  1. What are you suggesting? I'm suggesting that a select group of people from the entirety of the server (Not just SMT / HCMD) are selected to be private "beta testers" for upcoming updates to the server. This would include things such as map changes, feature implementations (such as the breach system), and a variety of other things. The issue a lot of people seem to have on Gaminglight SCP-RP as of current is the fact that updates come out unpolished, and in many cases unfinished. The new map is an excellent example of this, not only was there no mega-event for the map change (which is shocking, considering one was actively in the works), but it was implemented on a Monday. I feel like releasing it at the end of the week after a period of polish and review would have absolutely saved this map from some significant criticism. I understand that it was purchased from Atlas Uprising, but map edits are possible. We're seeing several major SCPs (Such as 610) without a specialized containment chamber when they should obviously have one. The new map has various easy-to-spot & easy-to-fix errors, such as signs being mislabeled or railings randomly cutting off. Another example is the breach alert system, which on release had a generic stock alarm sound effect. We're seeing the same issue in Gaminglight as with the rest of the gaming industry, instead of releasing a completed product, we're releasing a half-baked mess and then day-1 / day-2 patching it, and it leads to a lot of the complaints. I hate to compare to Civilnetworks, but whenever Civilnetworks releases an update, I have never seen major bugs and it's obvious that extensive testing is done. Civilnetworks ERT didn't release with broken spawns, guns that don't work, and completely unusable features due to bugs. Yet you see these exact issues on Gaminglight (New map had broken SCP & class spawns, original A-1 guns were completely unusable) They release complete packages, not half-polished messes. By selecting a group of beta-testers from the Gaminglight community to view, ask questions, and make suggestions for changes to upcoming updates, then you allow for the major constructive criticisms to be addressed before they're released. How would this change better the server? Community Feedback is one of the most crucial parts of developing anything, and obviously SMT understands that because they (and Zeeptin) come to us about upcoming / proposed updates and changes, especially with the new channel in the command discord. If you have a team of even as little as 5 community-picked beta testers, then these people could easily bring up their own concerns for the map and address issues like this before they're released for the entire server to complain about. Are there any disadvantages of making this change to the server? If so, explain. The potential leaking of information, but with literally anything there's always a chance of getting leaked / a trust factor involved. Just don't pick people who are gonna leak things. Who would this change mostly benefit? Everyone Please link any workshop content, screenshots, or anything that you think may be helpful to those who view this suggestion N/A
  2. What are you suggesting? The addition of a body cam system that would be attached to all Foundation Personnel. How would this change better the server? 1. Research This would be absolutely amazing for Research, and creates actual potential for expeditions into the Pocket Dimension and SCP-860. Imagine attaching body cams to Class-D personnel and then sending them in and being able to actively watch what they were discovering. This would be a major driver for Research. 2. Internal Affairs Being able to actively catch Code of Ethics violations in real time and present it in Tribunals as evidence would be a huge driver of Internal Affairs RP. It gives a new responsibility to Internal Affairs that would boost its activity. 3. Branch Command This would allow for Branch Command to actively view what their enlisted are doing, and this could be major for addressing issues in the branch, whether it be tactics or just catching people who are minging. Being able to watch somebody in real time without being right next to them could be great for handling internal branch issues. 4. Captured Personnel Ever had an issue with locating the guy who just tapped his comms? Well now, you have access to a body camera that can show you exactly where they are. This adds a new responsibility to C.I., stripping / disabling a persons Body Camera, and makes it so that if they forget, then MTF can easily swarm their position without worrying about "Where were they last?" Are there any disadvantages of making this change to the server? If so, explain. This would very likely have to be built from scratch, which could cost crucial development time for other aspects of the server. Who would this change mostly benefit? Foundation Personnel Please link any workshop content, screenshots, or anything that you think may be helpful to those who view this suggestion Please be aware that I am writing this suggestion at 1 AM and that I probably worded some things poorly or said things I didn't intend to, but I think you get the point.
  3. yo wtf?!?!?!?!?!?!? bye bye praefact.
  4. Whenever you Copy and Paste text from forums posts, none of the formatting (Text size, color, etc) gets copied with it. Instead, it should be made so that whenever you copy and paste text, it copies all of the formatting used in the text. This would just be a minor Q.O.L. change.
