Lore Name: M Rank: Lead Researcher SCP: 066- Euclid Question / Idea: SCP-066 has been observed multiple times playing Beethoven's second symphony at deafening volumes when in the presence of a human. It is currently unknown why this song is chosen. What would happen if the strings of SCP--066 (which can produce notes on the diatonic scale when plucked) are manipulated and used to play the melody line of the first movement of Beethoven's second symphony? Background Research: SCP-066 is an amorphous mass of braided yarn and ribbon that weighs approximately 1 kilogram. Strands of yarn of SCP-066 can be individually manipulated and plucked which will produce a note on the diatonic scale. Prior to incident 066-2, SCP 066 was classified as safe and produced various benign and even amiable effects when interacted with by humans and when 6 or more notes were produced using its strands of yarn. Incident 066-2, in which a class D, designated D-066-4437, was instructed to use a pair of scissors to cut off a piece of SCP-066 for testing. When D-066-4437 began to cut SCP-066 rolled away to the corner of the room and emitted the phrase, "Are you Eric?" After D-066-4437 replied no, SCP-066 began to morph. Previously SCP-066 was comprised of multicolored yarn with no distinct features but due to the incident stated above the yarn of SCP-066 is now completely red in color and multiple human eyeballs have emerged from inside the mass and are now present on the outside of SCP-066. After incident 066-2, SCP-066 now will produce anomalous effects in the presence of any human regardless of whether or not they have interacted with or manipulated SCP-066. In multiple incidents, SCP-066 has played Beethoven's second symphony at 140 decibels causing in one case permanent deafness and hearing damage in multiple personnel. Hypothesis: SCP-066 will most likely produce some response to Beethoven's second symphony being played on it. It is unknown if SCP-066 will produce a hostile or docile effect but based on its previous history of its usage of the song, a hostile response is most likely to be expected. Proper precautions will be taken. Observations: The test was conducted in the CC of SCP-066 using in ear passive and over ear electronic noise canceling headphones with a NRR (noise reduction rating) of 33 dB, as well as the installation of acoustic foam on the inside of the room to dampen potentially deafening sounds from the inside reaching anyone outside the room. Additionally, no personnel were allowed within 50 meters of the room during the period of testing. A simplified arrangement of the melody line of Beethoven's second symphony 1st movement was used for the test. Upon entering the room SCP-066 was slowly picked up and placed upon a table. Strands of yarn on SCP-066 were then chosen at random and plucked, the note being identified with the help of an automatic tuning device. After all seven notes were identified with no hostile response from SCP-066, testing proceeded. The beginning of the prepared song was the played on SCP-066 using the identified strands to produce the required notes. Upon reaching measure 3 of the song increased activity in SCP-066's eyes was observed as they began to move around more than usual and appeared to be studying the researcher in the room. Immediately upon beginning measure 8 SCP-066 began playing the song on its own from the beginning at a record high and dangerous level of 155 decibels. Testing was immediately halted and researcher evacuated the room. SCP-066 stopped playing the song shortly after all personnel left the area. Minor hearing damage was sustained during testing by research personnel but the majority of damage was negated by headphones, although continued exposure would have proved dangerous. Evidence/Visual Stimuli: SCP-066 after incident 066-2 Analysis / Conclusion: SCP-066 seemed to recognize the song being played on its yarn as shown by its increased eye movement and interest in research personnel. It is unknown why SCP-066 had a seemingly hostile reaction to the song after reaching measure 8 or if the measure is even related although the last note played by the researcher on SCP-066 was a D which is the tonic note of the key the piece is written in as well as the first note of the piece. It is possible that SCP-066 perceives this song as a sign of aggression and uses the song when it feels threatened and as such responded with hostility when another entity replicated that same song using its own yarn. Was Your Hypothesis Correct?: Yes, not only did SCP-066 produce a response, but it was also hostile as predicted although it is still unknown exactly why this is the case. Further research would be difficult and dangerous, and it is unknown the maximum volume SCP-066 is capable of producing as this test yielded the highest volume ever produced by SCP-066 to date and it is still possible that the entity is capable of even higher volumes. Lore Name: Jr Zemmy Rank: Jr SCP: 066 Question / Idea: would the SCP play its melody in self defense Background Research: the Scp has only been known to play its song when you say the word Eric Hypothesis: if a D class punched Scp-066 in the eye it would play its melody Observations (What Happened During Test): the class D subject was instructed to punch the Scp in one of its eyes in response the Scp played its melody. after which it asked the D class subject if it was Erik with no response the melody was played again Analysis / Conclusion (What Could Of Caused The Results): The Scp out of fright had an instinct response to play the melody Was Your Hypothesis Correct?: Yes the melody was played and the Scp was angered
