  1. ^ They have the passion research needs
  2. Agree with this. These are all red flags.
  3. +SUPPORT FOR SURE This guy is one of the most creative researchers I have met, and embodies everything this branch stands for. I would love to see what he does with command.
  4. Application Format: Name: Schittlips Current Rank: Lead Researcher Time in Research (Estimate): 5 months Why do you believe you should be in Research Command, and what can you bring to the table that others can't? (150 word requirement): As a relatively long time member of research, I’ve gained an intimate understanding of the research branches rules and protocols. This understanding of research would make me a great fit for command, as I understand exactly what makes the branch tick. This will let me enforce our policies effectively and efficiently, as I have a deep understanding of why they’re necessary. I am also able to be extremely active on the server, and even more active on the discord. I am almost always available on discord, even when I’m not on the server. I believe availability is an important quality in a command member. I am also extra willing to do important activities other members of command may see as tedious, such as test log grading, and assisting and mentoring the lower ranks of our branch, such as Juniors and Assistant Researchers, who may have not gotten the lay of the land yet, and require a guiding hand. As an authority figure, I adopt a policy of mediation and de-escalation when resolving conflicts, and make an effort to be affable, yet professional, having a good instinct for when it’s ok to joke around, and when it’s time to get serious. I believe this is an important quality for command, as it helps make my fellow researchers more comfortable, and makes me more approachable, without compromising my ability to do my job. As a player my RP style also fits hand in hand with a leading position. I tend to approach all RP situations as if they are improv scenes. As you may know, the golden rule of improv is to never say No, and never shut people down, instead building off the ideas they’ve presented. In RP this leads to players feeling like their ideas are heard and that they are active participants in RP, which leads to a richer experience, and makes them more comfortable flexing their creative juices in research. I believe all these qualities combined would make me an excellent member of command, as I can be professional, approachable, fair, and hardworking, all of which are important qualities for members of command. Addendum: The times where I can be most active are times of day and days where I rarely see other members of command online. For example, early mornings on weekdays. If made command I could help fill this relatively inactive time slot. What would you do to better Research and increase activity? (100 word requirement): I believe that the most endearing qualities of research as a branch are the player interaction it affords, and the unique and enriching RP situations it can get players into. And my policy when bettering research and increasing activity, will be to increase this player interaction, as well as the quality of that player interaction, and providing more unique RP opportunities for my fellow researchers. I plan to accomplish this by working closely with the command of other branches to find ways that the research branch can be included in their everyday operations, and planning interbranch activities such as PT’s. I also plan to incentivize conducting tests involving other players, whether they’re D-Class, Military, other researchers, or other RP heavy branches like maintenance or medical, as I believe the interaction with other players is what makes tests so fun to conduct. Having fun on the job will increase player retention, leading to increased activity, increased test conducting, and overall enriching RP on the whole server. I also plan to work closely with event team members to plan more research oriented events, as well as incentivize researchers to participate in and log these events, as these events provide unique RP opportunities that are fun and enriching, and a welcome break from the pressure of conducting new tests regularly. I would also like to create large scale branch wide projects that many researchers can participate in together. These would involve conducting tests centered around a central theme, and building on a lore together as a branch. Needless to say I also plan to regularly conduct mass tests, with a focus on creativity and bonding between researchers, as a sense of comradery is important to our branch's operation.
  5. +support This would be a great roleplay friendly addition The extra lag the entities cause might be worth it even. Maybe this could lead to some kind of notepad system like other servers have?
  6. +support An interesting downside for upside mechanic would help make the riot shield a lot more interesting
  7. +SUPPORT This is the type of immersive suggestion that is needed to really round out the 343 playstyle. It would fit so well with the average 343 player, who is already a total creep most of the time. That is why I support this fully, and look forward to the sultry tones of the morgan freeman filling our ears soon enough.

