[DEFN] Jake Puffin
Rank: Associate Researcher Jake Puffin Clearance Level: 3 List of Personnel involved in testing: MTF Nu7 SGT Niro NO87 - MTF Nu7 PVT Ritz RI07 Level D personnel involved: D-9856 (Abejx) SCP: 096 & 999 Errors and/or safety hazards: D-Class may attempt to escape, and if 096 is looked at, it could lead to danger, we also want 999 to avoid eye contact with 096, as it will be instructed not to watch. Question: If SCP-096 enters a frenzied state, is it possible that SCP-999 can calm the frenzy or even completely stop the frenzy. Background Research: http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-096 - http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-999 Hypothesis: The effects of SCP-999 will have an absolute effect on SCP-096. This should lead SCP-096 to calm itself without having to eliminate a targeted entity. Observation/Visual Stimuli(Photos/videos): N/A (096) Analysis and Conclusion: D-9856 entered the cell along with SCP-999. After looking at 096's face, D-9856 started yelling as 096 grew distressed. SCP-999 was ordered to step in to attempt to calm down SCP-096. SCP-096 did not seem phased by SCP-999 touching it, as it continued to slaughter the D-Class that was used. MTF Units escorted SCP-999 back to Light Containment. Note: Post-test, it can be noted that SCP-096 was quicker to decompress and calm down after the viewer of its face was slain. While it usually takes around ten (10) to twelve (12) seconds for SCP-096 to calm, it only took three (3) to calm SCP-096 after the D-Class was slain.Addendum 1A: SCP-999 seemed quite distressed about the situation afterward. It should be noted that testing involving both SCP-999 and SCP-096 should be canceled from further on out, as to not strain SCP-999. Do your results align with your hypothesis?: In conclusion, the test results sadly didn't align with my hypothesis.SCP-999's anomalous properties are unable to effect SCP-096 during a frenzied state. Jazbub
Very awesome concept. Personally, I think it’s more of a sentient factor. Strictly speaking wether it’s feral, and or has emotions to even be phased by SCP - 999. I usually don’t comment, but had to on this as I also thought of this. So I am also saddened that it didn’t workout and 096 is most likely a feral, ravenous, impossible to negotiate with monster. Keep up the great work!! Also congratulations on your promotion!