  5. What are you suggesting? Upon exiting a disguise, your name is automatically set to your pre-disguise name, I.E. if I was on Alpha-1, and my name was "MTF A-1 CPT Odysseus", and then I disguised as a Maintenance and changed my name to "MP NCS Yatogami", upon exitting that disguise (whether through death or just directly exitting), my name would automatically reset to "MTF A-1 CPT Odysseus" How would this change better the server? Would make exiting a disguise more convenient. Are there any disadvantages of making this change to the server? If so, explain. I genuinely cannot think of any. Who would this change mostly benefit? E.O.I, A-1, just anybody that disguises. Please link any workshop content, screenshots, or anything that you think may be helpful to those who view this suggestion N/A
  6. What are you suggesting? Remove the following comms from Medical, Maintenance and Research High Command: /nu7 /d5 /e11 How would this change better the server? Currently, it is a hassle to coordinate any AOS against HCMD (particularly non-combatants) due to the fact that they have access not only to MTF comms (Which isn't an issue), but they also have access to each individual MTF's comms. This simply doesn't make sense. There is no reason for Utility or Research High Command to be aware of the contents of these comms, and if they do then they should just ask or communicate in regular MTF comms. Regardless of the fact that they are Level 4 personnel, they just shouldn't have these comms. Are there any disadvantages of making this change to the server? If so, explain. They probably wouldn't be happy for about a week. Who would this change mostly benefit? MTF Please link any workshop content, screenshots, or anything that you think may be helpful to those who view this suggestion N/A
  7. -Support This is a solution, I just don't think it's the right one. Crouch-jump spam only comes into play due to the fact that tactics have no use. There's no reason to really "breach" a room or utilize formations and firing lines because there's no benefit to doing so. In-fact it's probably counter-intuitive. While I certainly believe crouch-spam is an issue, I believe the solution lies in a server-wide re-balance of HP/AP and some major gun reworks which would make tactics actually viable. Imagine if MTF, GENSEC, and CI enlisted all had 100 HP (and perhaps differing armor values between GENSEC and MTF/CI). Now the issue isn't "Oh well he literally has the same health as our NCO's so what am I supposed to do?" and now it's "Oh, he outplayed me." Of course, that isn't a perfect example, but skill & tactics should be the key to winning fights, not the fact that you have 225/200 HP/AP and a G3A3 on 2 Round Burst.
  8. -Support Every time we get a new map, people run and cry “GUYS THIS MAP IS ASS!!! OLD SITE OLD SITE!!!” and frankly it’s getting annoying. Spend more than 2 days on a map before you run around and complain. ”Guys, New D-Block is so unbalanced!”, make a suggestion, they can edit the map. Site-13 D-Block was literally KILLING SECURITY as a branch because rioting was constant, Researchers could never get D-Class because they’d get sniped by a cc in the back corner. We are a roleplay server, not a TDM server, and if you think otherwise then I believe Gaminglight isn’t the place for you. If you dont want to make a suggestion, deal with it or leave the server. I’m not saying the map is perfect, there’s certainly flaws, but make suggestions to fix them or deal with it.

  10. +Support Transfer to Nu-7, just a branch update away! (jk) (unless...?)
  11. MASSIVE +SUPPORT I rarely comment on staff applications of any variety, but Lovelock is by far one of the most professional staff members on the server. Lovelock does things by the book, and is not afraid to get onto people. To put it bluntly, this guy doesn't let things slide, and that's probably for the better. I know a lot of people who have concerns about Lovelock, particularly because of his temper (which I will agree, Lovelock is a little hot headed at times), but he is professional when it is necessary and is by far one of the most dedicated, mature, and professional users on this server. Lovelock is also incredibly communicative, and asks questions when he has them, which is only another excellent demonstration of his dedication. Lovelock in my opinion is quite honestly the closest person to what I imagine an Admin should be.
