General Suggestion - AFK Button, Auto-AFK Time, and Auto-Kicking people off of limited jobs if they're AFK - Denied

What are you suggesting?

In addition to the current system in which a user is automatically marked as "AFK" after 30 minutes of not interacting, there should be a button you can click to enable this feature as well. Perhaps in the F4 Menu. Additionally, the time to automatically mark someone as AFK should be moved down to 15 minutes. Users who aren't interacting in-game for 15 minutes obviously aren't there and I don't see why it should be at 30 minutes.

Lastly, those who are marked as AFK (either by clicking a button or automatically being marked as AFK) should be automatically demoted / removed from limited jobs (Ex. Security Wardens Exspira, MTF Stealth Operative, and others). Of course, SCMD, HCMD, and SA jobs should be exempt from this for obvious reasons. Additionally, Trainee jobs should be exempt, and if this were to be implemented, branch HCMD could pick and choose which jobs they want to auto-demote people off of when they're marked as AFK.

How would this change better the server?

For the first point, going AFK becomes much simpler and it gives not only a more accurate depiction to the rest of the server of who's actually playing (preventing CI raids in some instances, or allowing people to make decisions based on this).

For the second point, it makes it much less of a hassle for both CMD, Staff, and even the AFK player to take time to demote someone off a job for something they shouldn't be doing in the first place. People can easily hop back onto the job once they get back so it doesn't have any negative impact.

Are there any disadvantages of making this change to the server? If so, explain.

None that I can personally see, the only possible "disadvantage" is less CI raids

Who would this change mostly benefit?

Seems to be a good idea, but you should be able to click the afk button again once you come back to be put back on the job you were on.
Also it should only demote you from some jobs (If possible)

It wouldn't allow me to put a link in here so you are stuck with this

If it doesn't hinder server performance with all the code that's running, I'm down. And if Colt can push it of course 😄

I feel it should be 15-20 mins because I don’t want my trainee who is reading the sop and installing teamspeak, or even if they are taking the test to teleport to their spawn.

(Basically I am saying people usually take little longer than 10 minutes in trainings tabbed out doing the stuff to get trained)

Overall I'm going to give a -Support

The time being only 10 mins seems a bit extreme

I also don't like the idea of auto demoting people off the job as different branches have different rules

 

However I would like an AFK button

I would put the auto timer to 20 minutes because a lot of people go afk after CI raids because we have a 15 minute raid timer. Other than that I think this would be a cool addition.

Taking all of these into consideration, I've revised my suggestion. Specifically I've increased this timer to 15 minutes and noted that Branch HCMD should be able to pick which jobs they don't want people AFKing on to have this auto-demote feature. Additionally, I've made it so that trainee jobs should also be exempt from being auto-demoted.

Reason why its not 15mins and currently set too 25mins is bc in some cases like scp self breaching players go afk for at least 20mins so it be unfair to respawn a player just bc they wanted to watch a video while waiting nlr etc. I think 25mins is a nice spot currently. 

Finally on your other point on moving players off limited jobs, we cant do that as that would mean players could no longer afk on custom jobs which would basically make them pointless then. If you ever see a player afk on a limit job and number of staff or cmd players would be happy to demote them for you.

Denied. The SCP-RP SMT has decided against adding this suggestion for performance reasons, the benefit to the server, or another unstated reason.
