General suggestion - Internal Security Department - Denied

What are you suggesting? - I'm suggesting that a small branch get added in. This branch would be called "Internal Security." The Internal Security Department would be a team that is responsible for making sure that all Foundation personnel are loyal. They achieve this by tracking down rogue personnel and interrogating or terminating traitors within the ranks of the Foundation. The department's operations are usually kept secret. The Internal Security Department is responsible for maintaining security and order throughout the SCP Foundation. They are allowed to go anywhere in the facility, with the exception of D-Block.

If not a seperate branch then perhaps this could be turned into a sub branch?



What I'm mainly wanting to see made is a department that focuses on RP as well as pvp.

Are there any disadvantages of making this change to the server? If so, explain. -  It would just be another Branch filling up the f4 menu, This branch could also be abused by mingy players but you could say that about any department with a keycard and a gun. The department could be accused of being too powerful, as they are allowed to go anywhere in the facility and have level 3 clearance but this could be fixed by revoking the level 3 clearance from recruit/enlisted ranks and restricting their access to certain zones.

Who would this change mostly benefit? - The players that want a mix of PVP and RP. I could be wrong but I haven't really seen MTF or Gensec doing any rp other than the occasional events, pts, or escorts. What I'm looking for is a branch that would focus more on RP but has the option to PVP as well.

Side note: This isn't the best idea. It's more of a rough draft for a department that I  think could be a really fun department to see within the server.

I definitely like this idea, but I think it would realistically be incorporated into another branch (Such as Security) in the form of a sub-branch of sorts. The issue is that creating an ENTIRELY new branch requires the creation of a new section, 5 new jobs, the implementation of new models, and a bunch of other stuff including possibly unique guns will create more server lag inevitably because we already have so many models on the server. Besides, other branches already partially do this job through ID Checks and interrogations (Such as Wardens and other SF's).

This is just another branch doing what other branches already do. However, I would love to look into something along these lines for Security in the form of potentially a new sub-branch or class.

After reading your comment I 100% agree. Although it would be fun to see it as a seperate branch I do have to agree with you on a few points. Yes, it would cause more lag and the server is laggy enough.

Yes, Wardens and other branches already do most of the things I mentioned in the suggestion, when making the suggestion I had thought it would be more fun to have a branch that focuses on interrogations and ID checks. But looking at your reply made me realize that there really is no need for a seperate department. Thanks for the reply!

-support we have D5 that acts like the military police already, fulfilling KOS/AOS orders called out on personnel amongst other things.  I don't think we need a new branch that does the same thing they already do

+support I love the idea of having an internal security department my only thing is I would want this branch to be donator only and not be a real branch.

Similar to how sarkic is. It’s a job for people to play on that requires a donation ( Civil gamers has a similar thing) to play on. This could also increase donations for people who want to play on donator jobs

If you like this sort of experience I can say that you’ll probably find it in many of the sub branches (Research Field Agent, Covert Agent, Cryptography Task Force, Wardens) as they have the chance to work on this kind of thing.

Just takes away from other branches on what they already do. The idea isn't bad to begin with but if you wanna do stuff like this D5 is the closest thing to it.
If you really want roleplay you can always create the roleplay yourself, all branches allow you to do something akin to the things your suggestion offers.

As said by these other posts, most of the things this new branch would be involved in are already able to be done by various other groups. I think a good take away from this post is more RP opportunity (and more importantly more encouragement) for Combative branches.

I would say -Support to making a new branch but would be somewhat more open to the idea of a new/reworking an existing sub-branch to fulfil the specific identity of a "site agent" although that sounds a lot like the internal affairs in research's RFA.
