+support Excellent low command member and only 1 rank away from Senior Command. Active and very easy to talk to; would make an excellent senior command member.

In Game Name: Cecil Steam ID: STEAM_0:1:65369818 What's your current Rank & Branch: Chief Inspector in CI R&D, Researcher in Research. What Type of Command Position are you applying for (Senior Command / Low Command): Low Command Date of when you first joined your branch: I first joined R&D on 11/28/2021, I joined Research for the first time on 12/3/21 and rejoined on 1/19/2022 Why do you deserve the position? (50+ Words): Well while I don’t have as much time on the server when compared to other applicants. I believe I still deserve the position of low command for the following reasons. First off; I am one of the most active players on gaminglight with most of my time being dedicated to RP Branches such as R&D and Research giving me a lot of experience in RP branches within a short period; having very quickly rose to the rank of Chief Inspector due to being competent at my job. Secondly; due to my command experience in R&D, I already have extensive knowledge on Research command duties such as hosting mass tests and grading test logs which means less time needs to be spent catching me up on research command duties compared to others. I believe that these 2 reasons make me competent enough to deserve a spot within research low command but I will explain in further detail why we should accept you into the research low command section more as to why I should be given a spot within low command. What is your main goal of being Research Low / Senior Command (100+ Words): I am going to be honest, I was gunning for Research command anyways before global research applications opened up so my goal has not changed at all. I want to help research be the best possible branch it can be. Research has always been one of my favorite branches on the server alongside CI R&D. Hell the only reason I left the first time was that I believed my current position within Research (Which at the time was Experienced Researcher and RFA) would hurt my chances of getting into EOI; which was something I wanted the most. However, I have recently rejoined research since I realized how much I enjoyed it (and also got into EOI which factored into rejoining research and therefore just spending both lives on Research + R&D). Now that I have returned; I want to help research as best as I can and give one of my favorite branches my all. Do you think there are any issues with the branch and if so how would you fix it: I’d say apart from the current issue of a lack of command which is being resolved to the best of command’s ability currently. I’d say the second biggest issue I have encountered was a lack of sufficient breathing room for researchers to perform testing roleplay. The server has been very combat-oriented which makes sense considering the ratio of combatant mains to noncombatant mains. However, due to the server being combatant-oriented; it often leaves researchers and other noncombatant branches with no room to do their RP. Hell I’m 100% sure the reason RIS units were created was because it is extremely hard to get escorts from Gensec/MTF; especially when a test requires multiple escorts such as SCPs you need to fearRP or keter class tests. RIS Units, while very helpful, are a bandaid to the more broad and complex problem of giving researchers the breathing room they need to perform testing. While the matter of finding a fair way to give researchers that breathing room is complex and many sides due to many different branches having RP needs that we need to make sure are fulfilled as well. However, while I do not have a solution at the moment to this matter; I want to discuss with other branch commands from branches such as MTF + CI a potential middle ground that could better guarantee us the necessary breathing room we need while also not impeding on the RP of combatant branches such as MTF and CI. I’d also say another big issue is the current training guide (which RRA command is working hard to fix), the way it is currently done is significantly harder for certain trainee’s and is likely one of the servers most difficult training’s due to one fact; you don’t get the SOP unless you complete the training. I get why they do this; it is because they don’t want people looking at the SOP for the test. Due to this, we have to hand explain all of the rules for research which is why Research training often takes significantly longer when compared to other branches. Which often deters a good portion of potential trainees from my experience while also struggling to listen and process all the information solely given through verbal communication. Not everyone is an auditory learner which is why people often learn the knowledge they need to know better from just getting the SOP, asking questions they got; and then taking the test with the SOP on hand since not only do they learn the knowledge needed to pass the test; they also learn how to scan the SOP for the knowledge needed which most lower-ranking researchers need to do anyway as they get used to their role as a researcher. I believe if we switch to this method, we’ll not only have an easier + faster training; but I am also willing to bet that JRs will have a better understanding of the SOP and therefore have a higher chance of staying in research to get promoted to associate researcher or higher. I know our retention rate is down a lot and I firmly believe this could help increase it. This is how R&D does it and we have minimal problems when it comes to our lower ranks breaking SOP so I don’t believe it’ll lower the quality of JRs the training produces. Lastly; I know RFA (Research Field Agency) is not the most active currently and this is due to a variety of reasons. First off; they don’t have enough members which are being worked on by the RFA command via letting Field Agents grade test logs at the request of the person submitting the test log and thereby showing they want to join RFA. However; they also have another issue that is more out of their control. While I won’t say what they do exactly, I will say they are very event-oriented meaning they rely on events to give their sub-branch activity. However; we don’t see many events these days involving RFA in some way shape or form with them often having to request an event team member to give them something to do and sometimes during events, field agents get locked out of an event’s RP aspects such as interrogations in favor of Analysts or other SFs. This has at least been my experience in RFA and I believe this can be fixed by encouraging event team members to make events that involve RFA more often. RFA as a whole are underutilized by the event team when their whole thing is about events, I also believe the locking out part can be fixed by giving them clearance 4; they currently have a clearance of 3 which often leads to them getting left out of events in favor of SFs such as A4 and RRH to handle interrogations. Why should we accept you into Research Low / Senior Command? (150 word minimum): I know that Research needs active command and with this part of the application I will further explain why I should be accepted into the spot of Research Command. While I have already stated how active I am on the server and my experience in R&D. There are a few things I believe I haven’t gone over that will be gone over here. First off; is my passion for Research + R&D, while I did explain this one a bit in the goal section of this application. I don’t believe I can overstate how much I enjoy RP-oriented stuff such as the RP provided by research. It’s why I left Gaminglight’s PoliceRP (sacrificing command ranks from there in the process but not as relevant so will leave it here) for SCPRP. This passion is what gives me the drive and motivation needed to be an exemplary command member; it makes me WANT to spend all my time possible helping out the branch because I know I enjoy it. You know the saying “do what you love you never work a day in your life”, well I firmly believe when it comes to my time in Research + R&D; I never truly worked a day in my life because of how much I enjoyed it. Secondly; I understand a lot of Research issues, while I might have differing opinions on what should be done to fix these issues compared to others. I still know and understand a ton of the issues plaguing research as you can see by my VERY long essay above in the “What issues does the branch face?” section. Lastly; I’d say I have a pretty good reputation amongst RP branches such as Research and R&D as someone who is a solid RPer, easy to talk to; and very hard working and I am confident enough to bet money on that. I hope you consider everything I have stated and see that I am an excellent fit for Research low command.

