  1. Accepted I'll go ahead and issue Zeeptin a strike and Permanent DNP for such behavior. I apologize for the traumatizing experience.

  2. First off, I want to let you all know that I'm going to be a little bit sappy in this post, as in a way SCP-RP has been my "baby" for a very long time now, and it brings a massive smile to my face knowing just how much we've grown. If you paid attention to that last sentence, you'll notice that I said "we've grown". By that I mean that every single one of you that plays on SCP-RP has helped our server grow into one of the top Garry's Mod servers in the world. Just saying that phrase seems surreal to me, "top Garry's Mod servers in the world". It's hard to gain perspective on it, as most of the time it's easy to just see the numbers as numbers, but reminding yourself that there are hundreds of people that play on this server every single day because they choose to spend their free time playing on and enjoying the environment that we have built. By no means was the road short, but as with life, nothing that's worth it ever comes easy. As of the writing of this post. we are sitting at rank #5 on Gametracker, and if you look at Battlemetrics, we're rank #3. It may be hard to quantify this achievement for some of you, but it's an absolutely amazing achievement. In Gaminglight's 7-8 year history, the highest rank a server has ever achieved was rank #7, and not only have we as a community broke that record, but in my book we smashed it. Getting a server to this high of rank is no easy feat. Now here's the part where I'm going to get a bit sappy. I have been working on this server for almost two years at this point, since before it was launched. Even after the lacunh, SCP-RP struggled to pick up traction. At the time there was massive SCP-RP communities ahead of us, that always pulled in larger numbers than we did. There was a point where SCP-RP was basically dead, and got little to no players a day. If you want the proof, check out this post made a few months after the server's release. https://gaminglight.com/forums/topic/37821-scp-rp-growth-thank-you/ My point is that I have watched this server grow from essentially being dead, to being on of the top servers in the world. I can't express enough how proud and how excited I am to share this achievement with the members of this community. There's an incredible amount of work that goes into the server, from a wide group of people, and it would be impossible for me to thank every single one of you that contributes and goes the extra mile to help the server, but just know that you are appreciated, and it is noticed. From the SMT I work with every single day, to our Staff Team, to our Site Administration members, to our High Command members, to our Low Command members, to our NCO's, to our Enlisted. Every one of you that goes the extra mile, or even just plays on the server every single day. We appreciate you. While we are at rank 5, it is not in my nature to settle for anything except for excellence, and to always strive for more. So take this congratulations, take this moment to pat yourselves on the back, take this moment to celebrate, and then hop right back on, as it's time to go to work getting to that top 3 Thank you all for reading, ~ Igneous. 3. Your In-game: Orange Your SteamID: STEAM_0:0:121830468 The admin's name in-game: Rangiatea The admin's steam name (If you know it): [GL] Rangiatea What did the admin do: At first I want to start off by saying that this is in no way a personal vendetta against Rang, and with making this report I understand the weight something like this can hold. With that being said, the points brought up in this report constitute a bigger issue that I believe needs to be addressed, for the good of the SCP-RP Community. The current community consensus of the Senior Management Team is that the leader of the SMT team is not doing very much. My viewpoint is that the rest of the SMT team is picking up the slack. I see the Head Admins/Head of Staff doing things that the manager should be doing, and it has been that way for a little while now. The Community is led to believe this because of the seeming lack of playerbase communication and general updates to the server. He has not put out an announcement or flag up ping since June 19th; Nor has he interacted with very many people in the community besides Branch Administration. He seems unwilling to communicate outside his inner circle, and being a manager it is part of his job to communicate with the playerbase in order to better the server. This is distressing compared to previous management who were known to throw out flag up pings and general announcements almost daily. Due to this, the community's general opinion of SMT has plummeted significantly. With that being said, there is a specific incident that is brought to mind. One morning a new job appeared on the server. This job was named [REDACTED], and was placed in the Staff category. This job was put in by Rangiatea, and to my knowledge nobody had been contacted or informed about this addition. This normally wouldn’t be a big deal, but I’m going to list things about this job that made it an issue. Players on the job were given the best weapons on the server. Granted super-speed (Basically fastest job on the server) Was given the highest level keycard Held no actual authority in roleplay, but actively interfered roleplay scenarios The only players who were allowed to play this job, were players known to be in rangs “inner-circle” This job was immediately met with backlash (for obvious reasons), and due to the backlash the job was stated to be “superadmins only”. Obviously this job should have never been a thing in the first place, and served no other purpose than for Rang and his friends to have a good time. This degraded Rang’s reputation with the community, as this was an obvious and biased use of power. The next point is a bit of a sensitive topic, but this individual is definitely a part of this report. If you are familiar with what is being discussed in this report, you likely know that Luxxy is a part of this as well. Rang is heavily biased towards her, and she has been involved with almost all of the bias situations that I’ve discussed. It’s no secret that Rang and Luxxy are friends. However the issue doesn’t lie with their friendship, it lies with the blatant favoritism and rule breaking they do when they are together. Many players saw the staff report on Luxxy a few weeks ago, and the truth about that report is that Rang allowed her to blatantly break the staff handbook, and because of that, it set an example that other staff were allowed to do the same. Luxxy received no notable punishment for these actions, because as stated by Rookieblue “The admin in question had been modeled by a member of SMT, and allowed to continue staffing”. On a more recent note, Rang has bought Luxxy and himself a custom job. In my personal opinion, the manager of the server should not be buying his recently promoted Senior Admin a custom job, especially considering the previous reports of favoritism and bias. The job resembles the type of actions Rang previously allowed Luxxy to do prior to the staff report, which seems to be a work around. What do you believe should happen to the admin: Due to the nature of this report, I don't know what actions I would suggest. I would just like this to be addressed and corrected. Any extra information: I wish not to cause any mass drama, or deliver hate towards Rang, however I would like these issues to be addressed for the betterment of SCP-RP. Even as a non-staff member I feel empathetic towards the staff team because I do not want them to feel discouraged and or upset by Rangs actions. Please do not start arguments in the thread, leave only +/-’s of your experiences and what this report may have brought to light.

  4. Hey there, So after so much time, work and fun I've had on this server it is time for things to come to an end. Recently I've been getting busy with some other things and I need to take time to focus on them. I'd rather not hold the position I have and be completely inactive so I'm going to be resigning from my position. I have had a lot of good memories on this server with all sorts of people here. From the jumpscares from SCPS and getting constantly kidnapped I will cherish all of those memories. I will also cherish the leadership skills and google document skills I take away from here as they have helped me in other areas outside of gmod and I am thankful to have the opportunity to have been a leader for so many individuals. I am happy to have had this chance to play with all of you. To those who have been my mentors, you have given me great examples to lead by and learn from. To those who I mentored, I hope you carry on the reason, understanding, responsibility and accountability I've left behind for you. Thank you so much for everything guys! I hope all of you have a nice and wonderful time. Keep working on the server and make it the best it can be.

