SCP: SCP 1048

Question / Idea: If a person's real ears were to be replaced by wax replicas, would SCP 1048 be able to tell the difference?

Background Research: SCP 1048 is a small teddy bear shaped SCP. It is object class Keter, and is 33 centimeters in height. subject is capable of moving on it's own accord and can communicate through a small range of gestures. It has been recorded to take human ears in order to construct replicas of itself (See SCP 1048-A).

Hypothesis: I think SCP 1048 will take the "ears" of the person and treat them as it would actual human ears.

Observations (What Happened During Test): After a very long surgery courtesy of the site's surgeons, D Class-6642 had his ears completely removed and replaced with wax molded replicas. This left the d class personnel without hearing capabilities, and from here on out, had to be communicated with through sign language, courtesy of another researcher, who has requested to not be named. I along with a security escort took the D class to SCP 1048's containment chamber, and instructed for him to enter while 1048 was looking away. We had given him a sharp stick and had instructed him to poke 1048 with it repeatedly, as we had thought this would anger 1048. As predicted, in an act that was very fast and efficient, while the D class personnel was leaning down to poke 1048, he had pulled off the wax ears, causing the d class personnel to fall backwards in surprise. SCP 1048 then scuttled into the corner of his containment chamber, and stashed the ears in a way that seems like he was trying to hide them from foundation personnel.

Analysis / Conclusion: SCP 1048 either can't tell the difference between wax and real ears, or simply does not care.

Evidence/Visual Stimuli: N/A

Was your hypothesis correct?: Yes, my hypothesis was correct.
