Shadow showed me the ropes of GL Star Wars RP back when I first started for no benefit of his own. He was an excellent role model when I played on the server and knew when to have fun and when to be serious. In addition to this, he’s always been really good at finding the positives in everyone and is a leader by nature. Don’t think I could’ve made DT Command without him, wishing you nothing but the best Shadow!

I disagree with what someone else has said about this change “taking away” from officers, personally my main concern is that people can reach an NCO rank in most battalions in less than a few weeks. A commander might not even know of an NCO’s existence in the battalion (who has the ability to whitelist), which is a huge problem imo. It sounds nice in theory to give NCOs the ability to whitelist, but would be awful in execution considering the sheer amount of NCOs and the greater potential for them to go rogue.

GMs have zero relevance in regards to battalion matters and don’t perform functions of a regular staff member, so I don’t know why we would allow them to whitelist at all.

As stated above by others, I’ve never seen whitelisting be an actual issue on the server, even if it takes longer than you’d like it to. The worst that happens is you have to wait until the next day for someone to be on to whitelist.

When I was on the server, Starch was one of the kindest HC members and honestly just really fun to be around during events etc. It’s easy to see the hard work he has put in and I have no doubt he would continue to work hard in this new position.

    Best of luck Starch!

  4. I’m not gonna -support this since I haven’t been on the server in a while but I do have a few comments to make regarding this application:

#1- I do not agree with you that the role/purpose of a Brigadier General is simple. You say it’s simple and then list off 5 different major responsibilities a Brigadier General takes on, with multiple of those I perceive to be complex and have subsets of responsibilities within themselves. Example: Overseeing an Army battalion means you have to frequently check in on that battalion, have good reputation with that battalion, and actively listen to that battalion’s wants and needs all the while making sure that the battalion is performing well in a multitude of ways (roster, loadout/general battalion updates, etc). In my opinion, HC roles/purposes should not be considered simple. If they were, anyone could be HC.

#2- I am glad you’ve acknowledged that you’ve done things in the past that have gotten you removed and that you’re trying to grow from them, however by the same token I absolutely do not believe that your path to growth completely mitigates things you have done in the past. People have every right to -support this app due to your past. When you were previously in HC you were making the claim that you were improved from your previous self and then received 2 strikes in your position, whilst being disrespectful to others.

#3- The activity that you portray is just blatantly unrealistic and also doesn’t reflect in battlemetrics. I understand that you have to try to look the best you can on your app, but the reality is that you’re human and you’re not gonna be on all day, every day, 24/7 (with your claim you would have to be showing 17/18 hours daily on battlemetrics). That’s not to say you are/were inactive, when I was on the server you were pretty active, although seeing you AFK wasn’t uncommon either. Why not just put something like “I can usually be on 5-6 hours each day” or at least a realistic rough time-frame? Putting that you can be on literally 24/7 doesn’t really help HC gauge your activity in any sense.

I am not -supporting, but this app does worry me because there are some things here that seem dismissive and similar to your old self.

  5. I may be in the minority here, but as a former RG,

    -support

RG characteristically are extremely powerful against enemies up close and deal massive amounts of damage, and have multiple force abilities to make them even stronger. This should be the main appeal to RG.

Even though the weapons you listed aren’t as powerful, and the weapon kit has no lightsaber,  I still believe this massively takes away from other IPO battalions.

In my opinion, RG are SUPPOSED to be weak at long-range, as a whole, due to their amazing close-range combat abilities, which far exceed those of any other regiment. You can decimate elites with ease up close. Calling for help from other IPO units should be normal, it encourages cross-battalion interactions and lets them do what they’re good at, just like how a DT would call for your help if they saw a Jedi. If another battalion is spread too thin to be of assistance then I feel like that’s a genuine RG weakness being capitalized on, which isn’t a bad thing, it just means more strategy will have to be used due to that weakness.

I don’t mean to come off rude in any sort of way, but if you’re in the mood to just use a blaster then just get on a different life with one. As a DT we can’t just switch over to a DT lightsaber class if we’re tired of using our blasters.

I understand you’re trying to attract people to come join RG, but in my opinion this just definitely isn’t the way to do it.

Final note: I do wonder if some of the problems that plagued RG when I was in the regiment still persist today. I never had a problem with any of the weaponry, I more than loved that. However in my time there was barely any trainings, sims, or activities that RG did and promotions for those of the CDT or RG ranks barely occurred outside of meetings. Player retention in the battalion can have a LOT of factors, not just loadouts.

The dude has been through a lot in DT but has stayed at it through thick and thin. Anomaly has a good head on him and has tons of experience within the battalion at this point. It’s really nice seeing his forward-thinking on this app by discussing things he actually wants to change within the regiment, which seems to be becoming a rarity nowadays. I think his time and dedication to DT shows he is trustable for this position and I have good faith he would fulfill his role as a VCMDR valiantly.

    Best of luck!!

+supporting because I think the way Klondu went about this is wrong, no reason to instantly mute or be rude like this to other players. I also think enforcing a rule that’s not stated in the motd is not the wisest decision, to say the least…also curious as to what higher-up told Klondu this (if any), for context’s sake. In my opinion, demotion is in order.

In Klondu’s slightest defense, I feel that having to speak English as an unspoken rule makes actual, rational sense. If someone comes on the server and starts saying awful things in a language no one can understand, how would the moderation team be able to enforce such a situation? Food for thought.
