CASE FILE: C-15171

FULL NAME: █████  ███████ SWAIN(SYNARI)

POSITION AS OF TEST: RESEARCHER

LEVEL OF CLEARANCE: LEVEL-3

ADDITIONAL PERSONNEL INVOLVED: ████  ████ EARL [SUPERVISOR], MTF ████ SPOOKYDRWOLFE

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

DATE AND TIME: 2019-13-10 (3:14PM)

SCP INVOLVED AND TESTED: SCP-457 (EUCLID)

NUMBER OF D-CLASS PERSONNEL INVOLVED: 2 (ONE ALIVE, ONE DECEASED)

SITE OF TESTING:  SITE 05, █████████

ZONE(S) OF EXPERIMENT: LIGHT CONTAINMENT ZONE

TYPE OF EXPERIMENT: UTILIZATION

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

OBJECTIVE OF EXPERIMENT:
To determine if SCP-457 has the ability to reach a burning point to use undesirable objects as fuel,
and if the burning of such objects can be harnessed in the form of energy.

HYPOTHESIS:
SCP-457 will stop at nothing to burn all that it is given. This is the very reason why even down
to the paint used in his containment is fire-retardant. It will use anything at it's disposal
for fuel, giving the foundation an opportunity to utilize SCP-457 as a self-sufficient
incinerator with the added functionality of creating and storing energy.

ACTIONS TAKEN BEFORE OBSERVATIONS:
A Utility Engineer was contacted several days prior to the testing event. Their name will
not be included in this document. They were tasked with the objective to design a
power conductor to harness the energy created by SCP-457 much like the engine
of a car. Additionally, several bits of trash and scrap were set aside (An old shoe,

a tire, residual plastic from food-stuffs, and Dr. Bright's chewed mechanical pencil)
and one corpse of a deceased D-Class personnel was withdrawn with the intention
for being used as fuel. The engine was set up during containment cleaning the day
prior to the experiment.

PREFACE (FROM █████  ███████ SWAIN(SYNARI)):
There have been several efficiency tests conducted with respect to SCP-457 even within
recent time. I found it beneficial to the foundation to compile such documents and delve
further into the application of SCP-457. If accommodations are made post-experiment
there is potential to retire the incinerator and utilize SCP-457 instead. The energy could
additionally be used financially, if not to further the site's self-sufficiency.

(READERS NOTE: HIGHLIGHTED TEXT IS DEEMED IMPORTANT TO THE DOCUMENT)

OBSERVATION A-1:
The engine was set up in SCP-457's containment and the fuel was placed within it's
proper compartment. SCP-457 was cornered and threatened by fire-extinguishers until
it was coaxed into a separate temporary containment where the engine was attached.
SCP-457
seems to comply and was very eager to begin being fed fuel. With the door
closed, SCP-457 quickly began burning the assorted objects placed within the engine.

The objects were observable from the glass window in the side of the engine. Usually
these sorts of objects have
moderately high melting points and require more energy to
burn than to utilize. SCP-457 burned through these undesirable bits of trash with ease.
Their melting point was assumed to be an average of 350°F taking modern day
incinerators anywhere from 2-5 minutes to reach and maintain. SCP-457 reduced
the 'fuel' in the container to smoke in
nothing more than 15 seconds.

The experiment was reset, and within the container a cadaver was placed.
A human cadaver burns anywhere from
1400°F to 1800°F to completion.
This is the same temperature used for cremation, and thus SCP-457 would need
to reach this internal temperature to burn the subject. It had no issue stripping the
corpse to bone within a record time of
only 2:31, and finally reducing the bones
to ashes
about 3 minutes later.

CADAVER AND MISC. OBJECT REMAINS:

Several fragments from either the cadaver or trash remains. This indicates
that
this method is not 100% efficient with it's incineration process.

REMAINS OF CADAVER POST ORGANIC MELTING:

For reference, this image was taken about 4 minutes into the cremation process.
As observable, the bones began to atrophy and melt.

OBSERVATION A-2:
Finally, the D-Class personnel was coaxed into SCP-457's containment and into the engine.
Surprisingly, the D-Class considered the test liberating, explaining that he would be more useful
in death than he ever was in life. Conceptually, a proper structure would need to be built, and
force would required to be used for personnel. Clearing the containment,
SCP-457 showed no
remorse
in using this human as fuel, as if they were the experiment prior.

Humans who are still alive have a harder time burning, considering 70% of their bodies are water.
It was expected for the personnel to take longer to burn, but be
more efficient with it's
burning process
. This controlled burn took about 8 minutes, yet yielded more energy
than the controlled burns previous. This is not ideal however this fact should be
noted.

THE FOLLOWING IMAGE WAS REDACTED:

As indicated above, the body burned and followed standard crematory steps.
Bodily fluids were evaporated over time, likely attributing to the direct
cause of the difficulty of the burn
.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

ANALYSIS AND CONCLUSION:
SCP-457 not only possess the ability to burn 'trash', but additionally can cremate a human
(dead or alive). The energy expunged can be harnessed and utilized, alive subjects burning
for longer and therefore releasing more energy. With this knowledge, SCP-457 can be
better utilized by burning problem personnel and the trash of the facility, in turn supplying
the site with a pseudo-renewable energy source or financial boost.

Another amazing test but I see one key factor in lore forgotten in this Document, that is that after a certain amount of fuel is given to SCP 457 it will split into 2 instances of SCP 457. Seeing as how you used 2 human corpses to test on SCP 457 who was intelligent at the time to know that fire extinguishers could hurt it is a possible duplication hazard. Other than that I see nothing wrong. Make sure to read lore closely as to not make possible breach instances.

Research Administrator W,

At first I thought I messed up and misread something- because I believe I've heard this before. It seems only when SCP-457 reaches an unknown size and fuel source it doubles itself. Given the fuel sources were of minute quantities, I figured I would not include this in the report, in addition to the fact that this doesn't directly pertain to hypothesis or experiment in question. It's a variable I don't believe would have any effect on harnessing SCP-457's ability to utilize miscellaneous objects as a fuel source and therefore energy.

Regardless, I appreciate the post, the thought, and the appreciation.
