Lore Name: M Rank: Lead Researcher SCP: 008 Question / Idea: Is SCP-008 capable of infecting non-human subjects such as a dog? Background Research: SCP-008 is a complex prion with several notable and dangerous anomalous properties. Traits include 100% infectiousness, 100% lethality, it is spread through exposed mucous membranes and all bodily fluids and is not airborne. Infection with SCP-008 essentially turns the infected subject into a braindead husk that will run towards and attack sounds, sights, and smells it perceives as coming from living humans. Although those infected undergo rapid cellular necrosis surviving tissue is highly resilient and subject requires significant cranial trauma to terminate. Hypothesis: There is nothing to suggest that SCP-008's infectivity is mutually exclusive to humans and although it varies greatly from other prion diseases in its anomalous properties, many prions are able to affect most mammals. The dog will most likely be affected by SCP-008. Observations: 1, 4 year old healthy adult female German shepherd in foundation custody was used as a subject for the test. The dog was brought to 008cc for testing. A sample of SCP-008 was taken and swabbed onto the tongue and throat of the dog. Subject was left in 008cc for several hours with no adverse symptoms apparent. Subject had no visual or behavioral signs of 008 infection after approximately 5 hours. Subject was brought to medbay for evaluation by medical staff. MS Blight performed an extensive veterinarian inspection of the subject and reported nothing out of the ordinary for a dog of that breed, age, and sex. All examination suggested that the subject was in perfectly healthy condition. No behavioral changes were detected in the dog who acted normally given the situation. A blood sample was taken and analyzed in the lab. All tests came back nominal for the subject and no 008 contamination was detected. The subject is currently under close foundation supervision and no symptoms have been reported in the last 72 hours since testing occurred. Analysis / Conclusion: Due to the high complexity of 008 and our limited knowledge of how it works, it is hard to say exactly why the subject was not infected. Although many prion diseases affect both humans and animals it appears through this initial testing that at the least canine subjects are not affected by 008 and potentially other animals. Was Your Hypothesis Correct?: No, the dog was not affected by the 008 prion despite other non anomalous document prion diseases affecting both humans and animals. It may be possible that SCP-008 was synthesized as a bio-weapon specifically designed to target and wipe out humans. Further study into this potential origin should be looked into.

Lore Name: Fish Rank: AR SCP: 008 & 714 Question / Idea: the effects of 714 could make a subject wearing it immune to 008's effects Background Research: 714 provides a small amount on protection to the wearer, making them more resilient to damage. Hypothesis: the effects of 714 could provide a subject with immunity, or at the least slow its effects for study Observations (What Happened During Test): the class D used was directed to wear the ring and enter 008 and open it. 5 minutes after exposure the subject was told to close 008 and wait, after 9 hours the subject was told to leave the chamber and take a chemical shower. Evidence/Visual Stimuli: none Analysis / Conclusion (What Could Of Caused The Results): the effects of 008 were slowed or stopped indefinitly Was Your Hypothesis Correct?: Yes. In the file for 008 it says that it occurs over a period of 8 hours while subject was fine after 9 hours

Name: Dapper, Kane, Jimmy Williams Rank: Researcher, Researcher, Researcher SCP: 049-2, 008 Question: Will 008 effect 049-2? Background: -049-2: 049-2 refers to a subject who has been 'cured' by 049. 049-2 has no form of higher brain function and is observed to be nothing more than a mindless drone for 049. -008: 008 is a prion that when affects a subject, turns them into mindless savages Hypothesis: 008 will make 049-2 even more mindless and hostile, though 049's connection may not be broken. Observations: 008 did not effect 049-2 in any way. Analysis: It seems that 008 only attaches to living cells, since 049-2 cells have been observed to be dead.

Name: Fish Rank: AR SCP: 049 and 008 List of Personnel involved in testing: 2 MTF 1 SEC 1 Medical personnel on stand by Level D Personnel involved(if any): One D-Class Question/Preferred Outcome: The question I am trying to answer is if someone is infected with SCP-008; Can SCP-049 cure the infected personnel of the disease. what I am hopping would happen is that SCP-049's cure would override SCP-008's disease. Risks/Safety Precautions: I had 2 MTF, 1 SEC, and 1 medical personnel on stand by. in case things went south I had the MTF AND SEC there to terminate any instantiates of SCP-049 and/or SCP-008 and the medical personnel to reason with SCP-049 if it has infected anyone Background Research: I know that SCP-008 only have 2 cures consuming SCP-500 (placenta), or using SCP-427 witch is slow and not right away although SCP-500 is a effective cure it is a limited resource. and 049's cure is effective and (so far) infinite it would be a great source of a cure. Labor/Work being used: 049 being used as a cure to 008 Observation: although SCP 049 tried to cure SCP-008-2 it did not work Conclusion: SCP-049 is not a cure to SCP-008
