken neck. Analysis: It seems 173 attacks any form of life, not just human. Or 049-2 had enough human in it to be prey of 173. Further testing with 049-2 to determine where it stands with other anomalies is advised. Specifically: 035, 682, 106, 1048, 012, and 999.