  9. Well, the time has come gents. It is time for me to hang up the hat for the last time. Firstly, I just want to say that I am in no way shape or form leaving with any negative feelings. I absolutely love this amazing community that Zeeptin has built from the ground up. I have been with this community for 8 years, literally since the first server, and I know I will continue to stay involved. But as I've done before, I am going to be taking off for a while again. I know this community will live on and prosper without me, which is why I am okay with leaving for right now. To put it simply, I'm just moving on with my life right now. I am 18, and I am just starting out in life right now. I've been doing so much outside of the computer, and I just haven't had a lot of time lately to sit down and play video games, and I am completely okay with that. With everything I am doing in life, there are going to be things I will not have time for, and that is fine with me. I am starting a new chapter in my life starting May 3rd, and so I need to make a lot of BIG changes in order to be ready for this new chapter that lies ahead, and so that is why I am stepping away from the Gaminglight Community right now. Throughout my time with this community, I have quite literally grown alongside it. I started playing GMOD and the Gaminglight Servers when I was 10, and so I have grown a lot, and learned a lot of different things from playing on here, a lot of which will carry on with me into the real world, so I will never forget where my roots came from. From SchoolRP, to MethRP, to PoliceRP, and finally SCP-RP, I just want to say thank you to each and every one of the players that I have encountered while playing on those servers, you guys are the reason why I stuck around, and continued to play for the years on end. After I had stepped away from MethRP, I can easily say that there were so many times where I reminisced on old memories from that server, and so I know for a fact I will dwell on all the great memories I made on all the newer servers. I am not going to be writing out thank-you letters to any single individual, because there are too many people that I'd have to name, and I don't want to accidentally leave out any one individual, so I am going to be writing something for anybody that is reading this: Thank you. Thank you for making my experiences in the Gaminglight Community so wonderful, and for helping me to grow as a person. There are times where my actions and attitude lead me down some not-so-great places, but I learned from those experiences, and I have since been headed down an even better path then when I first joined, so thank you. To everyone over on SCP-RP, Thank you once again. Thank you for allowing me into the community, and allowing me to work up the ranks, and be where I am at now. When I first joined, I had no idea I would ever have been given the chance to become High Command, let alone a Branch Commander. To all of my E-11 boys, I know this is going to hurt to see me leave, but just know that I am comfortable leaving the Branch where it is at. I set out and made a promise to an individual that I would one day become the E-11 Commander 6 months back, and I kept my promise indeed. I also made a promise that I would leave E-11 better then when I had first joined, and I also did just that. You guys are such an amazing Branch, and I am so glad to see that it is at where it's at now, as opposed to the drought that it was in many months back, way before I got brought up into High Command. I am not leaving just yet, I will continue to stick around for the next 48 hours, but once the MTF Meeting on May 2nd concludes, I will most likely be leaving that night. Of course I will still hop on every now and then to say hello, but that might be a rare occurence. To all the PoliceRP fellows, Thank you for allowing me to become Low Command in PD, and entrusting me with helping to lead the lower ranked Officers on the Streets, and putting me on the path to come back to Gaminglight. You guys helped pave the road for me again, and I will forever be indebted to you guys. To all the ImperialRP guys, You guys are such talented individuals as well, from the Game Masters, to the ImperialRP High Command, you guys have so much talent with how you all run everything, and I am so impressed with how you guys are constantly entertained, even when nothing is going on. I know on SCP-RP there is always something to do, but you guys manage to take a situation where nothing is going on, and turn it into such a good time. Thank you to all the Inferno boys for letting me into the Branch, even though I was just brought in by SMT on a fluke, I am really glad that it happened. And so as I am concluding this farewell speech, I just want everyone that has read this far to know one thing. Each and every one of you that play in this community are so special, and you guys are what makes this community so great. So keep rocking on, and always remember to try to make a note in your head to try to leave this community better then when you first joined. Once again, thank you all for giving me a game to call home for the past 8 years. - Saint

  10. +Support You say that certain ranks don't get this privileges yet Emoo was given access to Gitlab for these updates. I was extremely excited and motivated to work alongside you, however, I was turned away at almost every point. My opinions as a HoS didn't matter to you at all. I was your only SMT member and I tried my best to assist you, but due to me not getting any of these privilege's that other HoS had, I couldn't do anything to help with updates. I was the HGM (Event Team Lead) and JMT of the time when I suggested a multitude of updates that would better assist event quality. The updates would include - New map rotation. - Different tools. All of which you said would be in soon, and yet even after I retired from being HoS they have not been implemented into the server. On the note of how slow updates are implemented, your response time was horrendous. I do understand timezone differences, however, when there is something that is important, and I don't get a response, it is hard to do my job as the HoS, especially with no other SMT. There is always excuses, you say you don't have management so you can't do something but you're not attempting to fix this situation. Almost everything that requires a swift response to, you delay, and you delay it heavily. Just because the shock documents were replaced due to copies made by high command does not mean that there should be public documents still tied to GL with mein kampf translated. High command members pinged you on several occasions in attempt to revert these documents that STILL haven't been fixed. In terms of the new SMT being chosen, I was never consulted with despite being the HoS, I would've liked if my opinion was considered in the slightest. "This isn't really Hotshot fault, whenever someone is moved up to SMT it is talked between almost all of the SMT team and Zeeptin." - Emoo There is a huge issue within management and it must be rectified before the hit in both management, RP, and player count continues. If you are going to be + or - supporting this topic, please read ALL of the points that are made. Don't take one point that you disagree on and disregard the entirety of the report because of it. There have been many faults that have been shown here, many that are inexcusable. For those of you who are viewing this topic and yet are too scared to comment on it, don't be. You will not be punished in any way for speaking your mind and how you feel.

  11. I'm going to leave my two cents on here, as I have watched this report get discredited by invalid points, and at this point I feel it necessary to speak up. I've debated heavily with myself whether or not I was going to comment on this report, but given the circumstances and my own personal ethical and moral beliefs, I have decided to share my opinions on the matter. I'm first going to ask that for any of you that read this comment, to take a second to actually think about what this report means. As far as I can tell, This report is not a personal attack against hotshot nor is it a witch hunt or a scheme to get back at him. To the best of my ability I can interpret this report as a genuine report where the concerned party is worried about the future of ImperialRP. I've read the entirety of this report, multiple times, and read every comment on this post, and I myself (obviously) have more experience than anybody else on this matter. With that being said, I fully agree with the report, and I will explain why. For the sake of the length of this reply, I'm not going to comment on everything, just the things that I find to be the most important. Regarding the Situation with Spectre: I'm not familiar with the reserves part of this complaint, but what I am familiar with is the fact that Spectre was outed as an alt account of a member with 40 warnings, and only received a temporary staff restriction as a punishment. Many many many different SMT members that I have asked about this situation stated that Spectre should have been blacklisted for that. Its been our policy for years that you simply cannot do that, and we've banned countless others for doing the same thing. Why should Spectres situation be any different? I firmly believe that Hotshots decision to keep Spectre and minimally punish him was a direct result of bias, and should have not happened. Regarding the situation with Chico: I read what Hotshot stated about this "Certain ranks don't get access", and that is simply just not true. Hotshot could have given Chico the permission to help him, he just didn't. I have seen this happen countless times where Hotshot has refused help from people who wanted to do more, and for someone who claims to not have any time, he sure does turn down help. I firmly believe that part of the reason there is/was a lack of SMT on ImperialRP is because of this. Regarding Hotshot Promoting River: Even if River was doing his job was JMT, I firmly believe that promotion should have never happened. While sometimes people do "slip" through the cracks, there is absolutely no excuse for that in my eyes. It was so blatantly obvious that river was doing sketchy shit, I myself found out about it in literally minutes. River was not properly vetted for that promotion, and I feel that had Hotshot put in a little more time and asked for others opinions, it wouldn't have happened. Regarding the lack of content/updates: I more than anybody in this community can understand how hard it may be to get out updates sometimes, as I managed a server alone for over 2 years. However, that is not an acceptable excuse in this scenario. The only acceptable excuse that I could accept is Zeus gaming, but for the months that followed after Zeus gaming? That is unacceptable in my opinion. From what I am told hotshot had opportunities to ask for help, but refused them. Not only that, but especially with something as simple as branch updates and job code. I understand Hotshot stated that it was low priority, but the question I ask then is what was high priority at that time? The report states that basically no updates were done for over 2 months, so if that wasn't high priority then what was? Also regarding the lack of a map additions/removals, Hotshot stated that the reporter has no knowledge of the progress on that. I find that frankly to be straight up BS. If there are broken maps on the server, they should be removed as soon as possible, especially if they break the server beyond repair until restart. Not only that, but the lack of map additions as well? How does that have anything to do with the reporter not being able to see the progress of those tasks. Its common knowledge what maps are/aren't on the server, and they havent been updated in months, so that doesnt make sense. Regarding Hotshots responsibilities in Real Life: This is by far the most important rebuttal that Hotshot made, and that others are making in his defense. Nobody in this entire community will fault Hotshot for having a life, having bills to pay, and having shit to take care of. Every single one of us does. That isn't the important part. If Hotshot does not have the time to handle his responsibilities here, then I pose the important question, why would he not resign? If you all are not aware, there was a time in my life where I was in a similar position as Hotshot. I was mostly unavailable, unable to perform updates and duties, and I felt like absolute shit about it. I felt like I was letting my server down, and instead of sticking around for months and months being unavailable, I resigned. That is the mature thing to do. I took an LOA, and when I came back I still found myself unable to perform, and therefore I took it upon myself to leave for the betterment of the server. At this point, this is the thing that bothers me the most. I find it INCREDIBLY disrespectful how Hotshot has continued to let the server go astray while being majorly unavailable to do his tasks. I will never fault somebody for what they have to do in real life. But if Hotshot knows, (and has known for months), that he cannot perform his tasks, he should not still be here. He has a responsibility to the server, and to this community, and if he can no longer perform it due to in real life responsibilities, then this should not be dragged out any longer. Side note, in no way should Hotshot have responded to this report, as I find that incredibly immature and borderline predatory. Thank you for reading, ~Igneous.

