What you want to see? -  reduce sprint speed when having a shield out

Why should we add it? -  its very frustrating and completely unrealistic to see ppl with max sprint speed available to them, run backwards with a shield out going Mach 10 then insta switch to a barret and kill you.

What are the advantages of having this? - makes it somewhat fair

Who is it mainly for? - crim

Unless we plan to make it so crime can't spam jump with Negev's as well.

now i do agree with your statement. do realize running with a shield backing up is a counter to someone with negav spam jumping all over the place making it hard to hit the person. this is a semi serious rp server after all and in the past it has been said to be a strategy for gov to use to counter what crim has. also you guys have 190 or maybe close to 200 armor which is close to most tac department jobs i believe so you have good chance killing gov even though they have shields

Fighting 4 crim when theres only 1 of us and you all have close to 200 armor EARCH, the same / if not better weapons; in an open space like a road or what not, there is no real counter in an open space like that. Jumping around while holding LMG's & Heavy Ar's isnt super realistic either but, we still do it, cause it's semi serious. It's one of the few counter Gov have left currently to beating these massive basically tac unit families.

I didnt see this suggestion going anywhere, i figured all the gov mains were going to mass -support this, but dont you think its quite unfair that someone who has max sprint speed and a shield which is almost as large as the entire players body and is running backwards? I understand we are semi-serious but we are still a roleplay server.

This shouldn’t be changed, Gov use it as a good strategy and tactic when in different situations. I know realistically speaking u wouldn’t run super fast with a shield it’s going to weigh you down but at the same time I think it’s perfectly fine how it is, nothing worse of nerfing more and more things gov need and have to a point gov is unplayable anymore for being weak altogether against a bunch of criminals weather it’s bunch of people with CCs and they all have Negevs and Barrett’s to normal Crim jobs using other weapons, hence therefore I don’t think this should be changed of the movement speed of slowing down with the shield we already have slower movement with Govs (TAC) different heavy jobs with LMGs not to mention u slow down with the longbow out etc

+support the jobs on gov that have LMG's have a slower run speed to level out the fact they got a LMG maybe we could add this but not make it so slow theres no point in using shields but make it a little slower when used

that's exactly what I was meaning about this post, I don't want to nerf their speed entirely, I would just like to see a 10-15% speed reduction nothing too big nothing too small just something that can even it out a little bit. Others can use the excuse that we have more armor than a lot of tac departments, which simply isn't true, with a fully loaded cc we are rocking 190 armor, the thing is with most tac departments that's not even close, most classes have 50-60 more armor than us and that isn't even mentioning their faction boosts that they get, which would give them about 20-40 more armor 🤷‍♂️, and too top it off they all get A LOT of sprint speed, fully loaded class's with the best weapons in the game, when its the simple fact that we have numbers in terms of players vs them in situations if gov had the same numbers as we do in normal fights lets say a 5v5 we would most likely all die or it would be close to like a 1v1 or 1v2 type scenario, the simple fact is we negev bhop and all this other movement stuff is because we cant counter gov bhopping backward with shields and running away with max sprint speed. It's just simply unfair so that's why we chose different methods of combat in order to win. It wouldn't be fun to constantly die to gov over and over again if we had limitations meanwhile you guys get to keep your current combat methods, such as example, bhopping backward with shields.
 

The bottom line is we as a faction didn't make up these armor numbers, we are at our current armor because of faction boosts which only SMT can set, and the simple fact that we grinded to this point is that we deserve it, we put hours each day grinding to where we are so complaining about how much armor we have isn't our fault we are just simply playing the game fair and square.

Everything said here is just literally an opinion, this should not be taken personally because this is not personal. This is however to correctly discuss and debate over said subject covered under GL forums rule #1 and #14.

1. ) We can agree to disagree my lovely Commander. I do not think this strategy is used properly by enlisted tactical units using a shield.

2. ) You admitted this suggestion is realistic which is very correct, however I understand this server is semi serious because that is a good argument, but more realism I feel like can really benefit the server as a whole.

1. ) I understand you are frustrated as being forced to deal with criminals (your main job is to specialize in that), I would assume you would be talking about Shadow Legacy. Fighting the biggest criminal organization is not meant to be easy, it is meant to be a challenging task. As government you are suppose to be doing routine trainings as we did back in the day to practice breaching, situations, roleplay, and tactical awareness. Criminals catch many government off guard because I feel like a lot of government officials (mostly tactical units) are not trained properly as they should be to deal with these threats.

1. ) The strategy would be to use your other special utilities which includes Climb Swep, Explosive Barrett's, Gas, grenades, flash bangs, smoke, and State Motorcycles as an advantage over criminal players within the city. Criminals sadly do not have access to these utilities, they serve a great purpose which I feel like government officials need to utilize them more as a government player. I utilize these equipment and I always find myself on top of the game against criminal players.

Overall

There is two sides to every coin and in this situation both sides bring up good points however I feel like an alternative, this would be restricting shields for specific classes. These classes would be command members, and breacher classes. These classes during their specialist training will properly learn how to use the shield in combat. I feel like that will be a better option than just removing shield run speed. Shields are expensive to make in real life, and one shield per squad is more realistic. The tantamount to this would be having at least one or two breachers on for each department to utilize the shield when needed would fit that criteria. Since the medics/sniper classes get cool things, then well it would be beneficial for breachers to get exclusive stuff.
