Jr researcher Issac Clarke Test Log 005 Technology Vs The Cowbell

Recommended Posts

Rank: Junior Researcher

Clearance Level: 3

List of Personnel involved in testing: Myself(Junior Researcher) Supervisor W, and 2 MTF

Level D personnel involved: 2 D class

SCP: 513

Errors and/or safety hazards: SCP 035-1 Broke Containment during the test and one of our MTF Went to go "secure" it but other than that, no issues.

Question: We know what SCP 513 does when you listen to it, but does it do the same if you listen to a recording of its noise instead of the bell itself? AKA  Can we use technology for instance, recording software and the use of machines to safely record and then listen to the sounds SCP 513 produces without the concern of SCP 513-1?

Background Research: SCP 513 as we all know appears to be an old rusted cowbell that has not been able to be restored by any means. However the cowbell itself is not the issue but the sound it produces. "Any noise produced by SCP-513 immediately induces strong anxiety in all sentient beings who hear it, regardless of their previous mental status." All cases of subjects who have listened to SCP 513 report having been watched by an entity which will from here on out be referred to as SCP 513-1 which has been described as a tall, emaciated humanoid with abnormally large hands. It is not certain whether or not this Creature actually exists in a physical dimension, and is capable of physically attacking those who have listened to SCP 513 but at this point nothing surprises me.

Hypothesis: I feel as though an extracted recording of SCP 513 will take away all the SCP's "Power" nullifying the effects of the bell itself leaving us only with the sound, rendering it harmless.

Analysis and Conclusion: Future tests done on the sound waves produced by the bell itself could in fact give a solid reason as to how and why anyone who hears it can now see SCP 513-1 (Future Question: Does a machine, android, or synthetic individual possess the power to see 513, or is it only limited to humans and other living organisms)

Observation/Visual Stimuli(Photos/videos): The First D class was sent inside  SCP 513s room with powerful noise cancelling headphones . All others in the room were given headphones and moved clear to the other side of the room as not to hear the sound of the bell in the event that the Headphones would not protect us. The D class did as instructed, Setting a recorder next to SCP 513 and ringing the bell several times to get a solid recording. The D class unfortunately did suffer from the effects from the bell but was given class A Amnestics afterwards. After being removed from the chamber The D class returned the recording with SCP 513's sound. Afterwards another D class was ordered into another room completely separate from SCP 513 and was instead given the recording of 513's Sound. Upon listening to the recording of SCP 513, The D class claimed to have seen nothing and seemed to be unaffected by the bell at all. After testing This D class was given Class F Amnestics and both were returned to D block.

Do your results align with your hypothesis?: Absolutely, This recording allowed the D class to listen to 513's Sound with absolutely no adverse Affects. We have successfully found a way to listen to 513's sound without having to worry about the threat of SCP 513-1 any more. Now we may begin to analyze the sound and figure out exactly why this peculiar Cowbell does what it does

The testing Idea is a good idea since if an outside source some how got a recording of SCP 513 we would not know if they could use it a s a weapon or a fear agent. Just a tip the "Analysis and Conclusion" should come after the "Observation/Visual Stimuli" but that won't effect your grade as all the needed details are there. I don't see any other problems, good job.

8.5/10 Grade

+Thumbs up ?
