CI Military and Nu7 are the main branches that are a life once you join.

Any other branch does not take a life till a certain rank.

E11 is SGT
CI RnD is JA
Research is AR
Utility (Medical and Maintenance) Command (Doctor/Operations Supervisor)
Gensec is LCPL

So, technically you can be in all branches at once, but if you want to experience all the server has to offer, I would recommend joining CI RnD and Nu7. Of course, this is my opinion and it may or may not be biased for Nu7, but I think you can experience all of the server as CI RnD has both combatant and non-combatant roles so you can experience testing, healing and repairing armor, and combat all in one branch. Nu7 does a lot around the site, such as killing D-Class, feeding SCPs, escorting for tests, killing CI, raiding CI, etc.

Every branch has a different experience to offer, for example a giant difference would be Nu7 and CI Mil. E11 and Nu7, Nu7 remains on site, while E11 enter site on code orange and below. Research and CI RnD, CI RnD extract SCPs and conduct unethical tests on SCPs while Research can test when ever.

My personal suggestion to pretty much anybody I ask is one combatant one rp.

A main guideline on which to pick is "what gives me access to the full map"

A few good combos would be like, Nu-7 and RnD, or CI Mil and Research, E11 and Maintenance, stuff like that.

Granted, with the life limits being pretty high on several branches, you could just go full spectrum with it, try a little bit of everything.
