Lore Rank/Name: AR Billy Gobsmacker SCP #: 513 Test Idea: The goal of the test is to conclude whether the mental state of the subject effects the amount of time needed to be affected and the effects put on the subject. Background Research: 513 Is a cowbell that when rung next to a subject they become 513-01, the subject then has audio and visual hallucinations, amnestic resources have shown to cure this condition before the subject is returned to containment and returns to normal. Hypothesis: The more mentally ill the subject is, the more the subject will be affected by SCP-513, it will also change the amount of time needed for the subject to have effects set in. Observations: Subject had a background of mental illnesses including; Regular panic attacks, mental insanity and schizophrenia. This greatly affected the amount of time needed for the subject to succumb to SCP-513 as a normal person took 23.6 seconds but the mentally ill subject only took 5.2 seconds. The effects varied with the normal side effects being intensified (seeing figures and hearing noises). More interesting is the fact that the subject seemed to see family members and close friends. The subject also experienced suicidal tendencies that intensified to murderous behavior. The subject seemed to not be effected by amnestic resources with the only way out being termination. An autopsy shows severe nerve damage in the brain similar to septic and electric shock. The brain tissue was also damaged from the SCP, the medical department are trying to find out the cause of the brain tissue being damaged. Evidence/Visual Stimuli (Images): Subject was very aggressive and tried to kill me and the guard, the feeling/aura around the subject went from that of a normal person to that of dread and uncertainty. Analysis/Conclusion (was your hypothesis correct, why or why not, how can this discovery benefit the foundation?): My hypothesis was correct, the mental state of the subject can determine the effects and intensity of effects, this can benefit the foundation by notifying researchers to proceed with caution when testing 513 on mentally ill subjects.

Name: Hanz Sourkraut Rank: Experienced Researcher Idea: This series of test on SCP-049-2 instances will be focused on whether or not SCP-049-2 can still feel one key element to retaining humanity, fear. This will be achieved through the use of SCP-513, otherwise known as "The Cowbell". This SCP was picked based off of its relative obscurity and the fear/anxiety SCP-513-1 induces in its victims. The following test will have slight alterations in order of SCP exposure and time between SCP-049-2 creation. Background Research: SCP-049 Is a Euclid class humanoid, typically dressed in a plague doctor uniform dating back to the 1600's, SCP-049 is sentient and has the ability to turn victims into a zombie like instance known as SCP-049-2, these instances listen to and follow the commands of SCP-049, but can become autonomous after to much time away from SCP-049. SCP-513 is a rusted cowbell with no engravings or markings. SCP-513 is non-animate and has no anomalous traits until it is rung. all humans who hear the bell will begin to see glimpses of a tall, black, humanoid entity stalking and watching them. This entity is known as SCP-513-1 and is so far impossible to remove, even with the strongest amnestics that the foundation has to offer. Hypothesis: It is under my personal belief that SCP-049-2 instances are completely devoid of their ability to ever return to normal and most likely have no capability of fear left in them, evidence of their history of attempting to slowly walk towards MTF units without any attempts at surviving these encounters. Despite this, something in my heart tells me that exposure to other anomalies, such as SCP-513-1, may lead us to new discoveries and information. OBSERVATIONS WILL BE SPLIT INTO 3 INDIVIDUAL TEST LOGS TO MAKE VIEWING AND COMPREHENDING THIS DOCUMENT EASIER, TEST WILL BE LABELED 049-2 TEST 1-4 049-2 Test 1: Class-D, known as D-3614, was escorted by 2 Gensec CPL+ and 1 MTF PVT to SCP-049's containment cell, SCP-049 was compliant and D-3614 was guided into the containment cell under guise of undergoing interview. After D-3614 entered SCP-049's containment cell, SCP-049 was asked to display his latest cure to onlooking foundation personnel, which it happily obliged to. After the operation, which took no longer than 3 minutes, D-3614 had been turned into an instance of SCP-049-2 and retrieved with no struggle. SCP-049-2 was promptly guided back to LCZ and into SCP-513's containment cell and placed inside. A 12-foot long pole was used to force SCP-049-2 to ring SCP-513 and within a few minutes was noted to begin twitching, flinching, and backing into the corner of the containment cell, after a few more minutes, SCP-049-2 dropped dead on the floor of the containment cell, its body was soon removed and incinerated. 