  1. [ PRINTING FILE NOW... ] (Decided to remake this for the new site.)
  2. I'll keep this short as Hell, I am officially leaving my command position in Research. I have enjoyed my time as a member of the command team and I have taken a lot of time to consider this decision before posting. When I originally accepted the position I was already reluctant and it's been no secret I joined because Research CMD needed members. I don't really feel that's the case anymore and I have a job that keeps me too busy to designate the time needed for this position. I hope what little flavor and changes I brought were liked even if I'm a bit of an ass. I would like to thank a few people that made my time here notable: Boba - Legitimately cringe, ban this loser, made him the new head of the AIAD, he's way more active and dedicated than me. Cryptonus - The guy who originally recommended me to apply for RFA and command, I will never forgive you. Tyler - I bully you a lot but you're a great Research CMD and HCMD member, you do this branch proud and I know you are always trying your absolute hardest to keep Research alive. Keep doing what you're doing man, see ya around the server. Avalon Levi (Avi) - Had way more patience with me than you ever should have bruv, appreciate you. Levii - Smelly loser boy, see ya in the UIU. Giga - You single-handedly kept my hope for RAU alive and I would like to take this moment to recommend you as my replacement as CO in the RAU. I know you'd make me proud. Pablo - U r a big nerd See ya later space cowboys.
  3. PENDING RE-GRADING. OOC GRADE Grammar - 25/25 - Quality - 15/15 - Formatting - 10/10 - Test Idea - 25/25 - Length - 25/25 - Lore Accuracy - 0/1 - FINAL SCORE: XXX/100 PLEASE DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED BY ANY "LOW" FINAL SCORES I PROVIDE! I am likely the one among Research CMD who grades the harshest outside of RFA Grading!
  4. Welcome to SCiPNet... OOC NOTE: This is probably the most ambitious thing that I've actually undertaken. I hope you guys like the format!

I was originally a member of the Analyst Squad prior to the purge of A-1 to make way for this exciting new development for them. While I loved running several tests and helping out with Echo-5/Mech Raids whenever there were enough combatants on both sides to run one, I did always have the feeling we were capable of doing more. My hope is that as an officer of A-1, I will have the ability to make that change come true. I want to see A-1 become a branch worthy of the ‘elite’ status they’re often seen as and I want to expand what we do on the server beyond flagging up almost only when major combat scenarios are going on. I want to see Guardians doing routine patrols of the surface while cloaked, Logistics actively coming up with better ways to contain the SCPs and keep the site functioning, and Analysts really pushing what is both ethical and possible for the Foundation to do with its resources and the anomalies. I realize these probably don’t sound all that ambitious, but I believe that they’re just the first steps towards getting A-1 to engage not just in RP, but passive RP so that no one grows bored or believes their only purpose is to flag on a shoot things/gas the site. I also want to see A-1 interact with other branches and MTF squads as well, as I often felt (and was guilty of on occasion) that we came in and shut others out. While that is fairly accurate from a lore perspective and how A-1 is usually used, I do also think it helped hinder RP and could annoy people, painting a target on A-1’s back for trolling/minging/dislike. I hope that as an officer I can set a decent example and encourage A-1 to work alongside the other Foundation forces and not be seen as ‘Funny men that will gas you if you talk to them.’ 6. What makes you competent enough to be an Officer?: I find this to be a difficult question to answer and originally I just threw my previous experience out there without much other explanation, and I felt I should elaborate. Clouded, this boy’s future is… Where I would say I really began first gaining the experience that I believe qualifies me for this position was when I took over as the leader of the Jedi Council on a Clone Wars RP server I had been playing on for roughly a year and half by that point. The server, Flaxen Gaming at the time, was a small but dedicated community of roleplayers that wanted to see the server grow into a bigger community. (Spoilers; Ultimately, we were all kids in high school and growing up led to the eventual shut down of the server and community splitting off) At our peak we would have ~40-50 players on a good night, 30 on an average night, with six of them typically being other Jedis flagged on. While I was involved as a 501st Trooper, largely due to my role as Anakin Skywalker meaning I was already close friends with the Rex and Echo leading it, I almost exclusively played on Jedi and tried to get roleplay going for us. When our then Mace Windu retired, I was offered to become his replacement. Due to us not strictly adhering to lore and never planning on moving past the Clone Wars era, Anakin was named Master of The Order and I applied for our Gamemaster Team (Event Team). I killed them, the men, the women, the children… After becoming an Event Team and Master of the Order, I noticed two major things that needed addressing; 1) Jedi were rarely given anything to do during events or missions. We often just had to sit in the back or be a damage sponge for the troopers while they pushed. This led to most Jedi getting bored and flagging onto troopers when events happened. This didn’t sit well with me as the Jedi ranks were a donator perk, I thought our players should get more bang for their buck so to speak. 