+ Support - Active - Does his job - helpful - has exhibited good personality traits of an officer

^ Larrie is very active within shock, and has done very well with his position in heavy, especially considering how quickly he was put into it. I would love to see how he could use those skills to benefit the battalion as a whole. Big +Support

+Support - Has significant experience relevant to staffing Relatively new to Gaminglight, but as a trial moderator the whole point is to learn.

What is your in-game name? Axle What is your current rank? SFC How long have you been in Shock? About two weeks, though I have been in shock before. How much time do you have on the server? 760 hours according to battlemetrics, but over 2500 according to steam. Why do you feel that you deserve the position of officer? I have a significant amount of experience on the server now, and have been a member of almost every battalion. Because of this I have extensive knowledge about how most of the server operates and could use that to better guide and lead the enlisted and NCOs, this experience means I can also answer many questions that some others can't, which is an essential part of being an officer in my opinion, as officers should be helping to teach those below them to help better prepare them to become NCOs or officers themselves. Why do you feel you can be trusted to hold this position? As mentioned above, I have likely at least 1000 hours on the server, although I suspect the number to be much higher, and I have also donated an amount of money that, to me, is not insignificant. I do not think that being a donor makes me a better choice, but I do think that the amount of time and money I've invested into the server means I am very unlikely to throw it away on something that may make me untrustworthy in the eyes of the server. Also, over hundreds of hours across close to three and a half years on the server I have never received a formal warning. If chosen, what can you add to the battalion that other applicants can't? I am focusing a lot of attention on the heavy sub battalion at the moment, but as an officer I would like to be hosting sims for the whole battalion to participate in to try to increase the overall activity and engagement of the members of shock, not just heavy. I believe that this is something that sets me apart from other potential applicants, as while I know some people who host sims, trainings, and tryouts simply to meet their quotas, I do them simply because I enjoy it and such am likely to host a lot more to keep people from being bored between events and similar things. How active can you be? I am generally fully active at least 6-8 hours every day. this should be expected to decrease slightly in upcoming weeks as the start of school approaches, but I will still likely be very active in the evening once school starts, as I do not spend much time on schoolwork at home. When school starts, however, Fridays and Saturdays will be low activity days for me, as I will have to perform with the marching band at both football games and competitions. This may impeded my ability to attend meetings, but this will only happen for a few Saturdays out of the year, as band competitions stop toward the end of October and don't start until the beginning of September. Who Are the 2 Maj+ That Gave Permission? VCMDR Zach and VCMDR Venus

How do you add signatures to the bottom of forum comments/posts? Showing people your ranks and achievements within the community helps to add credibility to your claims or arguments when responding to topics.

+Support John is a well known member of the community at this point, both through his ranks in rp and as a member of the GM team, I believe John to be a reputable person and though I don't know him personally anytime I see him he is only contributing positively to the server.

What is your in-game name?: Axolotl What is your steam name?: OpalineGalaxy What is your steam ID?: STEAM_0:1:460472920 Do you have any other experience with staffing?: Yes, I was previously staff on gaminglight a few years ago, but I ended up leaving the server after some issues arising from miscommunication that can be read in further detail in this post. What date did you start playing on the community close to three years ago today, so around june-august of 2020. would have been a few months before I made my forums account. What date did you make your forums account: November 28, 2020 Current rank on server (This is a ULX rank ONLY! Not a RP Rank): Darth How many warns do you have on the server: 0 Have you donated? Yes What rank are you applying for? Trial Moderator Have you read the staff guidelines at You will be tested on it: Yes Timezone: Central Standard Time Permission (Admin+ need this): N/A Why do you believe that you deserve the rank? (Can be any length): I believe that there is a lot of cases where people don't particularly want to break the rules but simply misinterpret or misunderstand them and I want to help prevent situations like that from arising. I also believe that I deserve this rank because I can help to keep the server safe for other players who are reporting people for whatever reason they report for. The more staff there are the faster they can respond to prevent scenarios that would cause people who are roleplaying to leave, as if they feel they are being harassed they may not want to come back. Overall, I want to make the server a safer place for the people playing on it so that the people who are playing on it have a good experience. How would you handle someone that is Mass RDMing and when you bring him/her to an admin sit all they do is curse at you?: In this situation I would gag the person for a few seconds so that they could calm down, then ask them what happened, as I don't want to immediately assume the worst. If they cannot calm down or do calm down and fail to provide a valid reason for why they were RDMing then I would call a moderator and ask for their opinion, and if they agreed then we would call an admin to ban them. If no admins were on then I would warn the player for Mass RDM, and contact an admin as soon as possible who could properly administer the ban.

staffreport Watermelon - Trial Moderator Report- Denied
Axle replied to Eris-Proxis-Silver's topic in Denied
The part about there being no staff on simply isn’t true. Both myself and @Isaac. were on and we both asked you to remove the prop however you refused. Things were not out of control either, their were plenty of people guarding Brig, and the people who were escaping were exploiting the map to do so, not being released by others. Even so what you did directly interfered with the role play, and prevented access to a vital area of the ship on more occasions than just this one. This also prevents anyone who was falsely arrested from being unarrested without the help of an Admin, and you went AFK shortly after the prop was placed, when it should have at the very least been your responsibility to deal with things in brig, as you were the one who placed the prop. -
Here to cast my rebuttal against this report first of all I was not aware that playing music is not allowed in cantina, as mentioned above it is a widespread belief in the community that it is. I understand that mic spam is not allowed, however no one else classified it as such. Many people were there who didn’t care about the music and they were “dancing” along to it. Also as mentioned above the cantina is an OOC area where droids are allowed to talk, and therefore FailRP does not apply. If everyone had a problem with the music I would have stopped but the fact is most of them followed me there on purpose so they could listen to it, as I was previously doing it outside medbay. I moved to cantina because I didn’t want it to classify as mic spam and I knew for a fact that at med hay it did. If replying to a report against oneself is not allowed then I will delete this post as long as it is stated by someone other than the reporter, however unless stated otherwise I see no reason I should not be allowed to defend myself.