  12. After reviewing the incident, it is quite clear that multiple extremely concerning things took place in regards to how this specific sit was handled. I want it to be made extremely clear that this conduct displayed by the two staff members is NOT tolerated, and is NOT condoned by any measure. Staff members are supposed to treat the players they encounter with respect, and it is quite clear that in this case they fell quite, quite far from that expectation. Additionally, it should be noted that the reporting player elected to wait this long before coming forward with this incident. Had this incident been made public when it occurred, I can say for a certainty that Luxxy would not have been advanced to the rank of Senior Admin, nor would she have still be a staff member in the first place. I highly, highly encourage those of you that find evidence of staff misconduct to come forward with it right away so staff members can be held accountable. In regards to the video itself, the most obvious violation of the staff handbook is clear: 1) Staff members represent the Gaminglight Community at all time, whether you’re on or off duty. As such, staff members should be respectful to other players and staff members at all times. As such, both Senior Admin Luxxy and Senior Admin Noah Lee have both been removed from the staff team effective immediately. Luxxy has received a community blacklist due to additional comments that she made in response to this report, as well as other conduct. I want to extend a formal apology to Glitch who was directly affected by this incident. While RDM isn't acceptable, that did not warrant being berated to this extent. To prevent similar incidents of this from occurring, as well as help identify problematic staff members earlier in their careers, we're implementing a variety of changes to the staff team and how it's managed. These include increasing the frequencies of audits conducted by Senior Admins and JMT personnel, increased documentation of misconduct by staff members to ensure it's better tracked, a change to how the promotion process for Admins and Senior Admins are advanced, among other steps. It is my hope that as a server we can move past these incidents, and as a staff team we can continue to provide the excellent service we've previously provided.

  13. Global Guidelines on Joining Departments (Applies to all government officials & branches) Subject to be changed by any Head(s) You cannot apply for a department if (A) applying for more than one tactical department at once, (B) attempting to join another tactical department within a month of being accepted into your current department, or (C) applying to a department within 5 days of leaving the previous one. (A) You can not apply for more than 1 tactical department at once. Failing this will result in punishment by the Head(s) decision of the department. (B) Giving your resignation notice within a month of being in a department will result in a 6-month blacklist exclusively to that department. Can be extended or shortened by the Head(s). (C) Applying for a department within 5 days from the end of your resignation notice will result in punishment given by the Head(s) of that department. This is made to prevent mass department hopping. Which has been a current issue. This is subject to change in the future. This overrides all other SOPs for joining departments for all branches. This must be followed by all government officials and all branches. Approved by Gaminglight PoliceRP SMT & Dep. Head(s)

  15. And thus this is the end for me, I have spent nearly the past year on the server and I have had a lot of fun and met alot of interesting people however with things picking back up I believe it is time that I have to go. This is not an easy decision by any regards but I cannot continue to uphold my current roles on the server and feel as if I am wasting the slots that could go to more dedicated people. Of course this is not the last of me on GL, You will still see me on the server but I will not be as active or holding my current ranks. R&D When I had originally played the only CI was military. As I loved to RP I was happy to see when I returned that there was an RP CI Branch. At the time it was barely a branch however I am happy I was there to see it built up with the work done by Neo it turned into a full branch and I was happy to be along for the ride and eventually actually run the place. Continue to stay strong RnD and good luck ET I was originally pulled to ET because of Travar. Seeing him doing events and cool shit made me wanna do those and after applying I worked to keep up interesting events. I never would've guessed that I would've made it to ETL but I am happy I did and I am happy that I got to meet all the people and enjoy it as I did. You guys will continue to do well under the next ETL. Do Quota People Simply put. I would've not spent as long as I did on the server were it not for all the wonderful people I met along the way. Many of those I would be happy to call friend and here is were I am going to mention some of them. If you didn't get on the list it doesn't mean you meant nothing but rather I forgot Mentions Igneous: While I never spent a large amount of time with you as long as I have been on the server you have ran it. 16. First of all, why are you seeking validations from strangers online. If you are suffering from what you are saying, go see a therapist. We are not dissing anyone. From what I can see here, we are making criticism towards the involved parties. There's a difference between critiscm and a diss. - I haven't been on the server for around 15 days as well but although the server is in a good spot. If this isn't addressed, I can see how the other staff member may potentially be frustrated with this. Thank you for the post.

  18. After watching 20 seconds of those videos this morning, I can 100% agree with Rookieblue's actions that he took against Luxxy. No one on our staff team should be acting like that towards a player. We will also be looking inside to ourselves to see how Luxxy got to that position with that attitude and how we can prevent that in the future.

  20. I want to be insanely transparent. Here at Gaminglight, we encourage constructive criticism. Our community was built off of this principle, and we continue to encourage this to further this community and make it better for everyone every day. However, we do not encourage players being toxic to our other players and specifically staff members. Our staff members take TONS of time out of their days to help our community be as great as it is. They do not deserve to be trashed behind their backs and talked about negatively. Sure, nobody gets along 100%, and we understand that. There is a HUGE difference between constructive criticism and being toxic. I would like to ask everyone politely to please be respectful to others. If you are going to be toxic, we do not want you playing on our servers.

