  3. Lore Name: DogoPutin Rank: Junior Researcher SCP: 1025 Question / Idea: What are the changes that happen once reading the book Background Research: Many changes occured such as death and other diseases such as blindness Hypothesis: That there is a wide range of changes that can happen Observations (What Happened During Test): I had 2 test Sujects. 1 of them was a failure as they got a disease that made then feel like stone but however the other succeeded and got regenerative cancer and was showing signs of self healing. Evidence/Visual Stimuli: They regained health once damaged Analysis / Conclusion (What Could Of Caused The Results): The SCP gave the subject a disease that happened to be regenerative cancer Was Your Hypothesis Correct?: Yes
  4. Researcher: Faux Rank: Associate Researcher Item #: SCP-1025 Question / Idea: SCP-1025 is a book labeled "The Encyclopedia of Common Diseases". With that in mind, my question is - relating specifically to what the title claims - if there are other diseases contained within the book that are not considered common or that are known at all, with the possibility of other anomalous SCPs to be found within the pages and 'reproduced' onto the Class-D Subjects. Background Research: Research done was fairly simple, only needed to read thoroughly on SCP-1025's file and have an understanding of what diseases lie within the spectrum of "common". Though as an addendum I must add that further research revealed that the number of commonly known diseases that can affect the human being is much smaller than previously antecipated. Hypothesis: My hypothesis is that the book's title is a red herring to the total of its contents. "Common diseases" may seem like an extensive plethera of diseases, however from what the previous research revealed, currently there are roughly 10,000 known diseases that affect humanity as of now, being that the majority are not, in fact, common, and from inside the 1,500 pages in SCP-1025, I am almost certain I'll be able to find diseases not common or not known to humanity at all. Observations (What Happened During Test): Multiple Class-D personnel were needed, due to the nature of specific diseases we've found. Ahead are the Class-D and the diseases discovered and read by them, organized in Sub-Logs: Evidence/Visual Stimuli: Due to the invisible nature of the symptoms caused by SCP-1025, it's impossible to present visual evidence, but each test can be easily reproduced by bringing another Class-D subject to read the specific diseases. Analysis / Conclusion: Not only are there diseases that are clearly not common, but there exists the possibility for multiple "diseases" that can cause benefits instead of direct harm, such as was observed with Regenerative Cancer. Though this could lead to a breakthrough eventually, there are multiple variables that could lead to disastrous results if the SCP is used improperly. Was Your Hypothesis Correct?: Yes, and as a bonus we've seen that certain diseases read through the book could be - at least in short term effect - beneficial to human health and even lead to "upgrades".
  5. Lore Name: Dizzle Rank: Junior Researcher SCP: SCP-1025 Question / Idea: Does a picture of a page affect the same as directly reading the book ? Background Research: SCP-1025 is a hardcover book, approximately 1,500 pages long. The front cover and spine feature the title "The Encyclopedia of Common Diseases." The publisher's page indicates the book was printed in 19██ by █████ Press. No other copies of a book with that title and publisher have been found, and no record of the publisher exists. Hypothesis: The book shouldn't have any effects if not read directly. Observations (What Happened During Test): D-0435 was constructed to take a picture from a random page of SCP-1025 without looking at it, he was instructed to read from the picture, not from the book. D-0435 says words seem the be rearranging in the picture, D-0435 appears to see his mothers name and seems to be in distress asking the question "What did you do to my mother!?", the subject starts yelling how he sees how he's gonna live and die. The subject said he was never this confused trying to read something in his life. We constructed them to read the same page from SCP-1025 and the subject got lung cancer. I'm not sure what caused the picture to have that effect. I'll have to do some further research to find out. Evidence/Visual Stimuli: Analysis / Conclusion (What Could Of Caused The Results): I'm not quite sure what happened, I'll do some further research to what might have caused this. Was Your Hypothesis Correct?: Technically, yes it was correct. It didn't have the same effect as if it would be read directly. However it did have another effect, that I couldn't quite explain.

