Bear_ Posted February 10, 2022 Share Posted February 10, 2022 Battalion Name: Stormtrooper Corps This post is specifically around the suggestion of making Stormtrooper proper a detachment of Chimaera. AKA: Grand Admiral Thrawn's ship detachment. I see an opportunity to bring something very cool to the server and Stormtroopers alike. We have 501st which is a detachment of Darth Vader's Battalion. I see the same opportunity for Stormtroopers and Grand Admiral Thrawn. Additionally, Stormtroopers have gone without some love for a long time or updates, besides Shoretroopers. I recognize this is a fairly large pack but extracting the specific models, optimizing, or reducing the textures on them should reduce them to an acceptable MB size. Here is the aforementioned model pack: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=907308417&searchtext=chimaera Battalion/Jobs targeted [Stormtrooper]:CMDR, VCMDR, Officer, NCO, & Heavy Trooper. CMDR and VCMDR share the same model, both classes currently wear an Orange pauldron. One is included in this pack for them but if it is possible, I am suggesting a small edit to make a duplicate of one of the models with a Red pauldron for the Commander & Vice Commander Job Model. Then, move the Orange pauldron to the Officer Job as a "Captain" job. This is how it is followed in lore and how it would be suggested for the Scout Company rework as well. The Magmatrooper or Black pauldron model can be moved to the Stormtrooper Heavy/Magmatrooper job (whichever gets accepted).Link to current models that are requested to be replaced (if replacing):- Content size: I could not find the current Stormtrooper models in the C menu, Q menu, or subbed items list.Link to new models: See above.- Content size: Total size 90.051 MBs but this is for all the models in this pack. I am only suggesting: Stormtrooper Commander, Stormtrooper Officer, Stormtrooper Sergeant, and Magmatrooper. (These are the names in the pack. They are titled as thrawn_ in the Q menu).How would this benefit the server (will it help battalion/server activity and how?): Stormtroopers historically have had very chaotic activity and also being labeled as the starter battalion where people wanted to leave it. Both myself and others want to change that. Give ST purpose besides just being in Army while also giving those that join a want to stay in the ranks. I understand new players are expected to branch out and join other battalions but I want to give them a reason to stay. 501st's activity has surged lately since the Darth Vader promotion and I believe this is a very good example of what could happen if this were to be added. If the new pack is larger in size, do you believe the benefits exceeds the risk of adding more content to the server (risking loading times and possible performance) and why?: I believe the benefit from something like this exceeds the risk of adding to the server. Replacement of models that seem very bland and have very little to no life. The Heavy job currently has the base ST model on it and could do with an update other than weapons or armor.
