Rank: Associate Researcher(s)
SCP’s: SCP-173/SCP-999
Question / Idea:
Could SCP-999’s affect SCP-173 in a positive manner and would SCP-173 afflict any harm to SCP-999?
Background Research:
SCP-173 is known to be very hostile when eye contact has been removed and will kill it’s victims by snapping their neck at the base of their skull. SCP-999 is known to improve the happiness of the person or creature it’s with. This has been proven via cross testing with 682 and in 999’s general test logs. Review 999-1-A for more information.
Hypothesis: SCP-173 would inflict similar damage to 999 in the way 173 kills its victims? And would 999 affect 173 in any way? Such as hostility.
Observations (What Happened During Test): The following data release has been approved by the following researchers: RS Tyler and ☐☐☐☐. Experiment log T-98725-ARAR999/173: Date: ◼/◼/◼◼: Items: SCP-999 Tissue test record: N/A. SCP 173 Tissue test record: N/A overridden by research command.
Test log: SCP-999 was introduced into the containment area of 173. SCP-999 begins to whimper and press itself against the blast door of 173’s containment chamber. All eye contact and direct video feed was cut and the familiar sound of scraping concrete can be heard within the containment chamber. 5 minutes later, once direct eye contact with 173 was established, one security guard removed SCP-999 from the test chamber. SCP-999 immediately returned to its normal state and appeared to have no types of wounds or markings from 173.
NOTES: After review, It appears that SCP-173 made no attempts to injure SCP-999. It’s like he had no interest and continued to perform it’s natural habits. We believe further testing is required before we can get a definitive answer on why this occurred.
Evidence/Visual Stimuli: Once direct eye contact was re-established with SCP-173, SCP-999 was seen hugging the blast chamber door and made whimpering noises indicating emotional distress from SCP-173’s presence. SCP-173 took no interest in SCP-999, reason as to why it is currently in review.
Was Your Hypothesis Correct?: Yes
