  1. "Despair not for what you have lost, celebrate what its existence meant." - Hex

I know I've been gone for practically the whole month so you all probably wondered exactly what happened. Well it's a whole month of stuff: Depression, poor sleep, insane amounts of Overtime, lack of motivation, Familial Events, and generally trying to piece my life together after sacrificing the better part of a year's worth of free time to GL. I Remember recently reconnecting with some very old friends IRL recently. I hadn't spent time with any friends outside of the internet for nearly 2 years due to my crippling social anxiety. After hanging out with them, and nearly getting a girlfriend out of it immediately, I felt two things:

    1) I need to put my actual life first, Some of these things I've desired have been so close within my reach but I wasn't putting any time or effort towards reach them.
    2) Despite that, I don't regret spending all that time here. I felt that confidence I'd built here coming into play when talking to people. I felt more socially able, More confident in holding a conversation and starting one myself.

With that in mind, and the fact that it would be kinda hypocritical to the standards I hold for the positions under mine to try and keep an AHC spot after practically being away the entire month, I think that now, at the one-year mark of my first day here is the time to hang up the Rank I spent so long achieving. There's so much more to say but I think I ought to just get to my special mentions and FAQ section. I've 5 hours (now 2.5) until work at the time of writing this and I haven't slept. (C'mon Bon, you could've let me have one more day! :p)

    SPECIAL MENTIONS AND THANKS
(Wow I wrote a bunch of these >.<)

Some of the following may be retired and never see this post. If I have failed to mention your name DM me on Discord and if I have something to say, I'll write you a heartfelt message ❤️

First off and foremost, the man I worked alongside to bring about what should go down in GL history as the Medical Restoration of February 2022. We worked together to save Medical from the same fate as Havoc. I could not have done that without you. You also played a big part in my motivation to reach HCOM, I'm glad I could keep my promise to you in that regard. Oh, and not to mention you practically half-wrote my Officer App with how much you tutored me on it. Still don't know if that's against any rules, but I guess an exception can be made for how this all turned out 🙂

    Bon
I remember a specific incident after an SMT Off-Map event back in December 2021 where you singled me out as an excellent leader and promoted me to COL in front of the whole server, saying the words "I look forward to seeing you as a Command Team Member". It's hard to quantify what this did for my personal confidence in myself, but safe to say it gave me an unshakable determination to reach the top of Medical. I'm glad I could fulfill those expectations and more for you sir 07

    Mann
Wait a minute... WH0 are you?
The Gentlemann of DT, and one of the many people who made me love that regiment as much as I did. You've done a helluva job filling the massive shoes Odin left behind. Tell Nat hi for me, hope he's still well.
Keep rockin' like you always have been, love ya man
    (Hmm That's kinda GAY)

You might not have been the most active commander, but you made Medical fun and pushed me to be my best. May the Valorant queues forever be favorable to you. Hope ROTC also goes well. You've got a damn bright future ahead of you, don't forget it!

Unarrested me from a false arrest on my first day on the server one year ago. You all have him to thank for me staying any longer than that. Hope your well man, wherever you are. #EARFGANG

    Kio/Kitchan

Among the best GMs to work with. Thanks for doing your best there, I know not enough people tell you that. Hope HCOM works out for you my man. Promise me you won't play Ebarbs Rage on ladder while I'm gone, mkay?

    Paprika
    Inactive lol.
On a serious note, Medical Storylines would not have been possible without you as our go-to GM. I apologize if I burnt you out on that. The Medical Restoration of February 2022 would not have been possible without your hard work GM work. Thank you.

Pie/Pumpkin Pie/Cherry Pie/Whatever other freaking Pie name you had
I still believe in you. You were an excellent Vice Commander and that's why you're where you are now. I apologize that last month went the way it did for me and I was not available to help enough. I wanted to do more and I can't express how much sorrow I feel that I could not be present when Medical perhaps needed my overseerment most. November is a new month though, and you have the ability to change the course if you genuinely give it everything you've got. Medical came back from worse, so don't lose faith in those around you, and more importantly don't lose faith in yourself. You haven't let me or anyone else down until you give up.

    Harry/James
Don't let them find the secret organ storage vault!

For Real though, We both joined Shock at a similar time and grew together as enlisted before I began Maining Medical. Over the last year I've not just watched you grow in Rank, you've grown as a person, and I cannot express enough how proud I am of you. One day you may also end up taking the reigns of the Medical battalion to guide it by your own hand. I have full faith in you when that day comes.