  10. Lore Name: Schittlips Rank: Experienced Researcher SCP: 035 and 714 Background: SCP-714 has an ability to regenerate itself after being damaged, even being able to regenerate itself from being crushed into a fine powder. SCP-035 secretes an acid like substance that is able to corrode any known material. The hypothesis is that SCP-714 will be able to regenerate itself even after being completely corroded from SCP-035's acid. Procedure: A sample of SCP-035's secretion was collected and brought to an LCZ Testing chamber. The solution was then applied to SCP-714, which immediately started dissolving violently. This was repeated until SCP-714 was completely dissolved. The resulting 714 solution was then placed into an extended observation fumehood and observed over a course of 4 weeks. Week 1 - No change Week 2 - SCP-714 particles began falling out of solution, solution colored light green Week 3 - SCP-714 particles began forming into a vague ring shape Week 3.5 - ring shape began to solidify, but did not have any of SCP-714's anomalous properties Week 4 - Newly formed ring began to exhibit SCP-714's anomalous properties, and was visually identical to pre-dissolution SCP-714 After testing, the newly formed SCP-714 was cleaned of any residual SCP-035 secretions and placed back into containment. Conclusion: It seems the hypothesis was correct. SCP-714's regenerative abilities have again proven to be remarkable. Of note is the length of the reformation process, which was longer than any SCP-714 destruction test on record (previous record being 4 days) I believe these results warrant further testing into SCP-035's destructive abilities, especially with more dangerous regenerative SCP's Perhaps even an SCP-682 and SCP-035 crosstest.
  11. Full Name and Rank: Senior Researcher Schittlips Why have you chosen to pursue specializing in studying biologically hazardous materials? I have quite a bit of a fascination with the testing and study of hazardous anomalies. The idea of alternate biologies and anomalous diseases is absolutely fascinating to me, and its of utmost importance to me that we understand anomalies of this nature. Not only due to the danger involved in their containment and very existence, but due to what we can learn. With enough research, we could even begin to find ways to utilize some of these anomalies for our benefit. Those are the goals I want to accomplish as an HMR, and I need HMR to do it in order to manage the intense levels of danger involved. Have you produced any documents pertaining to biologically hazardous SCPs? I have also carried out several biologically hazardous tests during mass tests, such as SCP-098 and SCP-049-2 crosstest, and an SCP-280 and SCP-049-2 crosstest
  12. Name: Schittlips Rank: Experienced Researcher SCP: 714 and 049-2 List of Personnel involved in testing: Security CPL Crimson Level D Personnel involved(if any): bobby mcBoberton Background: SCP-714 causes extreme sluggishness and exhaustion and in prolonged exposure, can even cause cardiac arrest in humans, and SCP-049-2 instances show large scale differences from baseline human physiology. The hypothesis is that SCP-714 will not be able to effect an SCP-049-2 instance due to the alternate physiology. Observation: A D-Class was brought to SCP-049 and 049 was asked to operate on the subject. SCP-049 complied and the resulting SCP-049-2 instance was subsequently restrained and SCP-714 was forcefully put onto the SCP-049-2 instance. An immediate response was observed: The SCP-049-2 instance's struggling was immediately lessened, and over a course of 30 seconds, the instance became entirely unresponsive. When deemed safe to do so, the subjects vitals were measured. The measured vitals were lower than that of any human being under the influence of SCP-714. Subject remained under observation with no observed changes for the next 4 hours, at which point SCP-714 was retrieved. The subject became responsive almost immediately, and no lasting effects were measured after an additional 30 minutes of observation. The subject was then terminated and incinerated. Conclusion: The hypothesis was proved incorrect. SCP-714 had a predictable effect on the SCP-049-2 instance, consistent with previous results of 714 on human subjects. Of note is the fact that SCP-714 did not bring the 049-2 instance to death even after 4 hours of exposure, and the instance was able to fully recover from the effects. My theory is that this is a result of the subjects altered physiology. This theory requires further testing into the specifics of SCP-049-2 biology.
  13. Lore Name: Schittlips Rank: EXP Researcher Schittlips SCP: 682 and 714 NOTE: THIS TEST WAS CONDUCTED AS PART OF SCP-682 MASS TESTING Background Research: SCP-714 causes extreme sluggishness and exhaustion and in prolonged exposure, can even cause cardiac arrest Hypothesis: When SCP-682 is exposed to SCP-714, it will be able to fully resist SCP-714 due to its unique biology. Procedure: A squad of MTF E11 reduced SCP-682's health to a tranqable level, and then tranqed it. It was restrained and brought out of containment in this state and SCP-714 was applied to one of SCP-682's appendages. As expected, 714 expanded to the size of the appendage, and was forcefully worn by 682. Almost immediately, the tranquilizer used on SCP-682 lost effectiveness, and the subject became responsive. SCP-682 attempted to struggle against its restraints. This struggling was notably less powerful than is usually expected of SCP-682. The struggling continued for 30 seconds before SCP-682 became unresponsive again. SCP-682 remained unresponsive for 1 hour, at which point the ring was removed from SCP-682 and 682 was returned to containment. 682 remained unresponsive for 5 minutes afterwards at which point SCP-682 violently awoke in an extremely agitated state. Conclusion: The hypothesis was proved incorrect. It seems that either SCP-682's biology isn't nearly as foreign as we once thought, or SCP-714 has a much higher ability to adapt to foreign biology than was previously believed, or perhaps both. I believe this warrants further testing into potential SCP-682 termination using SCP-714.