Sarkic Raid Cooldown Increase Suggestion - Denied
Cecil Stedmen replied to Cecil Stedmen's topic in Denied
It doesn't really; this is more meant to be a small step towards more guaranteed breathing room as a whole. While Sarkics don't hop on much; I feel there is a potential to cut off any breathing room for non combat oriented RP. This post is more aimed at attempting to decrease combat oriented situations; sarkics as a whole aren't that much of a problem but the fact is based on with the 10 minute raid timer; it has the potential to be a significant problem at times. It's not meant to be a great impact but rather a small one to help just a little inch towards what needs to happen to help ensure Research + Other RP Branches are able to guaranteed have time to do their RP stuff. TLDR; Small stepping stone towards trying to fix a larger issue -
What are you suggesting? - Increase Raid Cooldown for Sarkic from 10 to somewhere around 20 minutes or more but add separate cooldown timers for both raiding the foundation and CI to ensure they aren't doing nothing to 20 minutes. How would this change better the server? - Overall there is a pretty big problem for Research currently and that is the high frequency of GOI raids. Research relies heavily on MTF to act as escorts for dangerous SCP testing such as an SCP 106 test. However; when a raid occurs, MTF obviously prioritize stopping the GOI raid and the test gets halted due to no escorts; which is reasonable in an RP sense. However; 10 minutes is not enough time to get MTF escorts AND complete an SCP test that requires MTF as escorts such as SCP 610. If Sarkic were to constantly raid right at the cooldown; no research roleplay could get done leaving a branch potentially not able to rp outside of testing in LCZ and some Euclid class testing in HCZ. This does not even account for Chaos Insurgency whom also obviously raid the facility quite often. However; the discussion of CI's cooldown is more complex due to them being a whole branch with RP needs as well. I believe this addition which only affects Sarkics is a good stepping stone to create more breathing room within the Site-50 for Research RP to occur. I believe the reason we don't see that many foundation test logs is because the frequency of combative oriented RP situations such as Sarkic Raids result in little to no breathing room for RP branches such as Research to perform their RP. While this problem stems from a lot more than just Sarkic Raids; I hope this suggestion if accepted provides a little bit of breathing room to hopefully allow for more testing to occur. Are there any disadvantages of making this change to the server? If so, explain. - Sarkics might complain about being able to raid less. Who would this change mostly benefit? - The Research branch as it gives them more breathing room to perform on-site testing. Please link any workshop content, screenshots, or anything that you think may be helpful to those who view this suggestion - N/A

General Suggestion - Allow EOI/Maynard to hack R.I.S Units - Denied
Cecil Stedmen replied to Mitchell Hugh's topic in Denied
Think above is relatively fair in terms of implementing, if a hack occurs in the middle of helping a researcher. It'd just be voided and both parties would move on. +support -
Gonna be honest, this was the first thing that came to mind when I heard this suggestion. -support
-
-support There is very clear evidence of the rule break occurring. However, the staff taking the sit had already determined him guilty of breaking the rule and administered a verbal as a result. Unless that ruling breaks staff SOP in some way shape or form then I believe it should be respected.