    AX5/DOS/Girlie/Mayhem
Probably my bestest friend from DT. Epic Gamer Girl and super fun to work with and plan joint activities with. Honestly you should've gotten Vice that first time, you couldn't have been more inactive than the guy who did get it. ....... But that's beyond the scope and point of this post. I apologize that I was not here this month, I would've loved to see you back on the server and get up to some fun antics without the regulations of DT holding you back. Hopefully that might happen again one day but until then I'd love to play some other games with you sometime.
    -p.s. "Axis lol"

    Odin

Hope I made you proud and fulfilled those high expectations of yours. Stay well my man, looks like I'll have to join you on that Grind Path now.

Remember when you were Admiral last year and I saved you from a dumb unauthorized Hostage situation only for Bear to arrest me? That was a wild memory, I can still hear the entire Medical Command team ready to go to WAR for my release to this day. Anyways, glad we fulfilled our ambitions to be in HCOM together man. I hope you get to Tarkin someday.

    Jabronie
Thank God you exist my man. Literally saved SF after Manjini. 'nuff said.

Hope your Senior Commander journey works out.

    All of DT
Thank you all for being so kind to me. I hope the RP dynamic we had was fun. Being DT's personal Pocket Medical before and even after M36 was fun and created some of my favorite and most memorable moments here.

    A Couple of FAQs:

Q: When will you be back?
A: I'm not sure, Spring of next year at the earliest more than likely.

Q: Where can I keep up with you?
A: 𝓗𝓮𝔁𝔂 𝓦𝓮𝔁𝔂#0084 on Discord. My steam Profile is also linked there, so you can add me there too if you wanna game some time. ❤️

Q: What about the Medical Rap? What about all of those projects you mentioned wanting to work on?
A: Haven't had time or motivation to work on them after scrapping them so many times, and most likely never will. The only exception is the Skulltag-Style Announcer Voice Lines, as I've gotten quite a bit of that done and still have a drive to do it. If any of you care about that specific project of mine is a different question, but that's the answer and I'd like to stop being asked.

Q: Will you ever return to HCOM?
A: Unless I somehow get HCOM reserves, which I believe is impossible, then it's almost certain I will not. I had to sacrifice a ton of time in my life towards simply reaching HCOM and I will likely not have that kind of time again to do more than simply hold a position.

Q: What happened to you and Flut-
A: It's none of your business.

Q: Can you unblock me on Discord?
    A: No. Leave me alone.

Thank you all, and I suppose I'll leave you with my new favorite motivational Song. Maybe it'll encourage you and keep you smiling and hopeful like it did me.

  2. Battalion Name: IC

    Job/Class Name:  Fixer

    Model Path:

    - Current model:  Models/player/sample/re/delta/fixer.mdl
    - New model: N/A
    Reason for change: N/A

    Weapon Kit:

    - Current loadout:
    Radio
    DC-17 Side Arm (Red)

    DC-17m Rifle (Red)

    F-187 Fusion Cutter

    Detonator

    DC-17m Shotgun (Red)

    Smoke Grenade

    Thermal Detonator

    Dual DC-17 Side Arm (Red)

    Flashbang

    Cross Arms (Infront)

    Cross Arms

    Bacta Booster Kit

    - Add: alydus_fortificationbuildertablet

    - Remove: N/A

Reason for change (do you think that said weapons is suitable for the job and is fair considering current loadouts of other battalions?): Due to the abysmal inactivity of Engineers, the ECP has lacked fortifications and defenses for a lot of events. We wanted to solve this issue without curbing Engineer's appeal, so we took after DT's change of only giving it to one job. IC's Fixer was the perfect job as in lore he is a technician, which makes sense for him to have engineering stuff. This change fixes IC's issue while still not stepping on Engineer's toes in any significant measure

    Health:
    - Current: 800
    - New: 800

    Armor:
    - Current: 300
    - New: 300

    Reason for health/armor changes: N/A

    Description (Optional): N/A

Do you believe these changes are fair to the battalion/job role it is responsible for and will benefit the server, if so, why?: One of the fun parts of defending EC comes from the array of Fortifications that wake your defense more dynamic and formidible looking. As the main defenders of EC, IC have been suffering greatly from lack of activity from Engineers, which is a factor out of their control, and this will allow them to help them take that issue into their own hands.

In my Opinion Harry is the best Candidate for the position at this current moment. He takes Roleplaying to heart and is always energetic and passionate about everything he does. Harry has creativity, time, dedication, and an affable nature which are excellent traits for a member of the Command Team! Harry has always gone above and beyond the expectations of a Medical Officer, consistently making RP situations more fun simply by his participation. I feel it would be a shame for him not to have a shot at a Command position with all that he's done under both mine and Pie's supervision.