  7. Lore Name:Junior Researcher Berry Rank:Junior Researcher SCP: SCP-1025 Question / Idea: Will two Identical Twins get the same effect from SCP-1025 Background Research: Just read up on reports of SCP-1025 Hypothesis: SCP-1025 Will have different effects on identical twins Observations (What Happened During Test): Both subjects read a random page in SCP-1025. After the first Subject started burning, the other subject refused to read SCP-1025. Security held him at gunpoint he read the book and started to burn. Analysis / Conclusion (What Could Have Caused The Results): My conclusion is that SCP-1025 does not know identical twins apart and will therefore give them the same effect when read. Sadly that means my hypothesis is incorrect. You can't be right every time. Note to self: Do not lock two D-class in 1025 containment and expect them to know what to do. took the fist one an hour to start reading - Foundation Junior Researcher Berry

  9. Name: Clark Rank: Junior Researcher SCP - 1025 Question / Idea: What symptoms of Dementia (if any) can SCP-1025 cause? During a neural scan, does the mind seem deteriorated or functioning similarly to a natural dementia patient? Background Research: SCP-1025 has proven capable of causing mental disorder symptoms, and in the past experiments used to try and determine the cause of these symptoms remains to be seen even through autopsy. Perhaps neural scans, which can be taken while the subject is live with little interference on the body, might provide clearer evidence of just how SCP-1025 produces these symptoms. Test: Dementia Hypothesis: I expect the subject to develop memory loss, likely short term memory loss rather than long term because of the limits the book has shown in previous studies. Setup: Interview D-Class personal to find one with a strong memory, spatial awareness, and balance. With a strong candidate chosen and their results of the tests recorded have them read the Dementia section of SCP-1025. Have them perform the same tests every day for a week. If the book has no effect their score should improve over the course of the week, if it inhibits memory formation the results should remain consistent, and if they worsen over time, it is causing memory loss. The tests will include both memory games and questions regarding their family and past before the foundation to cover both short and long term memory loss. Subject Notes:dewde D-1025-105 (D-115): Died in containment breach shortly after interview was concluded before exposed to SCP-1025: Test Results: Failure D-1025-106 (Bilbo): Good memory based on interview before exposure to SCP-1025; MRI scan showed signs of prior mental instability; after reading the Dementia section of SCP-1025 subject showed took considerably longer to recall information and often had to have questions repeated has the subjects focus would wander; MRI at end of week showed no significant changes: Test Results: Inconclusive D-1025-107 (DIO Brando): Got a score of 4/8 on initial memory interview, unclear if poor score is due to lack of intellect or interest in responding properly; dropped from test and returned to D-Block without exposure to SCP-1025: Test Result: Failure D-1025-108 (Vlad): Target is aggressive and uncooperative during interview, no MRI was able to be taken before exposure to SCP-1025 due to the target refusing to stay still, shows signs of disorientation and loss of physical aggression after exposure but memory seemed unaffected; MRI scans showed redness and mild scarring to the cerebellum; unable to determine if this was caused by SCP-1025 due to lack of prior brain scan: Test Results: Inconclusive but Promising, Further Testing Needed D-1025-109 (Jack): Original MRI shows healthy brain tissue with frontal lobe bruising, possible childhood injury? Shortly after reading the Dementia passage of SCP -1025, before the D-class could be re-restrained for transport, he pulled a knife and was summarily shot: Test Results: Failure Results: While some subjects showed early signs of dementia neither testing or MRIs showed conclusive evidence of significant change in the subject. This could be due to more complex mental disorders taking longer to develop, and I will keep an eye on the surviving D-Class to see how their conditions change with time. Analysis/Conclusion: Further research may be necessary as a result of the difficult nature of completing long duration testing in this Facility. Was Your Hypothesis Correct?: Inconclusive, will complete further testing on the subject at a later date if I can get approval for group testing on the matter, perhaps with a cell to contain a group of D-Class for observation. 10. Name: Junior Researcher DanMan Rank: JR Hypothisis: Is SCP-1025's disease pattern specific? SCP: 1025 Class: Safe [X] Euclid[] Keter [] Test 1: D-Class is taken to the room containing SCP-1025. His interaction with SCP-1025 caused his jumping ability to become crippled. He is diagnosed with Appendicitis. After his Diagnosis he is given Ketomine and class A Amnestics. Test 2: D-Class is taken again to the room containing SCP-1025. His interaction with SCP-1025's physical effects are classified as stone like. He is diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Osteoporosis, and an unknown disease described as Disease that turns people to stone. Due to the unknown nature of the last disease and lack of a cure this D-class was directed to be terminated by a Intellegence Guardian from a surgeon in the Med-bay. I can hypothesis that this D-class possibly had a longer exposure to the book because of the vast amount of diseases he had. Section: HCZ [ ] LCZ [X] Termination(test 1): Y [] N[X] Termination(test 2): Y [] N[X] Conclusion: SCP-1025's disease pattern is considered randomized at best. There was no link to any diseases either D-class was carrying at all, nor was there any way to suspect a shared symptom base that either got from the diseases. Note: Some D-class are reluctant to speak when asked about there effects and diagnosis.