  12. What are you suggesting? Replace 106's SWEP with this: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1783768332 How would this change better the server? 1. More immersive for both 106 and other players 2. Allows 106 to automatically pass through doors without needing to teleport 3. 106 can also go to his dimension as an easy way to secure kills Are there any disadvantages of making this change to the server? If so, explain. Give's 106 the ability to fly (This is intended to be used for getting out of his dimension and back on-site, however I think with some coding and also the work of staff this minor inconvenience will be far outweighed by the pros Who would this change mostly benefit? 106 Players Please link any workshop content, screenshots, or anything that you think may be helpful to those who view this suggestion N/A
  13. What are you suggesting? (Inspired by the SCP-173 SWEP and SCP-682 SWEP replacements) Replacing 096's SWEP with this: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2641523360&searchtext=SCP-096 How would this change better the server? 1. More immersive for 096 players 2. Compatible with the keycard system (developed by the same guy who made our Keycards) 3. Configurable for easy changes Are there any disadvantages of making this change to the server? If so, explain. The add-on description does mention that 096 may occasionally get enraged even if you didn't look at him, but this could also be a positive due to being more secure. Who would this change mostly benefit? 096 Players Please link any workshop content, screenshots, or anything that you think may be helpful to those who view this suggestion N/A
  14. +/-Support I do agree that levels are excessively grindy (It took me over 2,000 hours of playtime on the server to reach level 100 without buying any levels), which accounts to over 83 days of playtime to reach level 100. This was with AFKing and during double XP. However, I think a better idea is to allow players to buy XP boosts for the entire server, similar to civilnetwork's "XP/Money Roulette" system where admins can basically give everybody a random amount of xp / money for inconveniences (such as server crashes). This incentivizes playing on the server because you have to be on the server to get these, and they can happen at any moment, and also can incentivize people getting back on after server crashes.
  15. What are you suggesting? Upon spawning in as an SCP, a pop-up appears explaining what the SCP is, and more importantly, the rules of the SCP (Think of it kind of like a mini MOTD). This pop-up would also have an option to permanently hide it for the future (so that it doesn't pop up literally every time you play an SCP) How would this change better the server? Should significantly decrease the number of accidental rule-breaks because people don't understand how to play the SCP. Currently, you can sort of excuse it as "There's so many rules in the MoTD it's just overwhelming.", but with this new suggested system there would be pretty much no excuse. One primary example of this is 049 and FearRP. Some people may not understand FearRP and something like this would significantly help with that. Are there any disadvantages of making this change to the server? If so, explain. N/A Who would this change mostly benefit? New SCP Players Please link any workshop content, screenshots, or anything that you think may be helpful to those who view this suggestion N/A
  16. What are you suggesting? All SCP SWEPs get HUD elements added to them which basically tell you the controls for that SCP. I.E. if you were to equip 049's SWEP, it displays text just below the center of your screen which would say something like "LMB to Infect | RMB to Cure", or for 079 "LMB to Hack Doors | R to Navigate Cameras". How would this change better the server? New SCP players would understand how to actually play the SCP. Are there any disadvantages of making this change to the server? If so, explain. N/A Who would this change mostly benefit? New SCP Players Please link any workshop content, screenshots, or anything that you think may be helpful to those who view this suggestion N/A
  17. What are you suggesting? Replace the Armory NPC in LCZ Armory & EZ Armory (NOT E-11 BASE) with some sort of gun locker prop (Functions literally identically to the Armory NPC, but different model) How would this change better the server? Minor quality of life change. Why would there just be a random guy handing out weapons, especially to d-class? The reason I say it shouldn't be in E-11 base is because of the current location of the armory npc in e-11 base (Where having a person there just makes sense and also it would look weird to have a gun locker floating off the wall) Are there any disadvantages of making this change to the server? If so, explain. N/A Who would this change mostly benefit? Anyone Please link any workshop content, screenshots, or anything that you think may be helpful to those who view this suggestion N/A
  18. Heya, I’m sorry for making this on such short notice, however, I’ve reached the life limit and thus, I had to choose. Research will remain in my heart and I enjoyed my time here greatly, I’ll probably come back one day. Mentions: Tyler - Thank you for putting so much faith in me, I couldnt have done it without you Zitterman - One of the best researchers I know (fu k you and your opinions on my rework!!!!!), makes the most fire test logs. Keep up the good work Gigazet - One of the best guys I’ve met on the server, very humble. Glad to have met you. GrizZ - Inactive, but thanks for the opportunity in M.A.D., not my best work but I certainly tried, I’ll send you my unfinished rework proposal Dave - He’s alright ig. Ghost - Thanks for accepting me as Professor, make that RRA update real. It’s fire trust. Avalon - Accepted me into Research CMD, and wouldn’t be here without you. Thanks mate. If I didnt mention you, no hard feelings. I love you all, but my adventures shall continue elsewhere
  19. Update (no formatting since im on mobile) -> Promoted to Chief Advisor in IAA
  20. MASSIVE +SUPPORT If there is anything I could ask for on this server, I want this.
  21. Update Promoted to Research Administrator
  22. Personally, yes. SCPs like 939 are incredibly mobile and resultantly its very difficult to look at them for an extended period of time. This would make it easier for MTF to call out
  23. Uhhh. Just an FYI, this guy got accepted already. He's already research command.