Many officers in Medical and members outside have had issues with sharky of him being rude to them or harassing them. These issues have been reported to Medical Command on several occasions going back the last few months, and it is my understanding that these issues with Sharky have existed since he joined the server under Keegan. At one point he even got demoted from COL to LTCOL due to some issues he had within medical. He has abused his power to unnecessarily punish/PT members and is pretty unstable with his attitude. I don’t believe he has what it takes to properly work together with all of current medical to run the battalion properly and without biases, and think other members would be a better fit at this time.

I personally oversaw this happening recently where an entire document was made as a report of these issues from many individuals inside Medical. To be fair to him, over half of them were genuine innocent misunderstandings or had been resolved already without knowledge of the doc's creator, and in addition Sharky Conducted himself well when I had him and those with grievances air them out in a private TS setting.

Sharky is slowly improving on these matters, and this should not be discounted. He is still a young man and maturity takes time. Unfortunately I am not quite in support of an advancement into Medical Command. These issues still exist to a degree I am not comfortable with and unfortunately a big part of being a command member is that those you lead must respect you.

  5. What Is Your IGN (In Game Name):
    Senior Commander Hex

Why Do You Want to Become the Position of Brigadier General?:

The position of Brigadier General has long been a dream of mine ever since being Officer. The reason of why I've always sought this position comes back to an aspiration of mine in real life. I want to be a supervisor or Manager in my real life line of work. It's what my father did before me and it's the footsteps I want to follow in. My entire life I've had many confidence issues when it comes to leading others in the past, and my 8 month journey in command on this server has been an incredible personal journey for me to become more confident in myself in terms of leading others, managing operations of large groups of people, and doing many tasks that real managers and supervisors have to do. I find the position of High Command to be the ultimate Litmus Test for my abilities in this field. It shall serve to finally prove to myself that I can handle these thing in my real career. At the same time it's not just for myself that I want to apply. For every rank that stands in front of me there's been a bunch of sweet and supportive people that have been wanting me to advance to it. As much as its a personal journey, its a journey for others as well. To give back to the server that gave me self-confidence and to those who helped push me to achieving it.

In Your Opinion, What is One Thing That Army High Command Needs to Improve on?:

I have surveyed some of the people in the regiments I've overseen and both they and I believe that High Command sometimes has an issue with communication of changes inbound to their regiment from High Command and SMT as well as changes outbound that the Command Teams are requesting. This is among the most important things as I've been greatly witness to during my overseerment of DT. A lack of effective communication and action between cooperating participants can lead to a spiral of Stagnation that many regiments at this moment can ill afford. Lack of communication and meaningful updates when trying to bring big changes to a struggling regiment creates the perception of the Chain of Command being disorganized and faulty, leading to a loss of faith in higher-ups, and further leading to possible loss of hope and resignation. It is imperative that communication with Regiments being overseen is top priority amongst the High Command Team.

What Is One Change You Will Implement as a Member of High Command?:

I believe we can have a form implemented that allows Low Command Team members to rate the performance of High Command members that oversee their battalions. This check being in place ensures that High Command overseers are always performing to their best and do their absolute best to help each regiment and improve upon it during their month of overseerment. In its implementation, it will make sure that the aforementioned problem listed is paid attention to. Responses to this form should be reviewed by Senior High Command at the end of the month to evaluate whether or not members of High Command are performing to expectations.

What Is the Purpose of a Brigadier General?:

As a part of the highest echelon of those amongst their branch, a Brigadier General must ensure that each Regiment it takes under it's watchful eye are fully supported with Advice on Regimental Affairs, Feedback and Suggestions for Changes, Clear Communication, Participation in Regimental Affairs via the reserve whitelist, and Forums Activity Surrounding Changes in the Regiment. A Brigadier General should be temperate and wise in the counsel and decisions, as the buck stops with them on approval for many decisions. They are responsible for holding Low Command to meeting the expectations set out for them, such as Quota, Behavior, Activity, etc.. High Command are also the communication link between Low Command and SMT, and it is crucial that a Brigadier General maintains this delegated responsibility at all times necessary. A Brigadier General may be called upon to host the Command Meeting each week, or take notes for it.