  21. This is going to be a long post so bare with me for the time being. GL has gone almost pay to win and is catering almost exclusively to combat rather than proper RP. The admins and Zeeptin are actively censoring those who speak up against them making money. This all began yesterday when Ash was banned from the discord for having an opinion about the current state of the donations for GL. Ash was promptly told that he/she had an uneducated opinion and was banned when they spoke against the donation incentives. Zeeptin personally stepped in and I was able to share some messages to him in General on the discord. These messages were dismissed and brushed off and Zeeptin requested I make a forum post about them. Well, Here I am. Gaminglight SCP-RP has shifted form a RP based server to one that revolves around combat. Donation incentives over the past years have revolved around the following set of steps. Number 1, a new weapon is added to the game that is either overpriced or overpowered (Example, any of the legendary items). Number 2, that weapon causes havok on the server and is buffed shortly after release. The cycle then repeats indefinitely. The class D are given priority on the server and are handed ample opportunities to disrupt roleplay for those who wish to actually spend their time in a branch. Meanwhile, branches like Research and Medical suffer to the point where they are actively suppressed and forced to hide in bunks the whole day due to the near constant riots and unsettling in D Block. Can anyone recall a time on this server in recent memory where it was code blue and research, medical, and other branches could actually get RP done without getting murked by class D? I cant. Class D are given weapon after weapon to use against security. Now I know what you may be thinking, "The weapons are not JUST for class D. Anyone can buy them" and this is true, but from what I have seen, a majority of weapons bought on GL are used in class D riots. Why is combat prioritized over actual RP? Why are new weapons rolled out month after month and SCP's barley added. Why are Class D encouraged to not join a branch and keep playing as class D? It's simply, Class D make GL money. The server caters towards the random person who buy's Gmod, doesn't know what an SCP is, joins the server, doesn't know how to change a job and stays as class D, gets killed so they buy a weapon or two and they play for a month until they get bored and leave or eventually get banned for being racist. That is who this server caters to. Not the people who put effort into the server and spend hours of their time trying to make it better for others. This server has turned into team deathmatch with a sprinkling of SCP's on the side. Instead of putting effort into the models and fixing the horrible lag by mending the map, it's easier to put a weapon in the store that does too much damage, charge way to much for it so people think it does more, and sell it to class D. It's lazy. When is the last time a new model was added to the server that wasn't just ripped off from another game? For Christ sake we have a doofenschmertz model. Is it that hard to just come up with a dude in a science outfit? This is ignoring the outrageous prices for a custom clan/model. Or the Fortnite dances. Every weapon added makes the server feel like just another combat server and pushes the very ideals of the RP side away, making the server feel empty and hollow for those looking to RP. I can hear the complaining now. "Tomato, you have no idea how to run a server! You don't know how much it costs to run a GMOD server in 2022. We shouldn't talk about money open like this!". Well, why not? Why is money on the server such a taboo topic? Why proudly flash on the homepage of the forums that someone donated if it's such an issue? I have been a loyal player on this server for 3 years. I have put over 2600 hours of my life into this server. I feel like i should have some idea where the money is going to other than the pockets of the owners. Even if that is not the case, I feel like all that donation money should have some reflection on the server. But it doesn't does it. The server is still unoptimized. There are so many useless props on the server that serve no purpose. I cant go from LCZ to HCZ without getting massive lag spikes. God forbid the server count get above 100 players because then the lag is unbearable. How is that acceptable in 2022? If this was 2008 then yea I could see that maybe it would be hard to run a GMOD server. All that donation money coming in and the server runs like its being powered by a hamster on a wheel. There is a reason we make jokes about that. It's because its true. And the truth will get me banned. By the time you are reading this I will probably be banned for having an opinion. Keep in mind, I have not insulted anyone or called anyone anything derogatory. I have not threatened anyone or done anything to get banned, but I probably will be. This server and it's owners do not like those who speak up against their ways. Frankly that is not only insulting but also scummy. Unfortunately, I have to bring up the money trail in order to get any attention. It's not like we can just reach out to Zeeptin on the discord (why even be in the discord if you are not going to interact with anyone on the server). If I am banned, it just shows that we are not allowed to have an opinion on this server at all. As a business owner and a public figure, you should be able to stand up to criticism and not throw down the ban hammer the second an opinion is made that you do not like. This is the only part of this post where I am directly referencing someone. Zeeptin, let people speak their minds without fear of being removed. This is to say, as long as they are actively trying to better the server. If they are just walking around calling the admins the R word then yea, ban them. But if they are concerned about the state of the server and worried about the direction it is heading, then hear them out. Even if nothing is done at all, just let them speak their mind. Here are some steps that can be done to fix the server. 1. Fix the lag. I don't care how it's done just fix it. Get better computers to run it. Hire people to optimize the map. Get rid of useless props. Something needs to be done. 2. Remove useless SCP's and add more interesting ones. I will be happy (as I'm sure others will) to suggest fun and new SCP's to include on the server. 3. Go out of your way to encourage Class D to join a branch. Make it as easy as possible to join a branch from the menus. Advertise it in big bold letters on walls. Something. 4. Don't rush it. Take your time and do this properly. Don't just rush out a new SCP in a week and hope that keeps us quiet. To anyone who has an opinion on this and wants to speak up, do so in the comments here. Don't target people or call names, just voice honest criticism about the server and suggest what can be done to make it better. I want this server to thrive. I want to see 128/128 players every day. However, if the server keeps heading in this direction, it's better off to just remove everything but gensec and class D and let them duke it out until everyone gets bored and leaves forever. Also, this is a totally unacceptable response to someone on the discord (see attached image). -Tomato

