  1. Afternoon all, I have been thinking about this for a few weeks now and have made my decision to retire for GMOD. I no longer find joy in the game or the server. As I have made my way up and down the ranks my time has went from having fun and enjoying the people around me and the starwars universe to a feeling of overwork. I always feel like I am being expected to put my all into the server, whether I a am a VCMDR, or a 1LT. I love each and everyone of you and my discord is always open. But I can no longer pour my time into the server. Love you guys.
  2. ERIN / Striever NCO Application What is your in game name? Erin What is your SteamID? STEAM_0:0:14431308 What is your current rank? SPC How much time do you currently have on the server? 634 hrs How long have you been in Nova? 3 days How will you assist Nova with this rank? [50+ words] I really enjoy hosting and creating fun sims for battalions. I personally would like to see a very active Nova battalion on. So as an NCO I would be able to host tryouts and bring in fresh active blood and show them how amazing nova really is. Leading troopers is in my core being, I really enjoy and excel at knowing when and where to give orders, training, encouragement and discipline. As a NCO I would show the lower enlisted what it means to lead, and to help them reach the rank of NCO. Why do you want to become an NCO? [50+] As I said above, I am a leader through and through. I know what is expected as an NCO and how to emulate one. I have been an NCO before and know what troopers look up to. Working with the battalion to strengthen and unify it would not only be a great thing for me to do but it would ultimately strengthen the server. I have been on gaminglight a long time. Been up and down the ranks, I love this server and it's community. I want to show the rest of the ISD how amazing Nova really is. Do you have any experience leading / being an NCO? I have been an NCO in shock, as well as the Vice Commander for shock. I know exactly how to do my job and how to do it well. I am also in the Military IRL and have lead many troops IRL so I know what is expected of a leader, that being said I also know how hard it is to be a leader with all eyes constantly on you. I want to show through my actions the being a leader in Nova strengthens us all. What is the purpose/duty of an NCO? [75+] In my words an NCO is a mid tier rank that's sole purpose is to help the lower enlisted. To teach them the ropes and to guide them along the path of reaching their goals. No matter my aspirations and selfish ambitions the lower enlisted under me come first. If they are failing I am failing. If they are succeeding I am succeeding. Working to create a strong base in the Nova battalion is the duty of an NCO. A strong foundation of ready capable troopers is the only thing that will ensure the Battalion succeeds. As an NCO I would work hard to create that foundation, first by getting to know and to trust each of my troopers. Then I would build them up and show them the ropes of the Battalion. After they are each comfortable in their duties I would be comfortable bringing in new recruits. I would train the recruits initially and the task my CPL and SPC to show them what it means to be a Nova Trooper. I will ensure that our Battalion is the most disciplined, respected and well oiled battalion on the ISD. I want to show the rest of the ISD what they need to emulate. I just want to thank each and everyone of you for taking the time in reading my application. During the application it may seem like I am bragging. But in all reality I am confident in my ability to lead, and to accomplish each and every one of these goals.
  3. + Support Well written app. I don't know who this is but seems like a good person.