What Have You Done in Your Current Position to Be Deserving of This Rank?:

I have been part of the Low Command Team for a full 8 1/2 Months, constantly working as hard as I can to firstly improve the state of the Medical Corps Regiment that I Commanded, then other regiments such as Shock and Nova as I began overseeing them via my assignments as Senior Commander Assignments. Even though I had a chance to become a member of High Command over a month ago, I declined it in order to ensure that the Medical Regiment smoothly made it through the Roll Call we had during the Application process, as well as attempting to further aid Nova who was having exceptional membership struggles during that time. As a Low Command Member, the battalions that I oversee and their health has always come first, to the point where many times my sleep schedule would get impacted due to my determination to complete work needed for regiments within a deadline. I have spent a full 9 months dedicating my free time to this Server, my regiment, and the people in it, and I still maintain a high degree of that passion today. In terms of the Army Regiment, I am currently it's only Senior Commander, and I have 2-3 months of experience in overseeing regiments and assisting their command teams in achieving their goals and improving the status of their regiments.

Why Should We Choose You For This Position over Other Applicants?:

As stated before, I am the most senior member of the Low Command Team from Army as it's only Senior Commander. I have achieved this rank through my dedication not only to Medical, but in doing my best to help other Regiments as much as possible in my efforts to keep my Regiment in as good a position as I could. I have exceptional experience in training those under me to be good Command members, as Pie and Jerrid have become exceptionally capable of taking the regiment into their own hands while I occasionally had to be away. I was also among the first to be promoted to the Senior Commander Program due to my performances and experience in overseeing other regiments. I have an excellent knack for being able to interact with and get along with every command team I meet and oversee. I additionally have a knack for conflict resolution, as I have been able to demonstrate in multiple situations that have occurred during my time here.

In Your Opinion, What Are the Key Qualities That Will Allow AHC to Perform Best?:

Communication, Professionalism, Fairness, Dilligence, Dedication, and Good Humor.

    Do You Have Any Warns?:

Nope! Last time I checked I was the goodest of good boys!

This will enable Senior Commanders to have a greater impact, take on more responsibilities, and be better prepared for the next step. The equipment provided to them is balanced, and their HP and Armor are comparable to command jobs in other battalions. This position is open to all Senior Commanders from all branches and battalions. Will help with the stagnation of progression within battalions caused by Senior Commanders staying for so long and preventing talented VCMDRs from moving up. Great idea, and I can't wait to see how it works.

This update has been in the works for the past 2-3 weeks. Our goal with this update was to make Rescue stand out far more from the Standard Medical Trooper who can already do surgeries and gains a similar loadout to Rescue as they increase in rank. This rank gives an extra sense of mobility and combat power to Rescue by changing its combat dynamic role, which despite being a specialty is currently seriously underutilized in the current state sub-regiment.

    - The models have been suggested to be used in the past and was denied by SMT management

+ With that being said this would make that sub regiment so much more unique to be on as it stands right now the sub regiment just looks like a normal NCO trooper witch makes no sense given that Enlisted Troopers are allowed to be apart of the job it would add so much more to the sub regiment then what it is now.

^ The models were rejected before when attached to the "Bio-Trooper" idea. SMT stated in response to the denied suggestion post that they were confused of the Bio-Trooper concept, so it's more than likely that was why they weren't accepted rather than the models themselves.

  8. +Super Support!

I believe Medical's weapon loadouts need an change, especially with the Enlisted loadout having only an E-11 which is quite pitiful and bland. Considering most Medical Classes in Multiplayer games use SMGs, I feel that an SMG fits Medical's weapon style more than a blaster rifle or LMG. However, currently the only SMG in the server is the DC-15s (Purge) and the OP one for DT, the latter of which is too powerful for a Medical regiment. Therefore, in a preliminary step to making this change, we can create a new usable SMG from the DLT-19s which is not used anywhere other than the Medical Droid.

This Change hurts no one and makes a better, more defined and viable weapon out of a nearly unused one that currently serves no purpose.

  9. + Super Support!
This is a very important addition to add to Medical. Many in my regiment have been very upset about the downgrade in their healing abilities and some have even quit over it. I feel at this point Medical urgently needs either an improvement in their general healing ability or a new healing function to perform. Many in Medical were very excited when we presented this idea to them as a new function they could perform that no other regiment or CC could take from them, making them a force of additional use and convenience to other troopers on the field, as the current aids Medical provides currently serve as a slight annoyance sometimes with both Medics and their beneficiary needing to stand still for 30 seconds or more. This new change means that even should that result in the death of the trooper being healed (and it very often will), they can be saved a respawn wait time and transport wait by that nearby medic.