  23. Data File, Received. Loading Data… Data Encrypted Decrypting Data… File Decryption:Successful. File Name: Forged from Nothing It pains me to type this, as I've feared having to for some time. This server has caused me extreme distress, hardship, and to put bluntly, the responsibility has been a pain in my ass. Though, it has also been character building. I met, and came to become great friends with many. Some, I became a foe to. Not perhaps what I had wished, but controlling the comprehension of others is not something I am capable of. I knew many, and I lost many more. I learned of what responsibility, relationships mean in my time here. If I could remain, I would. I will not deny I do desire to. But doing so would mean throwing away what I have built up in reality. I have worked tirelessly to build myself a future, from where I once was in a terrible spot, where it looked like I would never even make it out of Highschool, I have dug myself out of that, and now am looking at a life where I can specifically strive for relationships, and happiness. I hope my successor does good work for you all. I'm not going to say I plan to return. Because I still have a lot of work to do, and refuse to distract myself from that. Working for several certifications, licenses, and an entire path in nursing is a long, and stressful process. And trying to balance that with being in-game is a pain is the ass. And quite honestly, I don't think I can wait another few months of doing the same thing on repeat, day after day. Just to do the same thing the next day. I wish the best for all of you. While yes, this may be “just a game” things are still built here. I have grown in discipline, and as a person throughout my time here. And I want you guys to understand that. You all played a part in who I am, and who I will become. I am a much prouder, and happier person than I was coming into GamingLight SCP-RP. You all do this. You all shape the positive futures in people’s lives. Thank you for that. I hope that you can continue to do it in the future. If my successor reads this, please, hear what I am saying; CI R&D was my biggest accomplishment. People always said it would never be it's own Branch. It did. People said it would never get it's own reputation. It did. If you be patient, and have confidence in what you are doing. Then you can achieve it all. When hope looks lost, and everything feels as if it’s going to shit. Don’t give in. People will tell you it’s over. That its time to quit. They are wrong. They will leave, resign, avoid, and pretend, but if you choose to face whatever obstacle lays in your path, and you run right through it, take on all the negative shit. You can find a resolve, and prove them wrong. Bringing your branch, and yourself respect, and power. Never give in, stay strong, and never stand down when things look bad. ~ Honorable Mentions ~ Here, I list the people I have grown close to in my time here. Half of them likely will not see this. But I wish them the best regardless. I hope you all continue to provide an excellent community as we have for some time now. May that never fall. If I forget anyone, I deeply apologize. Thank you so much for the parts you played! O5 Council: Beanz - You always were an excellent person to speak to. Easily available, and always got on top of things in an instant. So glad I got to know you! Matricies - Quiet, but capable. Loved seeing you around. You did an excellent job getting to where you were! Skela - Oh dear god. Coconut Mall still leaves a massive hole in my heart. But you played a huge part as to where I am. The original General of Chaos to me. You had some issues along the way, but fuck you made up for it. Glad to see how far you have come! Hoovy - Absolute Hothead vast majority of the time. But it wasn’t something I disliked. Matter a fact, I respected the fact you never held a punch. Never any regard for how the person would take it. You are always about productivity when on-duty. Never change! Dogz - By the time I had met you, you had already chosen to resign. But you still came in-game, and not only that, you always choose to come to CI base to hang out with us. Not something we get enough of with O5! So I am always glad to have our members be able to talk to you! Orange - A great leader, and a terrifying Rocket League Player. Continue as you have! Site Admin: Phill - You were always very stern, but were good to talk to and funny when that side managed to come out. Hope you continue to do this! Matto - Always like a double ended coin. You would always jump on both sides and never pick which side you were on. Though, gone. I hope you can find happiness in your new time! Sparkle - Always made Utility Channels fun to be in. But I hope you the best future regardless! Keep growing Utility as you have! Weiss - Not going to lie, I never got to know you as much as I would have liked to! You never spoke all that much. I hope at some point you might open up and I can understand you a bit better! Starstep - Quiet, but always willing to hear out what others have to say. Dang - Outstanding member within HCMD. Twice mind you. You are the reason I worked to get so far. You were my inspiration, and my drive as to why I challenged myself to work up the ranks. Always trying to encourage others to follow. Thank you so much for that, and I hope that you continue to do what you have, and have another sad sap follow you bruv Enuz - You always kept the channel alive. You never failed to get a good laugh out if everyone, or find someone else to insult every few minutes. Maybe grow a couple of inches and I’ll let the insults sink in. You did outstanding things for CI, and it was great to work on CI alongside you. I'm hoping you keep up how things have been as General, I beg that you make sure neither Branch ever befalls onto another. CI is CI when it is whole. 2 branches, or not. CI is a system. Chaos Insurgency: Apple - Appl- Wait. No you are the Canadian one. Great member of R&D HCMD command. I am certain you’ll do excellent things if you follow the path you’re on! Looked over previous CI blacklists once, and saw your name. I said to myself, thats not the Vinder I know. Never will I count that againt him. You’ve done so great to get as far as you did. Never give up. Keep R&D where it's going. Work with Apple, you guys will pull off more as a team Fizzy - Great member of CI. Been around a long time, and even in the hardest times, he pushed through to the end. You never gave in. And I have overwhelming respect for that. Cogs - Well I can’t lie. Originally, cleaning up the mess you had left when obtaining HCMD was a bit of a pain in the ass. But you definitely were a very conversational person when you wanted to be. Hope you are, and continue to do well. Hope - Weeb? Furry? Both? I don’t know, or care. All I know is the excellent things you continually brought to CI, right up to the very end. I hope you find something great for you after resigning, as you deserve it. Donwood - My trainer who took pity on me when I was one point off on my tests. For a whole month I though I had passed. You acted as an inspiration, and drive to have me flag up every single day for the past god knows how many months. Stay well dude. Message me at any time. Bagel - Ha! Offbrant loaf! Great guy in CI. Forgetful as fuck sometimes, but we still love you dude. Keep it up. Protege - “Dear mother of god put that thing away!” M8VP - Great guy in a VC. Always seems to pop up out of nowhere. But never afraid to toss in his own opinion Arruso - Wish I could have gotten to know more. Hope you’re doing well! Zero - A great friend to me in CI. Constantly seeking, betterment, but very caring of its members as well. And how the community was affecting them. Always very sensitive to such things. Something I to this day fail to comprehend. Comrade - Great member of CI, which somehow balanced way to many IRL things with it. Hope you continue to do as well as you have! I hope to see great things! 24. I have been thinking about this ever since I was in E-11 for making a global resignation. Now that CI is in a better state than ever, I think this is my time to leave! I am done with GMOD and Gaminglight for a while. I have been burnt out after a year and I have wanted to move on for the longest time now. Maybe, I'll come back in half of year or so, but I'll be around TS occasionally. I'll also be around forums. Imma spend these time that I have now to Apex, Valorant and Genshin with friends. Who knew that having a friend that is clingy to you and a lot of other friends that you play FPS with you are fun yet time consuming! Gamma enuz: Ngl, your skill is.............radiant in val. Other than that, a good CMDR , keep pushing and get general when Coltable ranks up! Skela: Worst Valorant player I know. Good 05 member, but maybe stop changing your name as much like SMT said. FizzySoda: "June 2nd, 2020 moment" - CPL Fizzy was "banned" Arussso: Childe main, but doesn't play him as much. People thinks that you are inactive in general but behind the scene, you do a lot for CI. Neo: Furry HCMD man that did a lot for CI. I respect you. Dang: bruv, also did a lot for CI, I respect you. And finally, the people who got me into this community. Perkele: Perkele, Perkle or whatever you go by. We literally do everything together, it's sad that you left every discord. Jim McDango: The person who trained me in research when I first joined. Not only you are my trainer, but you are also why I kept playing research in general. Creamey: SR Creamey, one of the best memories that I have. Crabbo/Zeus: Even though they went bye-bye, we had our moments. "そろそろ Say Goodbye, "The End" I'm not sorry, but I wanna see you Peace~! If you're going to be de-motivated to play because of me, because I know some people are going to be influenced by this. Don't leave, that's a stupid reason to leave.

  26. There have been recent events between these two branches has caused the relations between the two to crumble. This event, has caused so many problems for both sides, CI's reputation has fallen back into the zone of toxicity, security trust in CI has been broken beyond repair. Security is seen as childish by CI, and CI have dished out punishments towards gensec command just to spite them. Both sides have been immature to an extent and there is a river of toxicity between the two. With this post, i just want both sides to get a message from one another. I say this as an Ex-Sergeant major in gensec, and as the Assistant Head of Research in CI. I'm sorry this is kind of relationship you guys have, where toxicity has become the norm. I mean for this post to be a bridge between that river, i want our sides to at least have a decent relationship that can have healthy communication and most importantly, compromise. I've spoken to multiple people about the most recent situation, even those who weren't involved, and after that, the only thing that can calm both sides down, is compromise. With compromise comes understanding on both sides, an understanding that i wish to archive so that the toxicity may stop, even for a little while. I honestly hate seeing situations like this, where both sides despise each other, down to the personnel level, and i just hope to achieve some type of understanding with this post.