  4. What is your IGN Striever What Regiment are you applying for Shock Vice Commander Why do you want to be a commander of this branch I have been on the server for around 3 months now. I have moved through the ranks quickly enough with a goal of becoming command. The reason I want to be a commander of SHOCK is because I believe that Shock is one of the best battalions on the ISD, I want to continue to build up the battalion and make it the most respected and dependable battalion on the ship. As I moved up the ranks I was able to see the different areas of the battalion that needed work and that were doing well. As I moved up I have been able to make the necessary changes to each facet of the battalion with the little amount of authority I attained. As a VCMDR I know that I would have the ability to create shock into the battalion it deserves to be. Shock has a duty to the personnel on the ship and to the server as a whole. That duty is to create a fun but safe environment for all players. We are the one who are tasked with creating order on the ship, I have had the opportunity to work with my peers and lower enlisted to create the space necessary to live to shocks expectations, but as a VCMDR I would have the opportunity to create the space with other battalions and high command. How much game time do you have on the server 372hrs What is the Main Purpose of a commander for a branch As a Vice Commander, according to the SOP, they are tasked with keeping the roster up to date, to allow tall officers the latest information on promotions and lead the battalion, while assisting the Commander with their duties. They are also more innately tasked with supervising the COL and below, they deal with issues officers cannot handle, battalion relations, Can promote up to MAJ and has the ability to give reserves. This is exactly what the SOP says but I believe there is a lot more to it. As a VCMDR you are watched by everyone in the battalion on the ship. The more they watch you the more a little mess up could hurt the battalion. That being said, as a VCMDR it is your duty and responsibility to show through your actions what is expected of the battalion. Yes, you have to do all the paperwork side of things but you are required even more to show your battalion what it means to be a shock trooper. I believe that this responsibility is huge and should be treated with the respect it is due. Why should we trust you to be a commander There are many reasons why I should be trusted as a vice commander. First and foremost I am active and I work hard to create a space that is respectful and fun for all of my troops. I have been in Shock for a long time now creating, a relationship with all other battalions. I am a Moderator and GM, I only point this out because I believe it shows my dedication as a whole. I am the Heavy Specialist Lead, and have been actively building the sub-battalion since it was created two and a half months ago. I understand the lore behind shock and I work to build upon that in shock. I am often the only shock on and am constantly asking for help getting shock flag ups, getting people to fill out their activity checks and so forth. As a Captain in shock I know that I already fulfill all of the responsibilities of my rank and more. I have worked hard to get to where I am today, and will continue to push my battalion to be the best it can be, no matter of my rank. How often can you be online 4-8 hours, 6 days a week. Do you have any Warnings I have no warnings PS I completely understand if you believe I wouldn't be a good fit. I just want to thank you for taking the time to review my application
  5. In-game name: Striever SteamID: STEAM_0:0:144313080 Current RP rank on StarWarsRP: 2LT Have you donated to the server? Yes I have. I have Donated multiple times Have you been banned on any GL server before?: No Have you received any warnings (please give reasons if applicable)?: Yes back in 2016. I can look at my warns but they are void. I was 16 at the time and didn't have the maturity I do now. How much time do you have on the server?: Over 200 hours How well do you know the LORE? Explain: My knowledge of the lore is lackluster. I am actively learning more and more as we speak. I know the very obvious lore based on the films and tv shows but I have been researching the many different facets of the Star Wars universe. Why do you WANT to become a Gamemaster?: First off, as a moderator I often see GM's being needed for sims. I would like to add to that. I am working on my own Star wars RP map that would institute a lot of ai/GM ui to be utilized by the GM's which I want to pitch to Gaming light to be used for Imperial RP. I want to change the way events are being done and instead of just random drop pods here or there, we would have Rebels actively try to gain control of the ship. Why should you be trusted to be a Game Master?: I have been staff for a couple of months now. Unfortunately I haven't been at work during most of the meeting but I want to fix that. I have never had a problem with being staff. One of the problems as a moderator is that everyone is trying hard to take sits and if you are not fast enough you cannot take any. I would like to be able to work with different battalions and give life to their sims. Are you familiar/experiences with ULX?: I have some experience but I can always learn more. Are you experienced with being a Game Master and how they function?: I have been hosting sims for shock for a month now. So I usually work with gms on creating fun sims for shock. I also have been an event character for multiple events. Give a brief example of an on-ship event, as well as an example of an off-ship event: On-Ship: Rebel forces have taken control of the pandora and are now firing on the ISD, the rebels have boarded ships and are landing on the ISD. Rebel troops and a jedi have made their way through the ship causing chaos and have stolen valuable information regarding the unplanned death star. The have made their way back to MHB and to Hoth. The ISD has assembled all ground battalions and have hyperspaced to HOTH. [this is the off ship part] The battalions have formed up and are tasked on eliminating all rebel troops. They eliminate the troops on hoth stealing back the information. Do you know how to give a weapon/SWEP to yourself/someone? (Give an example): To give a swep/weapon to someone you copy said weapon to your toolgun then using the toolgun you aim and spawn it on said player. You can also copy the link and do !give @ weapon_752_se14c Do you know how to model yourself/someone? (Give an example): Copy the model to your clipboard and say !model @ models/player/jedi/bith.mdl Have you read the Gamemaster Guidelines?: Yes I have. If you have anymore questions please let me know, I would be happy to answer them.

