SteamID:

Current Rank:

Lead Researcher.

Time in Research (Estimate):

My very first post in Research was submitted on 9/6/2019. Back in November of 2019, I posted a resignation from research and went on reserve. I did not join Research until just under a week ago, but it would not be the end of my experience with researching SCPs in general.

If you only count my experience in the Research faction itself, then I have been in Research for a grand total of two months. But, if you also count my experience in CI RnD when I returned in 2021, then you can add an additional two months of experience to researching SCPs on the server, for a total of four months of roleplay in Research/RnD. A good portion of this time is experience in the command sector of these factions, with me having past experience of being Junior Command in Research itself, as well as Delta Command in RnD.

Why do you believe you should be in Research Command?(100 word requirement):

I was advised to hold off on my application until I am off my trial period since coming off reserve. If you do not support this application because you wish for me to first complete my trial period, I understand entirely. The only reason I am applying early is because I have noticed a desperate need for active command in the Research faction. I've been extremely active for the past week, having been conducting experiments as both Bright and Thaddeus before I officially rejoined Research. In that time, I have noticed the difficulties that enlisted members of Research face in achieving their dreams within the faction. It seems impossible for them to gain permissions to test on SCPs that they can be supervised during. Command are often offline, and as I write this the section for Junior Command in the roster is completely empty. I want with all my heart to be able to fill this void-- To give Researchers the experience I know they could have. But in order to do that, I would need to be a part of command.

I see a massive amount of potential in our enlisted members-- A potential that I know should be drawn out from them and grown over the course of their stay in our faction. If I were so able, my position in command would enable me to reward them for their creative expression and research activities by granting promotions outside of just attending meetings-- By approving and supervising experiments that they would otherwise have to wait up to a week just for their request to be noticed on Discord. I believe that if I am approved for command, whether it be now or after my period of trial for returning from reserve ends, that I can do a lot to bring Research together and inspire others to succeed in our branch.

What can you bring to the table that others can't? (100 word requirement):

I have been a member of Gaminglight's SCPRP for three years now. I know its community in and out-- I have tried nearly every faction, acquired every perspective from every little community that makes up the whole of our server. With this understanding I feel I can truly reach out and connect to others, not just people within our own faction, but others-- Utility, Medical, Security, MTF, CI, they all have amazing potential and are full of inspired people. By getting these other factions more involved with our experiments through my own tests, and mass tests to encourage others to do the same, I feel I can pull the Gaminglight community just a little closer together.

I have also not forgotten my long walk in the shoes of the enlisted. I know well the thoughts and feelings and aspirations that a new member of Research will have-- And those who are truly committed to the roleplay and to expressing their creativity will get along with me. I have noticed many of the people on this server are becoming disillusioned with the roleplay-- It doesn't inspire them any more, as they feel that the server is slowing turning into a TDM. I want to revitalize the roleplay experience-- To get people involved, and get them using their wonderful minds. If I am to join command, I will foster this creative growth with my high level of activity on the server- Always being present to approve and supervise inspired tests from our enlisted ranks, and reviewing their documents to provide advice and guidance in their expression (not to mention, being someone who is present to wholeheartedly review their documents in the first place. I have noticed that not every document on the forums receive a review, and those who do often take time to receive a review. This is something I would work day and night to change, if I need review every document myself!)

What would you do to better Research and increase activity? (100 word requirement):

I have spoken to more than a handful of enlisted Research members since rejoining the server a little while ago, and their biggest issue with Research is that it is often unrewarding for participation. The experience gain provided for conducting Research is not enough-- And in my opinion, this experience was never meant to be the sole motivator for Research in the first place. Command, due to its lack of members and lack of activity, struggles to review documents and, because of this fact, often misses out on some amazing pieces of creative expression! If I were to be accepted into Research command, I would see to it that these efforts of our enlisted members do not go unnoticed-- Reviewing, grading, and guiding their documentation, as well as even promoting those who stand out in our branch!

By doing this, the desire to continue contributing to Research will doubtlessly grow. When our enlisted feel noticed and rewarded for their efforts, then those feelings will grow into a heightened inspiration to continue their work! I know this, because that is the experience I had when I first walked in the shoes of an enlisted back in 2019. I poured my heart and soul into my documentation, and the command members back then took notice and rewarded me for my work. That feeling still warms my heart to this day, and it is something I wish to re-introduce into Research as a whole.

I might not be in research, but I see this guy on like every day now and he is absolutely kicking ass. Definitely fit to be a member of CMD from what I've seen of him.

I'd like to see this guy in Research Command! He seems to know what he's fucking doing as a hardcore veteran of GL, and he understands what's currently struggling in the branch very well!

Yeah, he only came back a few days ago, so I'm a bit skeptical, but aside from that I am fully for this guy in command.