Be patient and wait for people to voice their opinion on your application. If your application is denied you are required to wait 7 days before reapplying. If you are accepted then you have 72hrs to receive your rank by receiving on board training from any Senior Admin or above. Failure to do so will result in your application being denied. Staff Application Format What is your in-game name?: What is your steam name?: What is your steam ID?: What is your discord username (Ex: Rookieblue#2667): Do you have any other experience with staffing?: (If yes, explain) What date did you start playing on the community? (roughly) What date did you make your forums account? How many warnings do you have on all GL servers? What is your donor rank? (User, Silver, Gold, etc) Are you a staff member in another community? Have you read the staff handbook? Timezone: What rank are you applying for? Why do you believe that you deserve the rank? (150 Word Minimum) Scenario questions: Select any two of the following four questions to answer for this section. Please note, in the scenario questions we are not expecting perfect answers. We are assessing your critical thinking skills, your ability to use the staff handbook, and come to reasonable conclusions. Q1: A player is deliberately blocking other players' view during critical moments in the game, such as during raids or important PvP encounters. They argue that it's a valid strategy and part of the game. How would you handle this disruptive behavior? Q2: A player repeatedly uses derogatory language in the server chat, targeting another player based on race. When warned, they argue that it's just "banter" and continue the behavior. What steps would you take to address this issue? Q3: You receive reports from multiple players that a staff member is abusing their powers by unfairly favoring their friends in-game, providing them with items and advantages not available to others. How would you approach this situation, considering the staff member denies any wrongdoing and claims they are simply helping out friends within the rules? Q4: A group of players are engaged in constant arguments and conflicts, disrupting the server's atmosphere. They are not breaking any specific rules, but their behavior is affecting others' enjoyment. How would you approach this scenario to restore peace and maintain a positive environment for all players?

  30. Forum Diplomat Handbook Welcome to the Forum Diplomat Team! Forum Diplomats are staff members of the community that have been entrusted with monitoring and maintaining a safe and friendly community space on the Forums. The main responsibilities of Forum Diplomats are defusing arguments, removing harmful/argumentative content, and enforcing our Forums Guidelines. What we expect of you As you could guess, one of our main expectations of our diplomats is that they are very well versed in our Forums Guidelines. It is expected that you maintain a friendly attitude when posting or commenting on the forums. Do not forget that you are acting as a role model for how someone should behave on the forums! You should not be getting into petty squabbles or arguments with other players. Next, it is expected that you frequent the forums on a day to day basis. At the very least you should be browsing the forums once per day. But remember, being a diplomat is not just about watching what happens on the forums, it is important that you are proactive and comment on posts to interact with the community! It is also expected that you never exhibit any form of bias when using your diplomat tools or dealing with reports. In any case of potential bias (ex: a situation involving a friend of yours, someone reporting your content, moderating comments on your own posts) you are expected to step back and let a different diplomat handle it. Lastly, you are expected to only use your moderation tools only when required. Abuse of said tools will not be tolerated. Violation of any of these expectations will result in disciplinary action ranging from a verbal warning up to a removal from the Forum Diplomat team. Senior Diplomats Senior Diplomats are seasoned members of the diplomat team. Senior Diplomats are responsible for watching over the diplomats on their respective servers, distributing forums warnings, and training of new diplomats. Senior Diplomats may Content Moderate or Suspend users from posting for up to a month. Anything above a month needs to be run by the Head Diplomat. Senior Diplomats may not suspend users from accessing the forums without permission from the Head Diplomat Reported Content Upon receiving a report of misconduct on the forums via the report feature of the forums, a forum diplomat should first claim the case by marking the report as "Under Review". The Diplomat will then investigate the reported content to determine if any forum rules have been broken. Upon determining that a forum rule has been broken, Diplomats will take the following steps if appropriate: 1) Hide the offending post(s). 2) Determine if a forum warning is appropriate. If so, inform a Senior Diplomat or the Head Diplomat who will then issue a warning if appropriate. 3) If a situation is urgent and requires it be addressed immediately and the Head Diplomat is unavailable, inform a SMT member via Discord or TeamSpeak. 4) Log any actions in the #topic-punishments channel in the Staff Discord. Once the above steps have been completed as appropriate, the Diplomat will then enter a comment describing what actions have been taken, including posts being hidden, if a verbal warning is provided, etc. The Diplomat will then mark the case as closed and inform the reporting party the results of the investigation. Forums Diplomat Messages Sometimes when a post is getting heated, it is necessary to give a verbal warning to everyone participating in the post. This is referred to as a "Forums Diplomat Message." The purpose of the message is to let people participating in the post know that any further arguing/rule infractions will be punished. This is an example of the rough structure that a Forums Diplomat Message should have. If you have any questions about how to make one or what to say, please reach out to your Senior Diplomat. Community Blacklist Appeals Players that receive a blacklist from the Gaminglight community are permanently banned from all Gaminglight servers due to their level of misconduct. These bans are not appealable, and Forum Diplomats are expected to assist SMT personnel by denying blacklist appeals. This does not apply to permanent bans that are put in place by a single server, nor permanent bans that are in place over multiple servers unless the ban reason specifically says Community Blacklist. This also does not apply to warning threshold bans. Content Moderated Users Occasionally a player will be placed under content moderation, meaning that any posts they make must be approved by a Forum Diplomat or SMT member before being viewable publicly. When deciding whether a post should be approved, please ensure that it does not break any forum rules and isn't spam. If the post is deemed acceptable, you may approve it, which allows it to be publicly viewable. If the post is deemed unacceptable, please inform a senior diplomat or the Head Forum Diplomat to take appropriate action. Moderation Tools Forum Diplomats are authorized to utilize the Hide, Lock and Move functions. Hide - Hiding a post conceals it from being seen from regular users browsing the forums. Forum posts may only be hidden for violating a forum rule. The Diplomat hiding a post is required to include a reason the post is being hidden. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action. Lock - The Lock function prevents users from posting on a specific topic. The lock function may be used on RP/Community applications that have been processed or in situations where a specific topic is resulting in significant arguments. Move - Moving a post moves it from one location on the forums to another. Forum Diplomats are authorized to move posts that are obviously in the incorrect location (i.e. SCP Report in ImperialRP Section) or on behalf of an RP Department Command member that requests topics to be moved. Anytime threads are hidden, locked, or moved such as handling RP applications, LOAs, or other standard affairs, it should be logged in the #topic-punishments channel in the staff discord. If it is a serious offense and you believe a forums warning is warranted, please contact a Senior Diplomat or the Head Diplomat. Disciplinary Actions If you fail to meet the expectations of being a Forums Diplomat, the following disciplinary measures may be taken. Verbal Warning - A verbal warning is an informal warning that the Diplomat's conduct did not adhere to the Diplomat Handbook. Strike - A Strike is a formal warning that the Diplomat's conduct did not adhere to the Diplomat Handbook. Removal - A Diplomat can be removed from the Diplomat team based on the seriousness of the misconduct, lack of activity, or continued misconduct. Removed Diplomats are eligible to reapply at the discretion of the Head Diplomat. Questions or Concerns? If you have any questions or concerns regarding the Forum Diplomat Handbook, please see a Senior Diplomat or the current Head Diplomat Updated 6/14/2023

  31. You messaged me once... the day of me getting Manager. I'm having a hard time piecing together how I just "don't respond" when you have yet to send me another message since then, in the time I've been Manager.

  33. I applaud you because I feel like you did an excellent job of portraying the concerns of this post. We will discuss some of the ideas mentioned in the post. I would also highly suggest everyone to learn from this and when suggesting changes and concerns to utilize the forums and suggestions specifically. Complaints in discords, TS, and in-game are always going to go unheard because primarily those avenues aren't meant for that and the messages there often go unseen and lost. But look now that you guys are actually formulating a full post we can discuss it with SMT and come up with an actual game plan instead of trying to piece together 10 different half thoughts from discord messages or guessing what everyone feels.

