Cuffing change proposal - Denied

*Disclaimer* I'm only suggesting this to see what people think. Provide honest opinions with constructive feedback.

What are you suggesting? - Shooting at cuffed people damages yourself or doesn't do any damage.

How would this change better the server? - Few things:

  • It would help increase the lack or RP for some branches since obtaining hostages is more guaranteed.
  • Feeding SCPs would also be easier since people can't kill D-class on the way to get fed.
  • Make things harder for opposing branches if their member is being captured, they would have to clear our all attackers to get back their hostage, requiring more tactics and combat.

Are there any disadvantages of making this change to the server? If so, explain. - There are a lot of disadvantages.

  • Cuffing (and some SOP) rules would need adjustments
  • Kidnapping would probably increase and that might annoy people
  • Can be exploited
  • Would need to be coded (Lack of addon/cannot find)
  • Once you are captured, you should pretty much expect not to get saved since it would be way harder now.

Who would this change mostly benefit? - People who like RP. (interrogating/brainwashing/testing)

Please link any workshop content, screenshots, or anything that you think may be helpful to those who view this suggestion - N/A. Couldn't find any.

I do think its a good idea, but damaging yourself would be unfair i think.

I almost think that having it do heavily reduced damage (like 75% resistance) for cuffed people

Reduced damage would be enough. Not full invincibility though, I feel like that would cause a huge shift in the dynamics of capturing people, and not necessarily for the better.

I think reducing is a fair system, after all they’re likely to protect their captured person but that doesn’t stop all the damage, only some. I think this could be an interesting change, only downside is as you mentioned it’d have to be coded by Coltable as there’s no available addon.

Maybe add a Combat-Engagement system? So anytime Damage is dealt a customized Cuff simply won't work? 

Either way. If it's Doable. +Support

It is a good idea, but if MTF got captured or maybe a redacted personnel, you wouldn't be able to kill them.

Seeing as this suggest was more for feedback im gonna go ahead and deny it, your welcome however to make a new post actually suggesting a change to cuffing in the future.