As for the couple of concerns I've seen that some have, I shall address those here in an FAQ below:

Q: What about the Premium Tac Inserts? Won't those be devalued?
A: No. This change requires you to die around a medic to get the same effect guaranteed by the Tac Insert, meaning if you have not died in Medbay, Medical's Defcon locations on ship, or near one of the scattered Medics off-ship, the Tac Insert will be a more reliable tool to have as it guarantees a nearby respawn no matter where you die. A guaranteed close respawn is still worthy of being paid for if the alternative in practice relies on a moderate degree of luck to achieve the same result. Also, there may be some Black-Ops regiments like DT who may add regulations to their SOP that forbid them from being revived if they wish to restrict that due to lore reasons. Tacs will still be very important.

Q: Wouldn't this cause lag or be otherwise troublesome if implemented?
A: To my knowledge, a similar (if not exact) mod is currently in use on GamingLight's PoliceRP server, so if it works fine for them, it should work well enough here.

Q: Wouldn't this hurt the importance of SF's Cobra Squadron mission transport duties?
A: Not too significantly. In practice some people on off-ship missions will inevitably die away from Medics, run out the timer or not feel like waiting, or be missed by a nearby Medic on accident. Even though reduced, There will still be enough people needing respawn transport to make Cobra Squadron's duties important.

Each of these above concerns have been closely considered in bringing this idea forward as a suggestion, though any other concerns are important to put forward and address so that we can ensure that this is a smooth addition to our regiment.

Starch and I have talked this update through and it should be a pretty easy change to add. The Medica Droid having its Bacta Grenade removed would lessen minging incidents and having it within the fold of the Medical Corps would make people be more serious on the job. This would further be ensured by only allowing Senior NCO+ on the job as well as having no more than 2 job slots. The Droid would be of extensive help in surgery RP and would give extra incentive to perform them.

You are an excellent officer and have shown great effort this recent week. Unfortunately this Application is not detailed enough in regard to what is expected for a Command Application. If the App was written better and more thoroughly and you had a bit more time in Medical under your belt, I'd feel more comfortable +Supporting it.

You should amend your application as this is not true; when you were in Medical originally under me you did receive a strike and some demotions from me.

Furthermore, I do expect an application to be written better, as this has many spelling errors, grammatical errors, and formatting issues in it that could make it difficult to read for some.

Regarding you being ready for Medical Vice Commander: You are very good at pumping out many tryout advertisements, and hosting many simulations, but that does not comprise a Command Member. I have not seen in you the maturity required or the ability from you to work upon your own. For both your NCO and Officer applications you came to me for assistance, which I provided you for the NCO one due to feeling apologetic for my previous punishments of you. However, with the Officer application you repeatedly insisted on me reviewing it for you despite saying 6 times that I would not do so as you need more independence to be able to succeed.

There are also some things regarding being an Officer and potential Command member that you still need to learn, such as how to handle punishing others with the power bestowed upon you. Not too long ago you wanted to strike a member of Medical for this response to a ping you did. The fact that as a VCMDR this would have just been a strike with no supervision is extremely concerning to me.

    spacer.png

    spacer.png

With all this said, my main concern for you is an ability to manage a battalion, as I have not seen the maturity for that from you yet. I do not find that this is the right time for you, as I believe you need to work on these issues still.

    - Support. Needs more time and experience

Unfortunately I must agree with a lot of this. I have observed this to be a consistent pattern of behavior. I observed this happening with an even lesser incident with a different officer more recently.

Sharky also seems to focus a lot of attention on things that are not issues for anyone except for himself. As a Command member, spending a lot of time that is typically heavily contested with various other tasks arguing over something as small and unnecessary as what is shown in the screenshots below is concerning to me as well.

    image.thumb.png.c79d5be914296b3364110978ecabed15.pngimage.thumb.png.64f2291dc2c7dd89f70059a947f74136.png

I am aware that Sharky was previously in Medical last summer before I joined the server. While I am uncertain of the exact happenings during his previous memberships, I witnessed firsthand in multiple in-game disciplinary incidents I had to personally deal with relating to  many issues he had  that would constantly resurface with people he was in Medical with back then. I believe an important part of being in Command that I quickly had to learn myself is being able to work with people you may have issues with, respect them, and know when to not say anything in certain situations.

With all of that said, his consistent and very impressive activity and quota performance since his return, and this is a big bright spot for him. There is no doubt in my mind that he could handle the position once these issues are rectified. It Should also be noted that Sharky is a very creative person and would be very good at pitching ideas for battalion updates, new RP functions for Medical to partake in, and SOP adjustments. He has been very active in that regard as Officer already, and most recently is working with IF and its command on a new collaborative RP concept between IF and Research that's pending review with Medical Command that I feel has a lot of promise. In these and other areas Sharky certainly shines, so there is a lot of potential in him given time.

Unfortunately, the discipline issues are a deal-breaker for me at this moment in time in my opinion.