  34. Boom! Life comes at you fast, doesn't it? One minute, I'm on Site-05 messin' around with SCPs and D-Class. The next, I'm on Site-50, messin' around with weapons of mass destruction and unstable nuclear component. Damn, where did that time go? I remember being just a humble Junior Researcher in 2020, didn't know anything about SCP lore or how the server worked, and I was completely lost. Had it not been for the friendly faces and even friendlier teachers, I probably wouldn't have stayed. Crazy to think that was now two years ago. I was shocked at how amazing this place is, and there is truly no other place like it. Alas, time catches up with us all, and it is now my time to say that goodbye. Cringe Mention List; Ethics Committee / O5 Council Coltable- Funny Irish guy, always enjoy your company! Igneous- Always the most chill dude in the room, fun to be around. Hoovy- Has the funniest jokes, absolutely Legendary pirate of the Sea of Thieves! Chief- Furry, nothing more, nothing less. Jayden- Haven't known you too long, let alone talked to you much, but you seem like an awesome guy. Congrats on Head of Staff, I know you'll do amazingly. -Site Administration- Sparkle- Just an awesome guy, really cares about every branch equally. Also a pony. Starstep- What an amazing fellow, has made it farther than me in a shorter time, truly deserving of his position. Sixx- Congratulations on DoRS! You really deserve it, take care of research for me! oh and security too I guess Twix- Literal g a m e r, do not let this man around any danny games. -HCMD- Mind- Same as Chief, but simply better. Moonrose- A truly wonderful person, Research will prosper in your hands. I am certain of it! Jackweeb1112- hahahahahahahaha cringe. (inactive) -Honorable Mention- Land1214- A friend from the very beginning, I would never have found this server had it not been for you. Funny A1 guy, was always very [REDACTED]. To all my Research guys; You guys are part of a unique branch, and there's nothing more special about it, than the people in it. That goes for each branch. To all my Event Team lads; There's not a more fun experience for a game master than in the Event Team, keep it going and make some Code Reds! That's all for now, it was fun while it lasted. 35. “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.” – Dr. Seuss I dont know what to write here because I dont know if i can put into words how i feel at this moment. It's as if the last few years has been building up to this exact moment. Here, in the cold room of my apartment, i look at my keyboard and reflect on everything that has happened. My name is Robert Peterson. I am a 26 year old software developer from the United States of America. For the past two years i have led a double life. A life as a Researcher at a Facility dedicated to the containment of hostile monsters and entities. I studied those monsters and developed bonds with my fellow Researchers. I have climbed the ranks of Research to the very top. Looking back on all i have accomplished, it's hard to describe the feelings that flow. I first joined GamingLight SCP-RP in the summer of 2019. My main goal at the time was to interact with the SCP's on site and to play with them. I learned really fast that it wasn't as simple as i assumed it to be. Strict rules were in place and i had to follow them. I joined research in September of 2019. I was AWFUL for the first few months. I had no desire to follow any sort of rules or listen or even try to learn from Command. I was a loose cannon, a minge, a plague on the site. I would constantly try my hardest to annoy anyone and everyone who got in my way. When Protege got Lead researcher, i dragged him from meeting room down to 682's CC and threw him in. This was the first huge mistake on my end. I was scolded and reprimanded and nearly removed from the branch. I was demoted from Lead to Senior and I thought I had completely fucked my chances of ever getting command. Very soon after that i got PK'd and had to change my name to Tomato. That was strike two. I was basically on the door out. Command applications came and went, and i was denied again and again. I began to wonder if i was just wasting my time. Maybe i should just quit. No one on the server likes me. I don't have the talent or skills to be command. What is the point. I should just leave... And then i got command. Suddenly, I had responsibilities. Mass tests, trainings, gradings. I was scared, but through some force beyond my comprehension, I made it through. Not only that, but I began to build relationships with the people in command and enlisted. I wasn't just another face on the wall at meetings, i was a face that held some sort of respect in the community. Now granted i had a long way to go to get high command but through the summer of 2020 i was producing the best documents of my life and cranking out mass test after mass test like there was no tomorrow. The spark was at an all time high and I was for sure I was cruising towards high command. And it didn't fucking happen. I was beyond upset. So upset that i quit out of frustration. I was angry at Glados for getting AHOR at the time. I was angry at Weiss and Starstep and SMT and JMT and Admins and everyone. I quit, i had enough. No more getting fucked over. I'm out Goodbye... And wouldn't you know it, it broke my fucking heart to leave. Reading all the messages in my retirement post absolutely shattered my heart into pieces. The love i felt from strangers i have never met in real life was nothing short of magical. It was like nothing i have ever felt before. So i came back, and worked my way back up the ranks until August 8th, 2021 where i received the title of DHOR. That and landing my current job are some of the proudest days of my life. I walked, head held high, knowing i had done it. I had reached my goal on the server. And the spark died. I have done it all on this server. Every test, every conversation, every document. I ran out of ideas 6 months ago and have been burnt out for over a year at this point. I took an LOA last week for a few days and when it came time to get back on the server Sunday i realized............ I didn't want to get on the server. The spark i had is gone. The inspiration i had is gone. I haven't written a document in months. I have barley done any command logs in months. It's time for me to hang up the lab coat and step away. When i was a child i didn't have any friends. I was socially awkward and was dealing with un-diagnosed mental issues at the time (OCD, Autism). High school came and went and i managed to even make a few friends and get a girlfriend. College came and after 3 years i Proposed to my Girlfriend. Going into summer of 2016 i had it all. Then i found out she had cheated on me and left me. Then all my friends stopped talking to me. Then the next girl i tried dating was killed overseas attempting to provide aid to the people of Syria. My depression had reached an all time low at this point. So much so that one night i was sitting in my room.... Crying with a bottle of pills in my hand as i told my mom over the phone goodbye...... Thankfully, i didn't take them (Love you Mom!) and attempted to move on. But depression is an ugly beast. It rips and tears at you until you have nothing left and it gnaws at the bones of your soul and beats you down every day. From late 2016 to mid 2019 i barley spoke to anyone other than family. Then, by chance, i decided to buy Gmod and play some servers. I discovered SCP-RP and... ... I had people to talk to. People who listened. People i could joke with. People i could play games with. People who cared that were not my mom or dad or family. Hundreds of people i could talk to. It was all i every wanted. It was all i ever needed. I was happy. For the first time in years i was truly happy. I'm still truley happy. Im happy. At 12:20 AM CST On October 13th, 2021.....Im Happy. As is tradition, i want to mention people who i have been friends with or interacted with that have made an impact on me. These are in no order and i will be adding to this list over the next week. Glados-You have no clue how much your friendship means to me. Seeing you online is like a welcome beacon that means fun will be had. You are thoughtful and caring and such a wonderful human being. D - One of my closest friends on the server. One of the nicest human beings i have ever met. Your genuineness and thoughtfulness know no bounds and i look forward to years of gaming ahead with you. Moonrose - Honestly one of the best people i have ever met. You haven't even been here a year and the effort you put into this branch is insane. I respect you more than you could ever imagine. Eyelander - You have done an absolutly amazing job as a member of command and i fully expect you to be the next DHOR. Besides the cringe jokes that i give you way too much crap for, you are a fantastic person and i love having you around. Light - I stole your name. I admit it. Again, just a wonderful person to be around and you bring so much to any teamspeak channel you are in . snow, nydekore, grumpysharken, Daddy D Boi, and Will Nye - All fanstastic additions to this branch and i fully expect great things for you guys in the future. Keep your heads up and keep going strong. Alexan - Welcome back. I hope you have a great time back in research ~Nya~ Parkland - Keep up the fantastic work and i expect you to be command soon Zack Morden - One of the best people you will ever meet. Kind, caring, and thoughtful. You are a shining example of a member of this community. Jummy and Vlad/monika - I coul't be prouder of you two. I want you both to always remember that. I am so happy to call you guy's friends and I can't wait for more adventures in the future with you guys. Rhodes - One of my other close friends. I hope you are living your best life buddy. Such a wonderful person to be around Soviet - Welcome back. I will visit you one day at your work i promise. Another fantastic person to be around and a true friend Starstep - Still not sure if you are a robot or not. Besides that you are another awesome person to be around and chat with. Weiss - Fought for me every step of the way, and for that i can never truly repay you. One of the best people on the server and a great friend. Skela - I cannot wait to shake your hand and hand you $100 next year when you bench 275 lbs. A phenomenal human being and a good friend. Hoovy - I hated you at first. I really did. You PK's me and i hated you. But the more i got to know you the more i realized how much that PK saved my research career. Thank you. You are a good person! Zeeptian - Thank you from the bottom of my heart for creating this server. I will be adding more to this list so please don't lock it. Finally, I want to say this. Thank you all so much to the best gaming experience i have ever had. I love you all. -Robert 'Tomato' Peterson “We’ll meet again, Don’t know where, don’t know when, But I know we’ll meet again, Some sunny day.” – Vera Lynn