  9. Shock Security Officer Format: What is your in-game name? Striever What is your current rank? MSGT How long have you been in Shock? 3 months How much time do you have on the server? Like 200 hours I don't know exactly. My time since starting this server on steam went from 800 hrs. too over a 1000. This is the only server I play Why do you feel that you deserve the position of officer? I have been an NCO for over a month. I often times am the highest commanding trooper on, so I have no control over promotions or anything. I usually ask high command to help. Also, I have hosted a number of sims, and my tryout numbers are higher than most. I have spent 90% of my in-game money awarding the troops in sims, and I enjoy leading the troops in events. I also put in on average 8 hours a day 6 days a week into the battalion. My only job is shock, I have no interest in joining any other battalion, as I am most invested into shock. There are certain members of the nco team that I believe to not embody the title and responsibility given to them as an NCO. The job of an NCO is to take care of their troops first and foremost. I work to do that in every situation, therefore I know I will make a great officer because my primary job is to look after the NCO's and the direction the battalion is moving towards. I want SHOCK to be the most respected and trustworthy battalion on the server, I want every battalion to see shock and to envy their leadership and look at how they can replicate that. I am also an active duty military personnel in IRL, the responsibilities I shoulder and the training I have been given actively transfer over to Shock. I went through bootcamp, I lead sailors everyday and I work to uphold the Navy's core motto Honor Courage and Commitment. I have deployed overseas, working 96 hours a week, getting very little sleep and eating horrid food. I know how to work with other people and I know how to lead, and more importantly I know what to look for in a leader. My IRL experiences vastly number other people looking for a position like this. (not to talk down on anyone) I just want to remind you that I know how to be the perfect officer. Why do you feel you can be trusted to hold this position? I have already been in charge of the shock battalion many times when I am the highest rank on. I have hundreds of hours on this server and I try really hard to treat everyone with respect. I haven't been as active the last two weeks due to personal problems at home. but those problems are now over and I have the ability to be very active. I have active experience leading people IRL through the Navy so I know how people work, their emotions and how to work with them. My dedication to this server is huge, and to this game. I love everything about shock and I want to see shock fulfil its ultimate potential. If chosen, what can you add to the battalion that other applicants can't? At risk of repeating myself I have lots of experience working with the battalion. I have been told that the only reason why I have been an NCO for so long, not including my hiatus from the server, is because I work really hard to be the best NCO I can be, and I am one of the few trusted NCO's. I understand if you would like me to stay as an NCO and I have no problems staying as one. But I know I can change the battalion for the better, creating a space of respect, cohesion and ultimately fun. I want to remove the lack of communication in some areas of the command. I want to create a unit of cohesion and friendship. I want players to join shock because out of every battalion we are the closest. I want everyone in Shock to know that the can rely on me no matter the rank. I want to create a space built on friendship and fun, which I know I don't have as big an opportunity to do as a NCO. How active can you be? I used to be on 6 days a week for 8 hours a day and quickly got tired of it. I can promise I will be on for at least 4 days a week 2-3 hours a day. Goals in GamingLight (I put this myself I think its important) First off I love the server. I love all the players and the community we have built. My goal is to become senior commander one day and maybe even surpassing that. I know it will take a long time. But I am dedicated to this server and its players. PS. Thank you for reviewing my application, no matter what your decision is, I will continue to be the best I can be in whatever rank that is even if I am a PVT
