Lore Name: Junior Researcher hope
Rank: Junior Researcher
SCP: 1025

Question/Idea: Was SCP-1025 able to manifest even if the reader does not read the contents of the book and was being around SCP-1025 able to cause mental confrontations just by being around the presence of SCP-1025.

Background research: SCP-1025 is a book titled "The encyclopedia of Common Diseases" and was published by an unknown author in 19██; no other copies of SCP-1025 with that title and that of an affect has been found. Readers exhibits symptoms of a disease they read about. SCP-1025 contains 1,500 pages of common diseases all around the world.

Hypothesis: If SCP-1025 was only able to affect one subject at the same time with the disease that the subject read. Then, by not reading the content of the disease, SCP-1025 should not be able to manifest because it has been proven in the past that SCP-1025 only triggered when the readers read the contents of a disease.

Observation: Class-D personnel was brought into SCP-1025 containment chamber by MTF unit. Junior Researcher hope then instructed the class-D personnel to approach SCP-1025 and to also state any pain before and after starting the experiment. Subject reported an ominous feeling after aproaching SCP-1025. JR hope then instructed the subject to not read the contents of the page and quickly open it and closing it. The class-D personnel complied and to JR hope surprise, subject immediately combusted. It was noted that the reader does not need to read the contents of SCP-1025 for it to manifests, it seems that just by touching the book, the reader of SCP-1025 is immediately harmed (mentally or physically). The experiment was then deemed over by JR hope and was called for janitorial service.

Analysis / Conclusion (What Could Of Caused The Results):  If SCP-1025 was only able to affect one subject at the same time with the disease that the subject read. Then, by not reading the content of the disease, SCP-1025 should not be able to manifest because it has been proven in the past that SCP-1025 only triggered when the readers read the contents of a disease. However, the hypothesis was rejected since the subject was deemed KIA on the spot even though he did not read the contents of SCP-1025. Some analysis made was that SCP-1025 was capable of manifesting even if the subject touches the book. JR hope also noted that SCP-1025 has released an ominous feeling just by approaching the book (reported by class-D personnel). Due to the uncertainty of its ability, further testing might be required to determine the true ability of SCP-1025.

Was Your Hypothesis Correct?: The hypothesis was rejected
