American’s Senior Moderator Application - Denied

5. Do you have any other experience with staffing?: (If yes, explain): Yes, I was a staff member for 2 months in a star wars roleplay server for IceFuse Networks. And now I’ve been staffing for Gaminglight since July 7th, so it’s been a little over 2 months.

6. What date did you start playing on the community? (roughly): My first appearance in the Gaminglight community was in the Imperial role-play server 285 days ago. Then made my appearance in the SCP role-play server 277 days ago.

7. What date did you make your forums account?: May 30th, 2022

8. How many warnings do you have on all GL servers?: 0 still. (Proof provided)

9. What is your donor rank? (User, Silver, Gold, etc): Platinum

10. Are you a staff member in another community?: No.

11. Have you read the staff handbook?: Yep.

13. What rank are you applying for?: Senior Moderator

14. Why do you believe that you deserve the rank? (150 Word Minimum): I feel that I’ve been staffing for quite a bit now and have gotten a good grasp on the rules, the role-play, and how everything works in the server. I feel that I am ready to head to the next level and know that as a Senior moderator would now be able to issue out a maximum of a 3 day ban when I feel it’s needed in the situation. I feel that I know how to take basic sits and judge certain scenarios on my own, and hand out punishments that I feel are needed in the situation. I understand the responsibilities of my rank and also the consequences if I do not uphold to my rank or responsibilities. I’ve have been a moderator for quite a bit now, and have just never had the time to make a senior moderator app, nor did I feel I was ready in a way. But I do now feel more confident then ever and feel that I’m ready.

Scenario questions:

Q1: How would you handle someone that is Mass RDMing and when you bring him/her to an admin sit all they do is curse at you?: The first thing that I feel is needed would be to gag the person. I would then try to calm the player and try to explain the player that cursing at me would only make the situation worse for him. I would ask the player why they did what they did. After, everything I would ungag the player and punish them accordingly.

Q2: You are involved in a staff sit that involves 5 different players. The players begin to get frustrated and the sit becomes very toxic and unproductive. What would you do in this situation? I would start off by separating the players into whatever groups/sides they were on into separate corners, or if their is none then individually separate them all. I would then go to each player/group and get all the details and evidence from them. I would also explain to them that they also need to calm down, because this could effect their situation and side. Once I’ve gathered all the evidence from the players I would then come to a conclusion and hand out any punishments that I feel is fit and necessary.

Q3: In your opinion, what is the best way to handle a situation involving a player that clearly does not care about the punishments they are receiving? I would explain to the player what they are being punished for and the punishment that would be handed out to them. I would also explain to them that their tone and attitude that they were giving them would only make the situation worse for them, and that it wouldn’t help them at all. I’d then give punish them accordingly for whatever punishment they were receiving in the first place.

Q4: There is a player abusing a known bug, and he has been reported to staff. He swears he followed the server rules when you talk with him. What's the best way to handle this? I would first check the players prior warns to see if he’s had a history of breaking rules like this in anyway. I would then ask the player to show the bug and gather the evidence for both evidence of the abusive bug and for against the player. I would explain to the player why he can’t do something like that, and would then punish him accordingly.
