  1. its pretty sad thing is, "John" is actually someone who would make everyone in this community cry since he is a retired vet who was hella popular. thank you.
  2. Hey there, this is going to be quite a long and emotional post, so if you can't read the whole thing grab a snack and some water! I wanna start off by saying all of this post is about what I've observed of this server over the last 6-7 months and how it has changed my mindset as a literal person. Please take this post seriously, as it took a lot to make and I wanted to share my story with this community. "The affection of a hobby can be more impactful than a bullet." - me lol When I first joined Gaminglight, I was a typical "squeaker". I was quite unintelligient, and I'd minge and just generally screw around as I had no idea what I was doing. I met a few individuals back then, who are some of the closest people I know to this day. It's always been a 50% community for me, but when you look at it from the bigger picture it is a whole lot more than that. This is the most positive Star Wars community and least mingy one your going to find. This server's management and moderation team are both hard working and dedicated individuals. I've never been judged by a staff member or regimental officer for any sort of things I have. For your info, I have numerous mental diseases that I'm fine with telling you I have, thanks to a great person named Deaf Bobby. Even though he may not recognize me, he put an impact on me. Thanks, man! These diseases are genuinely annoying. One of the hugest ones is low-spectrum autism, which heavily affects me on the internet due to the autistic jokes, but being apart of this server has granted me immunity to this. This server has given me careful exposure to this. I know you might be thinking "ayo wth is this post??". I wanted to tell you this because you should know how great the community your apart of is, and why you shouldn't take being apart of it for granted. Back to the staff part, they legit never judged me for how my voice may have sounded or how LITERALLY AUTISTIC I act sometimes. The staff is kind hearted, and 100% deserves to be apart of staff. For Zeeptin, what you've created here is something only you have on Garry's Mod. Have a round of applause for yourself. Before this next paragraph, make sure you realize the friendships you make can disappear in an instant and you shouldn't take them for granted. Individuals flood out, and flood into this community. Learn to adapt, and move on, or it's gonna be hard here. Be happy for them that they can be in someone that better fits them, and their life. Think of their sake first, and not how its going to affect your own happiness. Now, the main reason I made this post. The reason is because I want to talk about my friendships on this server, how they affected me, and why you shouldn't take them for granted. I joined with basically nothing, and was approached by numerous individuals including Jake ( guy who owns a lot of CCs ). He was a individual who helped me a lot, and inspired me to play this server a lot. I met a lot of people, but one of the main reasons was due to the fact I joined Shock around 2-3 days after joining the server. Couldn't get it the first day, since I didn't understand faces and the Advanced Firing Line formation. I met so many people during that time, and I eventually donated to the server and joined Royal Guard, and the Death Troopers as callsign LF2 while AX1 was only a Colonel. I met a very kind and shy individual at that time, that for the purpose of privacy and my own happiness, I'll refer to as John. John didn't express too much emotion at first, and while I didn't know why at first, I realized that he was a really great guy. For everyone reading, John had one week prior to me meeting him, recovered from Stage 3 Cancer. I legit loved John as a friend, and considered him my closest friend for weeks. He was such a great person. This next part is quite emotional, and I'm crying while writing this. If you don't believe me; your opinion is your own, and I cannot affect it. A couple months after his recovery, the cancer came back, and a week later I was told by his brother that John had passed away. For reference, this is an individual who I had video and chat called over 500 times, and I spoke to him every day for 4 months. We had gotten distant, and the day before I was told this I DM'ed John asking if he wanted to play some VALORANT. Please, don't take your friendships for granted even if they are just on some storm trooper server. This may not apply to the server that much, but this is showing how affectful this server has been on my life. Gaminglight affected my life more than some of my family has. It developed from a server, to a friendship, to a sadness, and to a realization that I took friendship for granted. For new users, I 100% recommend coming to Gaminglight. There's so many interesting individuals in this community, and I would love to help you out if you need it. If you don't believe any of this, please just