  11. Lore Name:Cade Rank:JR SCP:SCP-1025 Question / Idea:What happens if the reader of the book is blindfolded? Background Research:Read the other file on SCP-1025 Hypothesis:If blindfolded the subject will have no symptoms. Observations (What Happened During Test):After handing the book over to Class D, he was blindfolded and told to open the book, after opening a page he collapsed on the ground with no signs of life. Analysis / Conclusion (What Could Of Caused The Results):SCP-1025 have affect by just opening it. Was Your Hypothesis Correct?:No.
  12. Name: Researcher Dmitri Sourkraut Rank: Researcher Idea: This is a simple test to see if SCP-049 is affected by SCP-1025's effects, if not, then a interview will be done with SCP-049 in an attempt to identify what the "pestilence" it always talks about is, and if it is a actual disease or some sort of SCP-049's philosophy based around a persons morals when it comes to science and medicine. Background Research: SCP-049 takes the form of a medieval plague doctor that wishes to destroy an unknown disease it has names the "pestilence", if it is even a disease at all. SCP-049 has had interviews done with it before, on behalf of the late Dr. Raymond Hamm, and it has never actually told of symptoms related to the "pestilence", which this test will hopefully give to us. Hypothesis: I honestly have no damn clue what will happen here, this is just to see if we can gain any knowledge at all on the "pestilence", but if I had to guess I would say that due to the fact that SCP-049 is a humanoid and can read English that whatever disease it does read it has a high chance to contract. Observations: A D-Class personnel was used identify a non-lethal, easily cured disease that SCP-049 could read without the worries of being terminated from SCP-1025's effects. After a first D-Class had contracted the well known Stone Man Disease/Syndrome, a second D-Class was able to identify a page with the common cold, and used a bookmark in order to know which page to turn to when given to SCP-049. After the initial identification of a clear SCP-1025 page, MTF escorted me and a Senior Researcher Brigand to SCP-049's Containment Cell. Upon arrival, we simply opened the door and handed the book to SCP-049 with two MTF guns raised up to him so that no breach would happen (We did not need a D-Class for this due to the fact that SCP-049 does not identify researchers as having the pestilence, therefore making it safe to do transactions such as this without D-Class). After reading the marked page in SCP-1025, SCP-049 started coughing and said it had a sore throat, to which common medicine was given to SCP-049. SCP-049 handed the book back through its containment cell door and the test was concluded with SCP-1025 being returned to its containment. Conclusion: Well crap, I guess we have to try and get information the old fashioned way by interviews and a bit of speculation, maybe even bribery by giving SCP-049 more test subjects if need be. At least we learned that SCP-049 is affected by SCP-1025's effects, and we should be careful of what we expose SCP-049 to in the future, if this was simply done by giving SCP-049 SCP-1025 then telling it to just read pages we would have to be updating its class from Euclid to Neutralized. Thanks to our precautions, we were able to avoid such a fate, however I will say that it is disappointing to see that SCP-1025 can not be utilized in any ongoing research into the supposed "pestilence" SCP-049 keeps talking about, nor what its cure is suppose to do, I will continue testing on SCP-049 until I can get a definitive answer on the subject. Was your hypothesis correct?: Yes, though admittedly I wish it wasn't, but indeed it seems that SCP-049 is affected by reading SCP-1025. Extra Note: (Interviews with SCP-049 will be made following this test log, and I will be making and reading out the questions to SCP-049 personally, I don't want anyone else attempting the same thing I am planning in the next day or so.)
