We get 10s of people "applying" to develop for Gaminglight every month, so this process is mainly to weed out anyone that is just messing around and not serious about developing for us. You will need a steam account as well as steam downloaded. You can do all of this here https://store.steampowered.com/. You will need to purchase Gmod from https://store.steampowered.com/app/4000/Garrys_Mod/ for $9.99. Once you have both of those steps completed, launch Gmod through the steam library. Once inside of Gmod, click "Find Multiplayer Game", then go to StarwarsRP, SCPRP, or PoliceRP section and search for "Gaminglight". Click the server then join and you will now be loading into one of our servers!

First of all, Welcome to Gaminglight SCP-RP! When you connect to the server for the first time, you spawn in D-Block as a Class D. Class D are the prisoners of the SCP Foundation, and are treated as disposable lab rats. On our server, Class D is encouraged to both participate in researchers’ tests and attempt to escape the facility. As a Class D, you really have a lot of options. Not only can you play as Class D, as soon as you join the server you can get trained for Research, Gensec, or Utility! All you have to do is click F4, navigate to the category of your choosing, find the trainee job, and double click it! Then you just wait for a trainer and they will take care of you.

We have three different “zones” on the map. Light Containment Zone (LCZ), Heavy Containment Zone (HCZ), and Entrance Zone (EZ). The first map is of LCZ, and the second map is HCZ and EZ.

Don’t worry! This is an easy fix. Open your Garry’s Mod console, with the “~” key on your keyboard, and type “mat_specular 0” into it, and hit enter. Your game will freeze for a moment, but when it unfreezes you shouldn’t have any texture issues!

Another easy fix! We have an in-game FPS Optimizer where one of the settings can disable your flashlight, so all you have to do is type !fps in the chatbox and make sure you have shadows enabled, or in other words, don’t have the “Disable Shadows” option selected. Your flashlight should return!

To Join MTF, it can vary depending on which branch you’re trying to join. Players that are MTF are more well known in the community, and also have experience on the server, For most MTF branches you’ll first need to rank up in Security before you can try out for MTF. Once the time comes, you can find information about each MTF branch here https://gaminglight.com/forums/forum/523-mtf/ As for Chaos Insurgency, there are two ways you can join. One way is escaping the Facility As D-Class, and finding your way to the Chaos Insurgency base, and asking to be trained. Now keep in mind that CI does not have to train everyone, so they may choose not to train you. Playing on the server. You get XP for just being on the server, so playing long enough will get you any level you want. If you want a bit of a shortcut, we have levels available for purchase on the SCP-RP donation store at https://gaminglight.com/store/store.php?page=packages&id=30. Also, every night from 12 AM EST to 12 pm EST we have an XP Surge that doubles the XP you receive, making it a perfect time to level up and play.