General Suggestion - Clarify Use of Ethereals in MOTD
Cecil Stedmen replied to FusionThunder's topic in Completed
+support More communication the better, also limits any attempts to loop rules -
ROA or LOA: LOA Name: Cecil Stedmen Rank: Event Team Trainee Start Date: 1/27/2022 End Date: 2/1/2022 Reason: Burnt Out currently of SCPRP in general; need a short break

What are you suggesting? - Prohibit the use of ethereals/micro's as a substitute for bringing an SCP back to it's cell. Examples of what should be prohibited down below. - SCP 682 or 939 is tranqed and cuffed, to save time; the MTF just use the micro/ethereal on them instead of bringing them back to their cell. -An SCP that can be fearRPed such as SCP 049 or SCP 8286 is placed under fearRP and cuffed; but instead of bringing them back to the CC; they use an ethereal on them. -SCP 106 is in the middle of a femur breaker and either made a sit or is heading back to it's CC, ethereal use on SCP 106 while either is occurring should be prohibited. If he wins the roll off on first femur breaker however, ethereal usage may resume. NOTE I AM NOT SUGGESTING THE BAN OR NERF OF THE ETHEREAL IF THE SCP IS NOT ACTIVELY BEING RECONTAINED SUCH AS ABOVE, IT'D MAKE RP SENSE TO USE IT. How would this change better the server? - Bring back a bit of RP and ensures people cannot get lazy about re-containment while also increasing the amount of realism by a little, I know we are a semi-serious RP server but it's important for there to be some level of immersion regardless so everyone can have a good time. Are there any disadvantages of making this change to the server? If so, explain. - A small portion of individuals may or may not complain since they'll have to bring the SCP back to containment instead of just using the ethereal to make it less work to recontain. Who would this change mostly benefit? - People playing on SCPs but even then it's not buffing them, it's just forcing a small portion of people to actually bring SCPs back to their CCs. Please link any workshop content, screenshots, or anything that you think may be helpful to those who view this suggestion - N/A EDIT: Reworded force an NLR Timer to making it less work to recontain to better explain what I meant to say. Also made another edit to state I am not suggesting the ethereal is OP or needs a nerf, it is built to be an SCP killer and I respect that. I just want the server to feel more immersive.

Diogenes: Linear Hawking Radiation Fusion Rifle
Cecil Stedmen replied to Former DHOR D's topic in CI Research Projects
Overall Grade: 98/100 [A+] Lore: 25/25 Went above and beyond the call of duty trying to match the lore, going as far as to include sources. Creativity: 25/25 Damn this was very creative in many ways, must have done a LOT of research for this. I am impressed. Presentation: 25/25 Presentation flowed pretty smoothly and was easy to read. Good work! I can tell you put a lot of effort into this as well. Writing: 23/25 Couple of minor grammar errors such as needless capitalization. Here is a tip, run that shit through Grammarly, it should remove any spelling errors and save you a lot of time. Notes: Great work agent! You put a lot of effort into this and it won't go unnoticed! -
+support He's been the head of medical research for a while and has good research experience when it comes to hosting Mass tests, grading papers and stuff. Think given a little bit of time to get used to things he'd do good within RnD. While definitely not ready for archivist since he's never been in RnD before, I think he'd do great as a member of junior or low command given appropriate time to learn the things that are exclusive to CI RnD such as interrogations.

-support Seen Sarkic enter from there often, I entered gate A, shot you on sight as you could have pulled an RPG at any time so took the shot. It wouldn't have damaged you if it was your spawn and then kept my eye on you. waiting for you to pull a gun out which you didn't so I moved on. As Loaff said, that area counts as Gate A. If I could damage you, then it's not your spawn.

+support Billybob while seen as immature by some, is actually an elaborate character he roleplays as while on the server which a lot of people don't understand. He has an off switch to his character and when it's time to get serious, he gets serious and gets professional. Think he'd do great in event team.

Damn, in my short time in research. You were always a chill and awesome dude! Gonna suck to see you leave us. Best of luck with your future endeavors!
