Rule Addition: Teamspeak - Denied

Neo

Recommended Posts

What you want to see?
To have the SCP rules clearly state if Teamspeak is either in or out of character.

Why should we add it?
To clear confusion.

What are the advantages of having this?
To clear confusion.

Who is it mainly for?
Everyone!
(Multiple staff have different answers).

I honestly have no clue, some people say it's in RP others say it isn't.

I don't know about your TS room but in security at the bottom it says: 8ccb4f9303d871c86190db2737c8fcfa.png

Our Teamspeek server is meant for out of character interactions. In Character is meant for in game. I am not sure where this all started about RP in TS, but it was never a thing and it will not be a thing.

People use it for when patrolling/just rping As we dint have radios like prp. So we usually use ts to shout stuff out/communicate.

So whats the point of in game radios? If I am not mistaken every server has some sort of communications system, including adverts or comms. You can use Teamspeak for in-game meetings to be in character, but if people don't use the radios or comms, then whats the point of them?

@MaxPeople still mostly use radios to communicate in game, but sometimes it is easier to talk to your teams and groups in each server through teamspeak then it is to pull out a radio or find them in game.

In game is in character. Teamspeak is OOC UNLESS you are in an rp related channel (MTF, Patrol, ETC)

Our TS has certain OOC and Out of Game channels, perhaps it would be better if all branches had rp channels and a Off-Duty lounge.

This is not going to be something that is enforced. It seems that different people commanders/branches have different views. We are not adding more channels to the already large amount of channels we already have. General rule of thumb is that we don't RP in TS. If a group of people are using a channel to RP then they should let everyone in the channel know and any new people joining.

Ngl this one is about SCPRP but to me it would be easier to use TS to communicate with members of your Unit so you dont have to pull out a Radio and risk being Fear RPd by CI if they are raiding at the time.

Please stop +/- Supporting this post. If you have something to add to contribute to the topic then do so. If I do not see anything convincing evidence pointing otherwise in the next 24H, i am locking this post and will refer anyone to what i have posted above.

So in real life how do you think police officer or army or any other unit communicate? With a radio. Do you think they have to pull out the radio to talk? They do. Also you can't exactly exclude one part of teamspeak with different rules, the rules have to be for the whole team speak.

I think that in practice, this is not used for any matter of actual "RP", its used so that people know if them calling people out over TS the few seconds before they are shot is actually a valid call instead of metagame.