049-2 Test 2: Class-D was escorted by 2 Gensec CPL+ and 1 MTF LCPL to SCP-049's containment cell, unfortunately the Class-D was previously a doctor himself and ended up in a lengthy discussion with SCP-049, further detail of this "interview" will be available in a possible future document courtesy of Dr Oak T Ree depending on if the interview gave significant enough new information on SCP-049. 049-2 Test 3: This test took place right after Test 2, and the previous MTF escort helped escort a new Class-D, known as D-4278, to SCP-513's containment cell where D-4278 asked to ring the bell. D-4278 complied, after which D-4278 began cursing and showing terror at the presence of SCP-513-1. D-4278 was quickly escorted to SCP-049's containment cell, where the interview was still taking place under the watch of Dr Oak T Ree and the 2 previous Gensec personnel. D-4278 was quickly "cured" and taken to the temporary Euclid containment cell for observation. SCP-049-2 instance was no longer reacting to SCP-513-1, SCP-049-2 dropped dead shortly after escort to the temporary Euclid containment cell. 049-2 Test 4: This test was graciously done by Dr Oak T Ree, who has been a massive help in my test on SCP-049-2 instances. A video recording was gifted to me by the Dr and I could not possibly be more happy for his assistance in these trials (It takes a long time to do this many test!). Conclusion: It appears that SCP-049-2 instances have higher brain function than previously thought, although we cannot be certain if it is due to a severance between the instance and SCP-049 itself. Either way, these test have proven without a doubt that some sort of humanity remains in these unfortunate souls. Was your hypothesis correct?: No, it was not, it has been scientifically proven that SCP-049-2 are still capable of human emotion to some capacity. Although any new information learned through science is typically something to celebrate, I'm not so certain that this certain test is something to be celebrated. It is my new personal belief that SCP-049-2 instances are an unfortunate victim to a mad doctor in a horrible case of malpractice, and I recommend a more ethical solution to disposing of future instances if possible. Addendum 049-2-1: Due to previous test all resulting in death, with and without influence of SCP-513, a followup test will be conducted on SCP-049-2 instances concerning this new discovery and if it correlates to distance from, time of "cure", or repeated injections of SCP-049's "curing" substance it has been observed using before creating an SCP-049-2 instance. It is my belief that far to much time testing on SCP-049 is spent strictly on SCP-049, and not SCP-049-2 instances. Within the following weeks i intend to make detailed and complex tests and experiments strictly relating to SCP-049-2, more specifically any possible remaining humanity, emotions, and ability to exist without SCP-049 presence or recent presence. Question: Are there any other side effects of viewing pictures and recordings of SCP-513-1 than the ones shown in my last test. Background Research: Previously I did a test trying to find out if viewing video or photos of SCP-513-1 is dangerous at all. Hypothesis: Based on the previous test I believe there are a lot more side effects then what we have seen previously when viewing pictures or recordings of SCP-513-1. Observation/Visual Stimuli(Photos/videos): I gave D-183829813 the video and photos after viewing them he became insane and tried to break out of cuffs we did not instantly terminate him because he was not able to break out of cuffs at all. After this I gave D-19803819831 the photos and video and he instantly died of a heart attack. Seeing that the previous 2 D-class had the exact same results as the previous D-class I figured that the final D-class was going to survive just fine but I had to make sure so I gave him the photos and video and sure enough he was perfectly fine. Analysis and Conclusion: These 3 results happened twice in a row I am not sure if this is just a coincidence or not but I believe these are the only effects that happen when viewing SCP-513-1 through video or photos. Form Title: [SCP-513 video and pictures study] ~ Research (11/10/19) Rank: Senior researcher Clearance Level: 2 List of Personnel involved in testing: Security OFC Cole Level D personnel involved: D-10390932931, D-1029329392, and D-10389238 SCP: SCP-513 Errors and/or safety hazards: One of the D-class became insane during testing and attempted to run away, and another terminated themselves. Question: Is it safe to view pictures and recordings of SCP-513-1 from my previous test logs? Background Research: Previously I did a test to see if SCP-513-1 can be caught on camera by anyone ringing the bell which we were able to do with help from Dr. Bright. Hypothesis: I believe that the pictures and video of SCP-513-1 will cause some mental damage to anyone viewing it. Observation/Visual Stimuli(Photos/videos): I asked the D-class which one wanted to go first and D-10390932931 volunteered, I gave him the photo's and he looked at them then instantly went insane and tried to escape subject was immediately terminated by the security escort. After that I picked one of the other 2 at random since neither wanted to go after seeing what happened to D-10390932931, subject D-10389238 was picked as the next subject, after giving the picture to him he looked at them and immediately attempted to terminate himself which he succeeded in doing. Subject D-1029329392 was then shown the pictures and he seemed completely fine unlike the other 2 D-class he was taken to med bay to be amnesticized and was returned to D-block safely. Analysis and Conclusion: Viewing pictures or a recording of SCP-513-1 can have dangerous side effects but other times there won't be any side effects. Question: How often does 513's effect manifest in human beings. Background Research: As is on file, SCP-513 victims will see SCP-513-1 appear in the corners of their eyes, often in a creepy manner. It states that this happens with intervals of 14-240 minutes, however this is not accurate with the findings on site-05, why this is is not known, but atleast we can figure out how often it does happen on Site-05. Hypothesis: Due to past experiences with SCP-513 victims, most likely they will see one every 5-6 seconds. Observation/Visual Stimuli(Photos/videos): N/A. Analysis and Conclusion: During testing the D-Class who was instructed to ring the bell was given a stopwatch to keep track of whenever he saw a 513-1 instance, D-class was then locked in the CC and instructed to ring the bell and keep track of 513-1 instances, after 5 minutes, GenSec entered the CC to terminate D-Class, however it appears that D-Class had already self-terminated at this time trough using its jumpsuit as a noose. According to Stopwatch last listed times this happened around the 2 minute mark. The average time between spottings being 4.62 seconds. This is vastly different from what the file on SCP-513 lists, and appears to show that SCP-513 acts differently on Site-05 then it does on other sites, I am however curious wether other SCP's also show the same difference on behavior here in relation to other geographical locations, but further testing will be needed to draw such a conclusion. Do your results align with your hypothesis?: Not entirely, the time difference between the sightings varies drasticaly, sometimes taking as little as 1 second to manifest, other times taking upwards of 10. Question: Will 999 be able to negate the effect of 513. Background Research: 999 is known to calm people and cure mental ilness, 513 is known to cause mental ilness. Hypothesis: 999 will be able to fully remove any effects that SCP-513 has. Observation/Visual Stimuli(Photos/videos): N/A. Analysis and Conclusion: D-Class entered 513 CC with instructions of ringing it, then comming out and hugging 999. D-Class did this without failure, while D-Class was in contact with SCP-999 the effects of 513 were not present, with the subject suffering from neither anxiety nor hallucinations, after 999 was removed from the subject, Hallucinations swiftly returned to the D-Class, but anxiety remained absent. Do your results align with your hypothesis?: No, i expect full negation of the effects even after removal of 999, sadly that did not happen, but if we do find a way to produce 999's slime along with its anomalous properties, we might be close to a way of negating the effects permenantly. Question: From my previous test which I had Dr. Bright record and take pictures for I learned that SCP-513-1 can be recorded and photographed by anyone affected by SCP-513, my question is can someone who is not affected by SCP-513 record and take pictures of SCP-513-1 when someone else is affected. Background Research: In my previous test I had Dr. Bright ring SCP-513 and record it and take pictures and we learned 513-1 can be photographed and recorded by anyone affected by SCP-513 Hypothesis: SCP-513 will not show up in the video or pictures unless the person who rang SCP-513 is taking the pictures/recording.