staffreport Watermelon - Trial Moderator Report- Denied
Axle replied to Eris-Proxis-Silver's topic in Denied
+ Support as well, I provided some photo evidence for this report as well as witnessed it myself on multiple occasions, and I believe that this kind of thing should not be acceptable as it is directly interfering with the RP experience of the players. I do agree that the ban may be a bit much, But I believe a staff restriction is necessary as this has been a serious and repetitive problem. + Have witnessed these issues myself + photo evidence included + The staff in question lied about having permission from Head Admin Luci to do this + Punishment no longer includes the ban, I believe now that this form should be accepted in it’s entirety. -
Overall - support - MRDM question very short and does not mention logs. - One and only post so far on the forums - Whole application seems rushed, and short - New to the community - “Why do you think you deserve this position?” Answer just seems generic, and short. ++ Lots of previous experience staffing
-
Overall - Support - second half of the why you think you deserve the rank question seemed a bit rushed to me - MRDM question does not mention Checking logs or any proof at all, it also does not mention attempting to reason with the person or gagging them if they refuse to stop cursing. - relatively new to the community - I have been on a lot and I have not seen you at all. + previous experience staffing
-
+Support +Very active in game +been in the community for a while +very in depth application +know to be very polite in game

What is your ingame name?: Teal What is your SteamID: STEAM_0:1:460472920 What is your rank on the Naval Roster?: Midshipman What specialty are you applying for?: Medical What Naval HC (Admiral +) gave you permission to apply?: Admiral Garrick Versio What can you do to improve the branch you will be responsible for? I want to help improve the medical branch, and ensure that it runs smoothly, it may also be necessary to cut down on the number of "legal kidnappings" that take place. I have noticed that many people go to medical tryouts and pass, but stop playing when they are not promoted from the rank of trainee to private fast enough for their liking, as the rank of trainee has a few extra restrictions on it. I want to help make medical more active, as I always see the same five people on every day, of course with a few exceptions but not many Why should you be trusted with this position?: I should be trusted with this position because I have already dedicated time and effort to this server that I have not dedicated to any other servers, I have done my absolute best to make sure that this server runs smoothly through my rank as naval, I have also made it quite far in the medical battalion itself, I achieved the rank of SSGT, which may not be very far in the end, but it at the very least shows that I am committed to serving the Medical Corps, and The ISD as a whole, to the best of my ability. Why do you want this rank?: I want this rank because as mentioned in the last two questions, I have dedicated most of my time on this server to the Medical Corps, and I would like to continue to do so through my position in naval as well. I wish to bring more people in to medical, as I dont like seeing people who have potential in medical leaving, or just leaving the server without saying anything, and I believe that I can figure out a way to help with that. Also as mentioned above I want to help make sure that medical runs smoothly, and attempt to keep the medical from getting themselves in trouble with their antics, they are funny but I want to make sure that they don't get out of hand, that way I don't have to see medical getting in trouble for trying to knock out an admiral and steal their organs without permission. As stated above, I have already devoted a lot of time to medical and I wish to continue doing so as a specialty officer. Do you understand that if you receive a strike you will be stripped of this rank?: Yes, I understand and I do not believe that this action will be necessary. What is your purpose within your assigned branch?: My purpose will be to be an active participant in the Medical Corps, and be knowledgeable of it, as well as hosting tryouts in order to bring in more troopers, In the end my duty will be to act as a functioning officer of the Medical Corps, and to ensure that it continues to be an active branch that is involved in the server, as well as to make sure that it continues to run smoothly and make sure each member is a functioning member of the server.

Thanks for the feedback, I’ll admit I could have done better with the application and I understand it is not likely that I get accepted, however I am at least happy that I know what to improve on in case I try again. Thanks again.

What is your in-game name?: Teal/MC SG S SSGT Teal 1271/Midshipman Teal What is your steam name?: Tealfaded What is your steam ID?: STEAM_0:1:460472920 Do you have any other experience with staffing?: (If yes, explain) No, I do not. What date did you start playing on the community? (roughly) Around October 25-30 What date did you make your forums account? 11-28-2020 Current rank on server (This is a ULX rank ONLY! Not a RP Rank)? Darth How many warns do you have on the server? 0 Have you donated? Yes, $70 What rank are you applying for? Trial Moderator Have you read the staff guidelines at Yes You will be tested on it: Timezone: CST (Central Standard Time) Permission (Admin+ need this): N/A Why do you believe that you deserve the rank? (Can be any length) I believe I deserve the rank because when necessary I have the capacity to act professionally, which I believe is a desirable trait in a staff position. I like to hear both sides of the story in a situation where it’s one person’s word against the other’s, and I pay close attention to detail. If I ever have to arrest someone I make sure to hear their explanation before arresting, as I have had multiple situations where if I had just punished someone before hearing their side of things then I would have accidentally punished them for an invalid reason. I believe in treating each player fairly and in a dispute I try to keep things cool, I believe that the solution that results in the least dissatisfaction from the people involved is the best solution, however sadly this isn’t always possible. How would you handle someone that is Mass RDMing and when you bring him/her to an admin sit all they do is curse at you? As I am applying for Trial Moderator, I would try to calm them down, and also call for a Moderator or Admin to help me, I would make sure to gag the player if they refused to calm down, as I am sure it is hard for staff to do their job with a player screaming curse words at them. Under the circumstances a ban would probably be necessary, in which case I would need an admin to assist me because as a Trial Moderator I would not be allowed to ban users myself.