leave the post and don't interact with it. I didn't share this for attention, or any other motive besides doing what I believe John would want. I will not be releasing any sort of public information about him, his discord or steam name. I hope this can bring you all to a personal level of me, and I love meeting all of you. In summary, this is the pinnacle of communities. Dedicated management, staff, amazing owner, and thousands of opportunities and daily events are hosted. I barely meet any minges, and every individual has been kind to me as I was kind to them. I've learned so much about life, and just socializing as before this community I was heavily anti-social due to my mental conditions, and I slowly learned to interact with others casually and start conversation without a problem. If you need someone to talk to, roads#0001 Everyone, have an absolutely amazing life. Peace out. if you know me, im an honest person, i dont lie about death as that is something you dont f****** joke about at this serious of a level. its for awareness, and gratitude! just wanted to clarify ;D
  3. ( This is my main account for reference, I forgot to sign in after making the post. )
  4. if you want to, go ahead. its really up to personal perspective on these type of things, so making a post wont help you since everyone will say idc your choice (thats what im doing rn)
  5. What is your in-game name?: Asp What is your steam name?: Asp What is your steam ID?: STEAM_0:0:438330116 Do you have any other experience with staffing?: (If yes, explain) Yes, former Moderator on Undead Gaming which is an ImperialRP server on GMod. On the game Unturned, over 1k+ hours of staff experience (at least). Majority of my game hours are on my old account PrideArcher. I have been Moderator on a lot of servers quite honestly, and that being said a variety of games mostly on Steam and mostly utilizing the same commands with the same prefix as ULX. I have been a plethora of staffing ranks including, but not limited to; Staff Manager, Lead of Staff, Senior Administrator, and etc. What date did you start playing on the community? (roughly) Gaminglight in general, 2-3 years ago. ImperialRP a few months back, again on my old account. I joined PoliceRP first by the way, but just didn't give me the right "experience" you could say as I am more interested in Star Wars. What date did you make your forums account? Few weeks ago or around that time frame. Current rank on server (This is a ULX rank ONLY! Not a RP Rank)? Lord. How many warns do you have on the server? 0 Have you donated? Yes, I donated $40. What rank are you applying for? Trial Moderator. Have you read the staff guidelines? Yes. Timezone: CST Why do you believe that you deserve the rank? (Can be any length) I believe I deserve the rank because I wanna do a lot for this server, and I have a lot of goals I wish to achieve as a staff member. Those goals are helping the community in general, working my way up to Senior Administrator, and obviously working with people and making new friends. I have the current possibility to be a Starfighter Corps NCO as my application was accepted I just need to be tryout certified. I can help the server and players as I am just a generally social person and I enjoy talking with people. I'm not bias whatsoever, so you will not run into that issue with me. I think that I would be a critical asset to the staff team because I do not plan on resigning for a fair amount of time. I am extremely dedicated to this server, and I'm on practically every single day at least an hour. I can get vouches from some staff members who are aware I can handle this job. I understand previously in my other applications I was fairly idiotic, commenting on the post, all of that stuff, but I have grown and interacted with the community more to the position where I feel fit to acquire these responsibilities as a Trial Moderator. I have the skills needed for this job as well being that I have past experiences, and I have good judgement, teamwork (includes communication), and I am alright under pressure (depending on the level of it). How would you handle someone that is Mass RDMing and when you bring him/her to an admin sit all they do is curse at you? (As a Trial Mod) I would request an Admin+ to help, as I do not have the permissions to ban this user. I find that this answer may be vague, but in all honesty it is the plain truth of what I would do. (As Admin) Now, as an Admin I would gag them so I can actually tell them their consequences and give them a 5 day ban + a warning. If you haven't seen me online, it is because I am also in DT.
  6. why does everyone think im leaving lol. "To clarify, final experience does not mean I'm quitting" very
  7. O, well thank you I forgot to add your note. 1 sec
  8. - Support I feel like you have been promoted way too fast. You became Officer in like 2 weeks, and skipped multiple cooldowns for ranks in Shock. (This isn't me, this is Quicky's words.) I have no issue with you yourself, but you need more experience just as I do.