  15. Name: Schittlips Rank: Researcher SCP: 457 List of Personnel involved in testing: Researcher Schittlips Question/Preferred Outcome: SCP-457 has shown the ability to maintain a certain minimum level of flame, despite all attempts to lower its level further. The hypothesis is that this regenerative ability of SCP-457 can be exploited to create a near endless source of low level energy. Risks/Safety Precautions: SCP-457 was reduced to its lowest state using focused fire extinguisher fire. Normal SCP-457 risks were present throughout the test, and accounted for accordingly. Procedure/Analysis: SCP-457 was reduced to minimum state and placed under a standard issue metal coffee pot filled with 1 liter of water at a standing temperature of 30c. The pot was then allowed to sit for 157 seconds above SCP 457, at which point the water was brought to a boil and the test was stopped. This signifies an energy change of 70 kilocalories, or 292880 joules within 157 seconds. This measures to an incredible 1.865 kilowatts of output power from an idle SCP-457. SCP-457 was rewarded for testing with a single drop of gasoline delivered by eyedropper. It is important to note that this idle energy yield is much higher than a non anomalous flame of similar size, even with ample fuel, which scp-457 did not have. Energy/Item(s) Gained: one (1) pot of coffee. Consumed by Researcher Schittlips. Conclusion: It appears that SCP-457 can be efficiently utilized quite easily, with a much higher energy yield than similar non anomalous combustion methods. It may be worth investigating how efficiently SCP-457 burns combustible fuels, despite the inherent breach risk involved. I recommend a custom designed coffee machine be built into SCP-457's containment chamber to help assist Researchers with procuring caffeine. Also the construction of an apparatus for long term extraction of energy from SCP-457's ground state. After the coffee machine though.
  16. Name: Schittlips Rank: Researcher SCP: 457 Personnel Involved: Hazardous Material Researcher Sulfur Containment/Improvement being used: It is well known that certain plasmas, such as fire, can be manipulated using strong magnetic fields. This manipulation ranges from changing the shape of the flame, moving it around, or blowing it out completely. SCP-457, being a kind of, "sentient fire" is comprised primarily of plasma. As such, the hypothesis is that an improved method of containment, or recontainment, can be created using this property of magnetism on plasmas. Procedure/Observation: To evaluate whether this theory held any weight, a sample procedure was devised. A small electromagnet, shown to be capable of blowing out a small candle flame, was introduced to SCP-457, after SCP-457 was reduced in size to be similar to a candle flame by Sulfur, using a standard fire extinguisher. Once the electromagnet was turned on, it had an adverse effect on SCP-457, impairing its ability to move. The effect is described by Researcher Schittlips as, "as if he was being blown back by a strong wind" Given the results of this sample test, plans were made for a larger electromagnetic, whose purpose was to reduce and contain SCP-457 from a larger size. The prototype for this device is pictured here: It is designed to draw in nearby plasma using a strong electromagnetic, and to contain any captured plasmas using a large circular ring of electromagnets around the core of the device. When tested on conventional flames, this device was able to contain a flame up to the size of a large bonfire. In order to properly test this device on SCP-457, it was required to introduce 457 to the device at multiple different sizes of SCP-457's flame The results of these tests are summarized below: Smallest level of flame: Subject successfully contained in device, released back into containment without incident 5 minutes later. Campfire sized flame: Subject successfully contained in device, distressed vocalizations by subject were heard through the duration of the test from the internal chamber of the device. Subject released back into containment 5 minutes later. Human sized flame: Subject attempted to resist the influence of the device, but was successfully contained 30 seconds into the test. Large amounts of expletives could be heard coming from the internal chamber of the device. Subject released from device 5 minutes later. Subject had to be subdued using fire extinguishers due to entering a highly agitated state due to containment in the device Bonfire sized flame: Subject was able to resist almost all influence from the device and was not successfully contained. Large amounts of exterior damage to the device was visible at 15 seconds into testing. Subject had to be subdued back into a manageable state using conventional containment techniques. Additional testing suspended. Conclusion: It seems that electromagnetism has an appreciable affect on the physical form and power of SCP-457. I can not recommend electromagnetic based methods of containment at this point, as further testing and refinement of the procedure is required. I can, however, recommend further investigation down this avenue of controlling SCP-457