2) We were largely running the same missions over and over and over again. Siege a planet, win or lose depending on how the GM was feeling that day, or infection events that usually led to the ship crashing. (It got to the point where the owner got pissed and banned any events that crashed the ship without his approval.) I was in a bit of a pickle due to being one of the newer members of the GMs and High Command for the server, I still had to prove myself. So I got to work. I began assisting with others’ events and added on missions both for Jedi and the Special Operations Brigade (Essentially what RFA/RRH/etc. is in SCP-RP, all the classified stuff and first contact is usually done via SOB.) This could include attempting to negotiate for peace if the planet was contested, capturing a high value military target, disarming bombs, taking out reinforcements before they arrived, just something to make it feel like those positions weren’t only cosmetic. They were animals, so I slaughtered them like animals! My work eventually paid off when Flax, the owner, promoted me to the Head GM. For three months I had events run at least once a day, usually twice with one of my GMs running a story event and then myself doing a one-off event. If I did not run an event on one of those days it was typically because I was engaging in passive RP to set-up a future event I would run. I ran three successful storylines in that time, doing my best to keep them starting and ending within the month. They were; With Friends Like These… - The Republic sought out a treaty of non-aggression with the Hutt Cartel after several of their transport and cargo ships were attacked by pirates. The Hutts reveal that these are actually unsanctioned Spice Pirates encroaching on their space and if the Republic took them out then the Hutts would allow them to use their hyperspace channels. The catch? They made the same offer to the Separatists. It became a race to take out the pirates and each other with the Republic suffering heavy losses yet ultimately taking a victory. Our General (the owner) ultimately sacrificed himself to ram the Spice Pirates ship into the Seps while the rest of us evacuated. (It became an ongoing joke that Flax’s characters would die at the end of storylines and a new, meaner General would replace him.) I Got A Bad Feeling About This… - The SOB uncovered intel about an outpost on a remote moon ‘conducting vital research to seal the fate of the Republic dogs.’ Upon investigating, the Republic comes face to face with… Zombies?! (I know, I know, very original.) Though the Republic manages to escape the moon, one of them has been infected… When they arrived back on the ship, the troopers were ordered to report to the medical bay where all Hell broke loose. The infected trooper (myself as ET) turned and began infecting others. Captain Rex and the 501st kept the infected at bay while the rest of the ship devised a plan, ultimately luring us to the hangar bay where most of the infected were jettisoned to space. The 212th swept the ship and wiped out the remaining infected, burning their bodies. (Originally a one-off done by one of the GMs, I decided to expand it into a longer event without trying to make the ship crash or be considered lost.) What Dreams May Come - Master Yoda has a vision of the future, one where the Order has fallen and a dark, wheezing figure begins to exert its dark will on the galaxy. Hoping to prevent this future, Master Yoda goes alone to the planet Dathomir, something in the Force telling him it is where he must go. Yoda, however, was deceived and taken captive by the Sisters of Dathomir! Master Yoda reaches out through the Force and Anakin hears him, bringing the might of the Republic with him on a rescue mission. A successful rescue mission was mounted and Master Yoda was taken to the evac point. Unfortunately, the Sister would not let their prey escape so easily. Hordes of their undead thralls (think voodoo zombies, not Hollywood) were sent to attack the troopers and they had to hold out until evacuation came. The SOB were also secretly given a mission to collect samples from the planet’s inhabitants, so they captured a zombie. The troopers managed to escape with minimal casualties, but little did they know that it would only be the beginning… (Not really though, as this would be the last storyline I ‘finished’ before the server shifted directions.) I don’t like sand. Now those are all well and good if I was applying for an ET position, but I’m sure you’re asking yourself; Why did he bring all that up? Well, I’m hoping it can help show that I am more than capable of including multiple branches/groups in activities and roleplay I do on the server, even if they aren’t one I’m directly involved in. You also may be asking yourself, how did I run the Jedi Order? Isn’t that what’s really important here? Well it certainly will be important, so let's get into it shall we? When I first became Master of The Order (MTO), I instituted weekly PTs. This would be whatever I felt was necessary that week from combat PTs to get newer members trained to meditation and study roleplay sessions to get people more invested in their characters beyond ‘when do I get to flag on and stab things?’ I also held optional lore lessons once a month in our Discord where I would sit down with whoever wanted to attend and explain (as I understood it at 16/17) the lore of Star Wars. While I only managed to hold three, I covered Lightsaber Stances, the Fundamentals of The Force (explaining that the Jedi and Sith have flawed views of the Force that pigeonhole it into one or the other), and Lightsaber Crystals/their meanings. (Pre and post retcons). I always got the sense that these were enjoyable for others and gave them a chance to put more thought into their character beyond what name they wanted and what loadout dealt the most damage. No. I refuse. This is all there is. Unfortunately, Flax decided he wanted to run a HaloRP server and the community was switched over to a HaloRP focused one. Due to me having absolutely no experience with Halo or interest in it at the time (Playstation and PC baby, les go), I decided to resign from my post so someone better suited to running Halo-themed events/storylines could take my place. From there I spent a few years drifting from server to server as life also got busier with school ending and me needing to learn how to properly adult. I’ve also, since then, become absolutely enthralled by the SCP Universe as I stumbled across it one day while, funnily enough, scrolling through my recommended feed on a Star Wars lore video. When I found Gaminglight, I knew I had quite possibly found a new place to try and continue having fun with RP again and I can say I haven’t been disappointed. My time as a Researcher has been great and I love the community Gaminglight has. You can go from yelling at each other one moment to having a casual, calm, insightful conversation the next and it's all facilitated by a silly monster server on an even sillier sandbox game. 7. How will you maintain strong relationships and communication with other branches?: This was another section I was really unhappy with after rereading it so I want to take another crack at it and really break down how I plan to maintain strong relationships and communication with other branches. Mobile Task Forces Delta-5 - Interrogation Cross PTs. I believe that D-5 and A-1 would benefit from cross PTs where they must interrogate one another. I believe this will encourage D-5 and A-1 to work together in capturing and interrogating PoIs/GoI raiders rather than one being upset the other has the priority. A-1 could also learn from D-5’s torturing tactics, they’ve got ACEE after all, and that… thing, it scares me. Nu-7 - Joint Site Patrols. I think Guardians utilizing Shadow Protocol and accompanying the Nu-7 on site-wide patrols could help build the relationship between A-1 and Nu-7 as branches. Working together to recontain SCPs and stop CI/fleeing D-Class is always a fun activity and usually leads to more than a few laughs along the way. I think these patrols would also just let people naturally interact with one another to better pave the way to work together in the future. I also think that Nu-7 should be invited to help guard Analysts during tests they run alongside the Guardians. This would encourage people to get to know one another and Nu-7 could be the ones to retrieve any necessary D-Class, minimizing a chance of A-1’s having to utilize amnestics or interact with non-essential personnel. I also believe PTs where an ET or Staff plays the roles of an SCP while A-1 and Nu-7 have to battle it will help keep skills sharp for recontainment, avoiding cases where the SCPs are breached for upwards of an hour. Epsilon-11 - Joint Raids, one of my personal favorite activities as an Analyst was doing the Echo-5 and Mech Raids with E-11 and D-5. I haven’t seen many of those raids recently and I hope we can do more of them again, especially with the higher activity at night/on the weekends. I also believe Cross-PTs designed to have E-11 and A-1 work together on moving through a surface-like environment would be beneficial to honing our tactics for raiding. I could definitely see it being done once every few weeks to keep E-11 and A-1 familiar with one another as well as keep people refreshed on how to best operate. War games could also be played at these PTs where A-1 and E-11 are sent against one another in order for both teams to learn from each other’s strategies. Gamma-9 - Cross PTs against CI/Joint PTs. Due to the role the G-9 play, I think the best way for relationships to be built between them and A-1 would be through cross PTs against the CI or one another. This would allow them to learn how the other operates and perhaps gleam tactics they will want to employ in the future to handle a situation, be it a CI Raid or mass D-Class riot. I also believe the same PTs run with Nu-7 involving SCPs would be useful, though with the slight variation that Keter class SCPs be used as they will be the ones G-9 and A-1 are likely called to deal with in any such case. Nexus-3 - Joint PTs. I believe that joint PTs where the N-3 and A-1 must work together would be the most beneficial to maintaining a strong relationship between the two branches. The Inquisitors and Guardians both utilize stealth and interrogation skills to take down high value targets, so I believe they could work closely with one