Question / Idea:
Do targets still receive mental trauma after severe injury even though it may have been healed? Background Research:
On occurrence of accidents or just from war anyone who may have been wounded may occasionally face stimuli that recreate a feeling or moment, in some cases reinacting something tramatic may cause PTSD and may even cause psychological pain although the body isn't getting hurt directly. Hypothesis:
Although the physical effect of the event may be gone or healed it doesn't change that it happens so I believe the target may still be in shock.
Observations (What Happened During Test):
Two d-class were used during the test, the first d-class was a healthy middle aged adult, the subject was ordered to enter the room where SCP-500 is contained then told to turn around, after turning around a guard was ordered to shoot both of his knees by a making him drop to the floor and then after a moment ordered to be shot again in his genital regions. The subject due to both shots was in immediate pain and when told to crawl to SCP-500 to retrieve pills did so in agony. After ingesting both pills the d-class shorty stood back up and acted as if nothing happens. The D-Class never spoke about the wounds, we are unsure if this was due to shock of what happens or just due to the fact that the immediate loss of pain shocked him more than the events themselves, regardless the D-Class was set aside for the next test.
The Second test was less eventful with the D-Class already being injured, the guard was used again this time shooting the D-Class in the stomach causing major organ failure. After being shot the D-Class was asked to take the last pill and similarly spoke nothing of his previous injuries.
Both D-Class were given amnesics and returned to the holding area.
Evidence/Visual Stimuli: (Will identify the first D-Class as D-1 and the second as D-2 to make descriptions easier)
D-1 Was in obvious pain dropping to his knees when being shot in them and falling even lower when shot again but after ingesting the pill stood straight up as if nothing happens, there was also no words farther from the regular complaints or shadow legend lines he spat out.
D-2 Not really effected from his previous injuries only started to walk rather than move any faster when he was shot, not much was said from him regardless.
Analysis / Conclusion (What Could Of Caused The Results): Maybe a lack of questioning or the fact that they may have been through worse in their subcontinents although I believe more could have been done.
Was Your Hypothesis Correct?: No, although I do plan on revisiting this test on a more broad field of D-Class to make sure my results are accurate.