  9. To clarify, final experience does not mean I'm quitting I just feel this could be the last time I make one of these posts. I just wanna make my final statements about my observations of this server over the past week, and give an honest perspective on the server's health. First off, this server is really fun to play on and if your a new player looking at this post then I would 100% recommend to play this server over other SWRP servers. It has a lot of roleplay, fun events, and just generally a non-toxic community you can play with. You can join a regiment, fly ships, there is even a skill point system which I think is awesome. Personally, I feel like on a lot of things there is bias with staff. If someone says something, others will blindly follow regardless of reading so they fit in. People have skipped rank cooldowns in numerous regiments, and this post isn't to complain about issues, but this is really the only major issue I've come across with the server. There is lagspikes on the server, and it is moderately laggy at most times, but thats expected since there are a lot of things in the game that require it and we always have a concurrent 50+ player count. Overall, there are a lot more goods than bads on the server. Below me is a list of all of the really nice people I have met. If your not on the list, it doesn't mean your rude or anything, I just haven't met you. Whether or not you like me I don't really care, and it won't change my opinion on you. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ - Texas (Shock) - Really nice guy, helped me in Shock and just really awesome and approachable. - M (Shock) - Amazing officer, really good person, a lot of qualities we need in IRP - Blast (Shock) - Strict, but a really good NCO and person in general. Always helpful and willing to answer my dumb questions. - Quicky (SF) - Really nice to talk to, and knows a lot about the server. (my personal server guide ;D, jk jk.) - Sully (SF) - Sully is someone I haven't known for that long but is great at his job as SF Marshal, and a staff member on Imperial RP. Honestly just great! - Ptob (SF) - Ptob is also someone in SF, the VM, and really has helped me with issues I've had in the past. - Azir (SF) - The person who originally helped me for like 4 hours on an SF tryout because I didn't know how to work TeamSpeak. Awesome guy, really nice, and a great staff member! - Emily (Head GM) - Not sure if Emily likes me or not, but she is great at her job and her events are flawless and fun. I was at a late night LAAT dogfight that turned into bumper cars and it was great. - 0xEmma (Shock) - Not sure if Emma likes me either, but she is also great. A Super Admin and a Shock VCDMR, obviously Emma has been entrusted with a lot. The fact she can handle it all is awesome, and she is really nice as well. - Brendan (Medical) - Brendan is a epic Medical Commander and a supertastic Staff member on IRP. Really helpful, and provided a lot of advice for me on becoming a staff member which is great. - Coward (Naval) - Literally just a fun guy I met when I was guarding BCP as Shock. Really fun to be around, makes da good jokes. - Mikey (Naval) - The first person to give me a Naval tryout, and my 2nd ever tryout in general. I failed, but I can tell his leadership skills are really well developed and he definetely deserves his position. - Magma (RG) - (also dwa). Bruh.. This guy helped me so much throughout my time on the forums. Never seen him ingame, but I talked to him once on discord yesterday and he helped me a lot he deserves a big shoutout - Bond (SF/DT) - Bond is a really good roleplayer, and a impeccable pilot for us at SF. Had a lot of chats with him while on duty at SF on a TeamSpeak. 10/10 gamer. - Frank - just.. epic. legit epic man. Really active, helpful, supportive, and the like. - Hawkeye (Staff) - Uh.. Geesh. I got a lot about Hawkeye. DND ner- I mean awesome staff, I got to be an actor at one of his events a few days ago and it was fantastic to be apart of. Enjoyed every second. Great person to be in Shock as well, and active as heckle on IRP. - Mist (SF) - Nice person, pretty funny, sometimes a bit mingy but thats everyone at times. - Fisch (Staff/SF) - Kewl staff, good SF, been on a lot with Fisch recently since he is really active as SF. I dunno what adjectives to describe this good boi since I've used all my good ones. - Isaac (IST) - hm. what adjective now... how about supertastic superlagic man who definetely deserves staff. (yall should go read his app btw) - Mikey (Staff/Forums) - Fun person to be around, very active on the forums, amazing Moderator, definetely eligible for his current position on the staff team. Respect +100. - a bunch of DT people i dont know names of because they have 3 letters, still epic people tho - all my homies in SF (havent talked to all of them, so i cant make a desc about them but they are all really epic gamers and friendly.) Overall, thank you to everyone. I would have put more people, but I'm so tired of typing I'll edit it in a bit. This post was to just overall give my "personal review" on the server and give names of a lot of people I've met in this short time. Yall are great, and I'm really blessed to be able to meet all of you. I hope everyone has a fantastico day and stay safe with COVID.3 big boi post
  10. Thank you man! I'm not Shock anymore, but you were an awesome officer!
  11. What is your name? Asp What is your rank? Senior Airman. How long have you been an Enlisted? Maybe 4-5 days now. Maximum a week. What rank are you applying for? Senior Pilot How many strikes do you have? 0 Why should we trust you with a NCO rank? I believe you can trust me because I have been here for not as long as everyone else, but my dedication is solid. I've been extremely active lately, and probably racked up 10 hours every 2 days at least. I can be trusted because I am currently trusted with bringing some of the highest of the highest in a ship. This brings a lot of pressure, since I brought a whole gang of RG to the DS. It's really stressful, and thats just like NCO/Officer (sometimes). I'm use to being a NCO. Whether or not its on a GMod server is irrelevant, as its the same duties and experiences just different graphics engines and server hosters. What can you do to assist Officers with this rank? I can listen to their commands, and do their orders to the best of my abilities. I can pitch ideas that could overall benefit the balance of SF. I can host tryouts, and help get things setup so that not everything is always resting on their shoulders as sometimes a work overload can demotivate you. I can do my best to help the Enlisted, and other NCOs so that overall no one is having a bad time. I can and will do whatever I can to support this battalion and its members, and that is my #1 goal in SF. Just to help others, and keep this place going as steady and awesome as it is right now. Do you agree that if you are striked within the first week you will be put back down to the Enlisted rank? Yes.