another, especially against any hostile Persons of Interest captured by the Foundation during raids or operations. I also believe PTs where A-1 and N-3 must interrogate one another would be beneficial, both to have N-3 and A-1 trained to resist torture in-character as well as trading tactics for interrogation. I also think the high emphasis N-3 have on defense and long-range would be something A-1 benefits from learning about, adapting their tactics as needed to a situation. GenSec Security - More open communication with GenSec when we enter areas like the Light Containment Zone or D-Block where they have jurisdiction. While I mentioned the idea of Nu-7 being able to retrieve D-Class when necessary for A-1 operations, I also understand that they will often be busy with their own thing/may not want to escort at that exact moment. I think GenSec would be helpful here and maintaining a good relationship to have a D-Class extracted and brought when necessary would be wonderful, as well as A-1 helping out GenSec when it is absolutely necessary. (Low Player Count, Mass D-Class Riot, CI D-Class Raid, etc.) Wardens - War Games PTs. While I don’t foresee many operations putting A-1 and Wardens with one another, I also want A-1 to be adaptable enough to go anywhere the Council deems necessary and have good enough relations with the other branches/sub-branches that we can slip in with them easily. I think War Games PTs (Capture The Flag, Team Deathmatch, Free-For-All, Red-Light-Green-Light, One-v-One Tournaments, Two-v-Two Tournaments, etc.) would be a great way to do this with the Wardens as well as every other combatant within the Foundation. Research Researchers - I believe Analysts including Researchers in the work they do would be a great way to maintain a good relationship with Research as a whole. It would give many interested in the RP aspect an idea of what tests on the Keter-class SCPs can be, teach people about Utilizations to perhaps encourage them to be a combatant in their second life, and more. I want Analysts to make use of D-Class, give Researchers assignments (help with test ideas), and in general make the other branches want to apply for A-1 after experiencing the kind of tests they can conduct. Research Field Agency - I think Guardians should offer to protect Field Agents on the surface using Shadow Protocol. Speaking from experience, we can be quite squishy and quickly get captured if a CI spots us. I think Guardians offering their protection when RFA head to the surface would maintain a strong kinship with RFA and a sense of security to be able to conduct field operations for the RFA knowing they won’t get dommed or captured off the bat. Divisions - When Divisions are working on their projects, as they are usually assigned directly by the O5 Council in-character, I think A-1 Analysts and Logistics offering their expertise in assisting with completing the projects would benefit the Divisions greatly and make Researchers see A-1 in an extremely positive light. With their clearance and knowledge, A-1’s could help the Divisions complete their projects quicker and with more interesting results. I believe projects and A-1 go hand-in-hand as well, given they’re usually locked behind LVL 4+ Clearance or membership of the Division assigned the project. Research Automaton Units - Test Escort Assistance. A-1 offering to help escort tests when there is a low count of RAU online would be of great help to them, as Researchers often flag onto RAU in order to help other Researchers have an escort for their test. I know at least one or two people get frustrated with how difficult it can be to get an escort, so I think this would help immensely in maintaining a strong relationship between the two branches. Chaos Insurgency Military - Cross PTs/E-5/Mech Raids. RND - Analyst+RND Cross MTs. This is often the way that Researchers get introduced to RND and vice versa, so I believe it will be the best way to keep RND and A-1 from interacting exclusively during raids. I also think it would give RND more opportunities to have access to the Keter-class SCPs and less utilized SCPs as well. EOI - Operations. I think A-1 conducting operations against the EOI would make them an in-character thorn in their sides as well as give the two more reasons to interact with one another. With how much of a pain the EOI can be through infiltration and raiding I do think it would make sense for the O5 to assign A-1 to sabotage/capture/terminate them where they can as a bit of payback. Foundation Administration O5 - Interactions. I often only see Guardians around the O5s when they are flagged on and I’d like to see all of A-1 begin to interact with them a bit more. I don’t really have much to say here outside of wanting there to be more communication between A-1 and the O5s, both so A-1s feel involved and so the O5s don’t get swarmed and spammed as much when they flag on. Ethics Committee - Escorting. I would really like to see both Logistics and Guardians escorting the Ethics Committee when they flag up, especially with the plans for them to be more involved in roleplay. With a lack of Law’s Left Hand on the server, I really think A-1 could fill that place as their hand on the server as well as the O5 Councils. I also think it will make it more fun when we do any betrayal events or A-1 vs the Site events. I am leaving my old application here for posterity's sake:
