General Suggestion - Allow EOI/Maynard to hack R.I.S Units - Denied

What are you suggesting? - Allow R.I.S units to be hacked by EOI and Maynard in a similar manner to HLPR bots if they aren't partaking/escorting in a test

How would this change better the server? - It would allow Maynard and EOI to utilize R.I.S units similar to hacked HLPR bots, While R.I.S can technically already escort both of these two without hacking, It's entirely optional for them to, And it'd make sense that both R.I.S and HLPR bots can be hacked.

Are there any disadvantages of making this change to the server? If so, explain. - Not that I could think of, Research would still get their escorts, Maynard and EOI get more chances to hack things.

Who would this change mostly benefit? - EOI/Maynard

Please link any workshop content, screenshots, or anything that you think may be helpful to those who view this suggestion - N/A

Our RIS units are a tool, something to allow our researchers to test in bad hours for combatants. They stay out of CI's business, we want to keep CI out of their business.

R.I.S units are meant to escort researchers when combatants are either low on numbers or unavailable and while the idea seems promising I wouldn't want to be a researcher who needs an escort and cant get one if the only RIS unit got hacked

Would like this too. Better for hlpr bots to be used to cause havok, like killing ppl, or single tasks like hunt down a person.

Then ris units being used as eacorts. As they are meant to be escorts.

Uhhh... correct me if I do happen to be wrong, but from what I know: R.I.S units are fully permitted to just shoot CI since they are a combative class, and most of the time: they do, if it were more like Containment Specialist then I'd get that.

And this is also why I slid in the rule that EOI/Maynard can only do this if they AREN'T escorting/partaking in a test, So if the R.I.S was actually actively doing something with research or whoever or EVEN if they just PLANNED to, Maynard and EOI cannot interfere at all, But then if the R.I.S units are just running around not doing anything or helping anyone, Then they'd be able to be hacked.

But yeah, I get where your coming from.

The key difference here is that HLPR bots are on their own, they do the same things a normal maintenance would. RIS, on the other hand, are on the job to help researchers (or are at least supposed to be, we know that there are some that just use it instead of getting on a combatant branch which we want to cut down on and make sure they have priorities straight)

I like how people say R.I.S don't interfere with ci and then when ci seems them they always get blasted by them even if they are escorting.

+Support would be a cool gameplay feature  that would make playing eoi and maynard more fun and you know hacking robots to do your own bidding without them getting seen would add to the stealth mechanic maynard and the eoi have

As of right now this is not intended and I would recommend bringing this up to command if you do see this. They are not meant to be first engagement in any combat scenario while escorting. However, if you do ever approach a researcher and they shoot they are well within their right to do so.

What I would like instead is with the revitalization of EOI and Maynard stealth to add a new robot combatant class for a branch. Maybe it could be D5s thing?

Agreed. When first implementing the RIG unit I did take this into consideration.
I do not believe this is in the best benefit for the class.

However in the unfortunate event of implementation I would advocate making it a harder hack then
a HLPR. As a RIS unit is considered a combatant, a loadout to match and looser weapons restrictions independent of rank.
Whilst HLPR bots being restricted to their rank guidelines.