  13. Name: Researcher Dmitri Sourkraut Rank: Researcher Idea: SCP-1025 has had attempts to catalog it before, however I personally believe these attempts to be futile. Since new forms and strands of disease are constantly being made and others fall out of existence, along with new SCP diseases constantly being discovered, I have come to believe that this effects the book and cause the pages to change along with repeats of diseases in the book, representing different strands. In this test I will be using 3 D-Class personnel and having them read the first pages, the middle of the book, and the final pages and recording any repeats from each D-Class, if any are unable to continue reading such as contracting Stone Man Syndrome or dying of cardiac arrest, that portion of the book is done and the cycle continues. Any repeats of diseases will be recorded on paper to prevent any possibility of mixing diseases up or forgetting which were found. Background Research: SCP-1025, known as the "Encyclopedia of Diseases", is a book which contains information of every disease known and unknown to man, including other SCPs. When information is read silently or allowed, the reader will contract said disease by unknown means. Hypothesis: I believe that due to the constant addition and removal of diseases worldwide, that SCP-1025's pages can not be mapped as the diseases should constantly be changing locations in the book. Observations: THESE WILL BE DIVIDED INTO 3 PARTS IN ORDER TO MAKE READING EASIER FOR ANYONE READING THIS TEST LOG, LABELED 1025 TEST 1-3 1025 Test 1: D-Class personnel is forced into the room housing SCP-1025 after some struggle, freed from restraints, and ordered to read the first 1-10 pages of SCP-1025. D-Class complies and reads out the following diseases in order, Regenerative Cancer (Allows the person infected to regenerate lost tissue, reminiscent of SCP-682's regenerative capabilities), Lung Cancer (You can guess what this is), and Cardiac Arrest (sudden cessation of heart, causes death unless some form of resuscitation is attempted). After this subject is proclaimed dead and his body removed from SCP-1025's Containment Cell (Hereby referred to as SCP-1025's CC). 1025 Test 2: D-Class personnel enters SCP-1025's CC without incident and restraints removed, and subject proceeds to read the middle of SCP-1025 when ordered to. D-Class subject reports that it has read about Asthma (Condition that causes problems with the lungs, leading to lower athletic ability and stamina). D-Class is told to read another page, however after doing so ceases all movement and does not respond to physical stimulants besides eye movement, believed to have contracted Stone Man Syndrome. Subject is shortly after terminated mercifully after consenting to death by injection via looking up and down when asked. 1025 Test 3: D-class personnel enters SCP-1025's CC after a struggle including resisting GENSEC CPL's order to enter the cell, subject complies after being threatened with termination on the spot. D-Class is released and reads the last page of SCP-1025 after more struggle, once again threatened with termination. D-Class reports reading about cardiac arrest and immediately falls to the ground convulsing, and after a few minutes proclaimed dead, Repeat of cardiac arrest noted. Conclusion: Was thinking that I would stand corrected for once, however the cardiac arrest repeat at the end leads me to believe that I am correct in my idea that SCP-1025's contents are constantly changing and that mapping of its pages is simply impossible, and all further attempts to do so should not be allowed due to a waste of time and foundation resources. Was your hypothesis correct?: To put it simply, yes. To put it less simply, due to the way that diseases are constantly changing and being killed off, much like animal species, SCP-1025's pages are affected by this, causing them to change and have repeats throughout the book, however it should still be used in order to identify new threats and anomalous diseases if possible.