  12. + Support - Active. - Nice guy. - Mature. - Dedicated. - Gets things done. - Hasn't read guidelines. - App is a little hard to read.
  13. In-game name: Asp SteamID: STEAM_0:0:438330116 Current RP rank on StarWarsRP: Almost an NCO in SF, Trooper in Shock, User (haven't donated). Have you donated to the server?: No. Have you been banned on any GL server before?: No. Have you received any warnings (please give reasons if applicable)?: No. How much time do you have on the server?: Almost 2 days. How well do you know the LORE? Explain: Personally, I am fairly experienced with Star Wars lore. I have read a lot of Canon, I have rewatched the series numerous times, I am a fan of all star wars series on Disney+ and have watched every single popular and a lot of non-popular lore/side-lore content. I've grown up with Star Wars, so I know a lot about it. Why do you WANT to become a Gamemaster?: I would like to become a Gamemaster to host events, improve the server, and have fun. A lot of people have doubted me as a Gamemaster, and I'd like to respectfully prove them wrong. I wanna help out the server as much as I can and I find no other way to go about this besides becoming an official GM for Imperial Roleplay. I love playing the server, I love the community, and I just generally enjoy this place. I wanna help give others the same experience and I wanna preserve the aspects that I can of this server. Whether or not it make a massive impact is out of the picture, I just wanna do my best to help this server. I would like to have fun as well. Honestly, like everyone, at times we gotta joke around and have fun and that's inevitable or everything gets boring. I wanna have fun by hosting events, so my first and third point just link at that. Hosting events is pretty fun, just to see how your concepts are taken into consideration and actually acted out in front of you. Why should you be trusted to be a Game Master?: I believe I should be trusted because I have played on Imperial RP for almost 2 years now, and with Gaminglight a lot longer. I'm not gonna be arrogant and say everyone knows me, because quite honestly, they don't. (yet). I can be trusted because I am close to an NCO in SF. Yeah, maybe not that great, but it takes dedication to be able to go on a server for at least 6-7 hours a day. I haven't missed a day of playing this server since I started seriously playing recently. In about 4 days, I have gathered a day of playtime. Playtime means nothing, but still. I believe I could be trusted because spending a lot of time on a server is useless if your going to give it up to abuse, or not correctly do your job as a Gamemaster. There is a reason that we all take time and effort editing and being picky on these applications, it's because we genuinely want to become a GM. I can get vouches from a few staff members, if needed. Are you familiar/experiences with ULX?: Yes. Are you experienced with being a Game Master and how they function?: Partially, yes. Specifically to the role Gamemaster, no. I have been roles similar to it but they just name it differently. I was the event lead on a DarkRP server, and I helped run and generally manage the staff team there. Give a brief example of an on-ship event, as well as an example of an off-ship event: On-ship event could be this: Recently, a lot of communication errors and general power issues have been taking place in areas that are critical to the ISD. We know this is planned because who or whatever is doing this is obviously going for main parts of the ISD, and all they have left is to shutdown the Bridge. If this happens, which we cannot let, our ship controls will malfunction and the ISD will explode. We have some information about who it could be. It has to be a member of our ranks, as no one else would be experienced with the advanced layout of the ship. We have a good suspicion it is someone with access to the Bridge, Brig, and ATC. These were all the main places effected by the attacks. Our sources say Naval, but you never know. Off ship event could be this: A rising rebellion group has been gathering at Hoth and had a meeting recently. Our sources say that this meeting plans on attacking the ISD. Our goal is to prevent them from being able to leave Hoth, for the ISD is vulnerable during a space battle especially to rebel bombers. The plan is to scout our enemies numbers, and assure our sources were correct. If they weren't, we must wait for them in space for we cannot risk losing any other of our resources on the ISD to these rebel scum. Do you know how to give a weapon/SWEP to yourself/someone? (Give an example): Yes. !give Asp PasteFileOfGunHere.mdl (Found in the menu when pressing Q.) Do you know how to model yourself/someone? (Give an example): Yes. !model Asp PasteFileOfModelHere.mdl (Found in the menu when pressing Q.) Have you read the Gamemaster Guidelines?: Yes.
  14. + Support Nice person. Extremely active. Previous experience. Good ideas. Generally just a good fit for the position of Trial Moderator. Best of luck!
  15. + Support I see you on all the time. Nice guy. Mature.
  16. - Support Haven't seen you on the server ever. Lied about warnings. Can tell you put effort into the application.
  17. +1 support. Awesome application. Can tell you put a lot of effort and time. Generally, your just a known person across the community and a nice guy. You deserve Gamemaster.
