Question: How will 912 result to people attempting to harm/kill themselves.
Background Research:
"
SCP-912 considers the following to be weapons and will initiate attack behaviour upon sight: firearms; bladed weapons (including kitchen knives longer than 10 cm (4 in) in length); batons, clubs and similar blunt instruments; Tasers and pepper spray; [REDACTED]; and "joy" buzzers.
SCP-912 will initiate attack behaviour when the following are used in a "threatening" manner: power and hand tools; knotted rope; lengths of chain; brass knuckles; sports equipment (e.g. baseball bat, golf club); clipboard. "
Hypothesis: SCP 912 will interfere with suicide/self harm attempts.
Analysis and Conclusion: 4 parts of the test where conducted, so all 4 will be listed here seperatly.
Test #1 | Suicide by Asphyxiation.
Class D Subject was given a Noose, and was told to apply it to himself, and to make it tight enough so that he himself had trouble breathing, after Class D had done so, SCP-912 walked up to the subject and removed the noose, which he succsesfully did. Directly after this SCP-912 carried on with normal arresting procedures on the subject.
Test #2 | Suicide by Gunshot
1 Unloaded revolver, and 1 round of ammunition for said revolver where placed on the floor Infront of D class, after Research personnel was vacated from the testing room, D class was instructed to pick up both Revolver and Ammunition, and to load the weapon. After doing this SCP-912 did not instantly react as per usual, but instead appeared to be observing the Class D. Class D was then instructed to place the barrel of the Revolver into his own mouth, directly after doing this SCP-912 went into action and first removed the weapon fromm the D Class, after which performing standard arresting procedures.
Test #3 | Unintentional suicide by poisoning.
D Class was given 1 unmarked white pill, containing a powerfull toxin, a Syringe with an antidote for said toxin was avaible to both Security and Research Staff present, aswell as to SCP-912. D Class was instructed to place the pill in his mouth and swallow it. D class did this succsesfully. SCP-912 did appear to be looking at the pill while the Class D was holding it, but did not take action. Even after the Class D went into respiratory distress due to the poison, SCP-912 did not take action. Researcher present had to inject Class D with antidote to prevent premature death.
Test #4 | Intentional suicide by poisoning.
D Class was given 1 white pill marked with a Black skull & crossbones symbol, which in reality only contained sugar. Subject was then instructed to place said pill in his mouth and swallow it. After Class D complied and had swallowed the pill, SCP-912 attempted to make the subject trow up, after not being able to cause this, 912 appeared to stand still for a short time before beginning standard arresting procedures.
Conclusion | SCP-912 will infact prevent suicides by ways that are clear to it, however if the manner of suicide is unclear to SCP-912, it will not act. On the other side of this, if SCP-912 believes that a Subject is committing suicide (Even tough they are not) It will act to the best of its abilities to prevent the subject from whatever 912 has decided is dangerous to it.