  17. It's not done yet, wait till you see SCP-048-PD, with visual aids this time!
  18. //-----LEVEL THREE CLEARANCE REQUIRED-----\\ Name: Schittlips Rank: Researcher Clearance Level: Level 3 Date of Incident: 9/30/20 List classes of SCP(s) involved: SCP-098 Describe the incident: During a mass test conducted by Dr. Charles Anbrorough, SCP-098 displayed unusual behaviour uncharacteristic of any known SCP-098 instances SCP-098 appeared to attempt to engage in rudimentary diplomacy with foundation personnel, using its vocalizations to request items such as food, or requesting council with high ranking foundation personnel. Multiple SCP-098 instances were engaged in this behavior concurrently and referred to themselves collectively as "Crabbia" These deviations in behavior were initially disregarded, due to the mass test being interrupted by a Defcon 2 class containment breach. After the breach was dealt with, Researcher Schittlips returned to SCP-098's containment to monitor any further changes in behaviour. It was found that while SCP-098 was left unattended, multiple instances of SCP-098 gained an unprecedented increase in cognitive ability, showing a near human comprehension of language and concepts. The reason for this sudden change is still under investigation. The collective of instances that previously referred to themselves as "Crabbia" now went by the moniker "The Democratic Republic of Crabbia" hereby referred to as GOI-SCP-098, and requested to begin diplomatic relations with the foundation on the terms of their containment, and the future of their people. They then stated that failure to open peaceful negotiations would force them to use their "Ultimate Weapon". When asked to clarify what they meant by this, they were unwilling to divulge any more information. It was at this time that Dr. Schittlips requested assistance in the form of diplomatic council. He was soon joined by [REDACTED]-7, who volunteered to act as a diplomatic ambassador A record of diplomatic action between the foundation and GOI-SCP-098 is provided within document SCP-098-DP (coming soon) Long-term complications due to the incident (if applicable): Continued monitoring and diplomatic efforts How dangerous was the entirety of the situation?: Minimal
  19. +support this is an amazing idea it would make flagging up for tests actually worth the time
  20. +support I was able to kill 096 as 076 just because 096 couldn't hit me once
  21. Name: Schittlips Rank: Associate Researcher SCP: 096 List of Personnel involved in testing: RIG UNIT 033 SEC SGT Rainbow Level D Personnel involved(if any): D-CLASS 1263 Standard SCP-096 handling procedures were followed throughout the test, with no appreciable risk of accidental exposure at any point Background: Prosopagnosia is a rare cognitive disorder in which a person is unable to properly process faces. The ability to recognize faces is impaired, while normal vision remains intact. The hypothesis is that SCP-096 will not attack a person with Prosopagnosia, due to them not being able to properly recognize SCP-096's face. If this hypothesis holds true, it would lead to a new avenue of investigation on what SCP-096 counts as seeing its face, and whether its conditions are purely visual, or also cognitive in nature. Procedure: One D-Class diagnosed with Prosopagnosia was procured from D-Block under supervision of SEC SGT Rainbow. SEC SGT Rainbow served as an escort up to LCZ checkpoint, at which point RIG UNIT 033 accompanied me into HCZ, due to SEC SGT Rainbow having to attend to a security related matter. Once arriving at 096's chamber, the D-Class was given a standard briefing and told to look down until the door closes behind him once he is in the chamber The D-Class was then placed into the chamber, and the test began. Observation: The D-Class was asked to report the appearance of SCP-096's face, and reported a typical response of a Prosopagnosia patient, describing it as formless and blurry. SCP-096 then displayed a reaction identical to its normal response to having its face seen. D-Class 1263 was unfortunately terminated in the incident. Conclusion: The hypothesis was proven wrong, SCP-096 displayed no change in response with the Prosopagnosia patient. This leads me to believe that SCP-096's conditions for exposure have little to do with facial processing. I recommend further investigation into the effects of other visual or cognitive impairments on SCP-096's responses.
  22. I suggest that we add VRMod to the server so those of us with vr headsets can have an extra immersive experience. It would benefit the server by allowing for more immersive RP with more expressive actions. The only downside would be that vr players might get a slight advantage in combat, since they can aim around corners without needing to peak their head out. It would mostly benefit people with vr, but people without vr can see them moving too, even without the mod installed, so it would really benefit everyone. The workshop link to the vrmod is here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1678408548