  36. Honestly, I never thought I would do this, I loved my time here and will never regret it., but now I think it's time I move to a new chapter of my life. I have been with GL for over a year and I enjoyed it all, but now with school, my social life, and other reasons I no longer have the motivation, time, or interest to get on the server. I have been thinking about resigning for a while, but now I am doing it. I will still get on the server every once in a while to play D-Class and vibe, and I will probably hop in TS here and there to talk/play games. Here are some peeps who made my experience at GL truly stand out, and if I don't write you down it's not cause I don't like you, but there are dozens, may be 100+ people who I've had good relationships with because of this server and can't put them all: Ingot: Best Manager Rang: Minge, hmu if you want to play COH2 or EoB Catsro: Trash at DBD Rookie: Thanks for giving me a shot at being a forum diplomat, it was a pleasure working with you Rektify: You minge you are boosted I swear, also get Head Admin soon Cutie. Fucking sandbagging people when running bond. rank 20 material. Phill: You are a furry, everyone knows. O5/Other SA: Thanks for the shot at Site Admin, pleasure working with you guys. Beanz: Bro man speedran Site Admin. Jackwebb: Weeb, don't deny it. Gensec/Research HCMD: It was also a pleasure to work with you all and good luck for the DoRS spot Utility Gang: My OG branch, will still play Baro with you guys, I won't blow up the sub I promise. Shock: Sorry I'm leaving you guys so soon, best branch. To all Command: You guys are the lifeblood of the server and keep going at it, you all play such a major role in what makes GL the best community. To Everyone: I got DoRS, you guys can get anything, put effort into your branch and you will do well. All the people I got to meet changed my life, so thank you everyone for what you guys have done. So, thank you guys, and see you around.

  40. As most of you are aware, one of our superadmins, and most recently senior moderator for accuracy, nimo, resigned from his position as the latter rank due to an abundance of reasons, some even expressed in his resignation post. Unfortunately, some people would rather use this as a chance to bully and harass him, with some of them even being staff... Let me make this very... VERY clear to everyone. Bullying and harssment are taken very seriously over here at GL. This is a safe spot for alot of players t come and make friends and help a new community grow. As soon as you remove the friendly nature of our community, it no longer acts as that safe place. I am utterly disgusted by the lack of maturity that has been displayed by our community in regards to this resignation Any member/staff member from here on out who bullies, harasses, demeans, or puts down Nimo in regards to his resignation will be permanantly removed from this community. This goes for bullying and harassment in general Best Regards, Snar & the entire Gaminglight SMT division.

  41. Welp, i'm sure most of you saw this coming, but I am resigning, for the second time. I have no idea if i'll ever come back but at the very least i'll try and hop on every couple weeks or something and see how shits going. I hope I did those who came before me proud, and I wish those who come after the best of luck. I'm not going to write out a bunch of personal messages on here because I'll miss all of you and that's way to many names to remember. So i'll see you all later I hope, bye bye.

  42. Incorrect. This is not a bride. It is a fee. This has been the norm for about 3 years now. We usually give people a fee that is an estimate (made by SMT) of how much it would cost us in resources (our time primarily) having this person back in the server. When making the estimate for this person in particular, we also did include the fact that this isn't the first time that we have dealt with this player being blacklisted. That is why it is significantly higher which was approved by myself and other SMT. If you do not agree with this then I encourage you to utilize the disconnect function of Garry's Mod.

  43. Well back when I started on the server I thought I was going to be able to stick around for longer but that has changed. I have been on a LOA up until now so you might've been wondering where I have been or you might not. Over the past few weeks I've been getting overwhelmed by my school work and stuff surrounding my life have been getting more and more stressful. I barely find time to play during the day and most of it is spent with my RL friends. I won't go into much more detail about it. This server has been great, I've met a lot of fun people and we've had some amazing moments but its time for me to head off. But the server seems to have changed, in some way it has lost... itself, if that makes any sense to you. I just don't enjoy it anymore. The RP has died out to a minimum, it's all about "PvP" and who's going to get the more "OP" branch update so that they can dominate over the others. This is just my opinion and the way I've noticed it has been for the past few months. Someday, in the future, I might return but that will probably be in a few years or so, if the server is still a thing by that point. I was going to mention people that I've had the best times with but I decided against it. Firstly because the post would turn into a 4 page essay and I'm sure no one wants to read through that. Secondly, I don't want to point certain people out and then forget about others and make them feel like I've had no enjoyable experiences with them. I'm only going to say that I appreciate everyone's help during my time in each branch, you are all amazing people with a mass amount of creativity and are the core factor that keeps the server running and pushing it even further beyond(haha, funny old meme reference, haha). Anyway, I just wanted to thank all of you and say my last goodbye with this post. I hope you all achieve your goals within the server and get to the position you want to be in your respective branch. 44. Alright so I don't know why these kind of posts keep turning into literal civil wars, but I'm growing super tired of it. Consider this everybody's warning to either cool it with each-other in future posts or In RP punishments will be given out to players involved. It's getting extremely tiring to have to do this with almost every branch update and every suggestion that could change a branch for the better if you give it a shot. PLEASE ONLY COMMENT PLUS OR MINUS SUPPORTS.

  45. I'm going to attempt to say this in a way that reflects my beliefs on this situation, without offending anybody. Here's my take: First of all, this happened a month ago. Not saying when it happens has anything to do with the ethics of what was being said, but it brings into question the validity of this report. Not only does it taint the chances that this report is being made for the right reason, but your excuse for it not being brought up earlier is what I would like to call a "cop out". If his comments offended you to the degree that is being implied with this report, you would have reported it right away. I don't really understand the whole "blackmail" or "harassment" worries because if something like this is truly wrong, there would be no reason for people to "harass" you about complaining about it. If there's something I don't know about, then please inform me, however the only reason I could see you holding this information back for so long is for personal gain. Secondly, I don't even think we have all the context on this situation. If you would like to share the DMs you and him exchanged before and after this conversation, I would love to weigh in on those. Thirdly, I don't find his comments blatantly racist. Based on the screenshots provided, the only thing I can see that would be "questionable" would be his comment where he said racism was a result of "the black race". Even with that statement, while not politically correct, it is not racist. Racism , per the Merriam Webster Dictionary Definition is "a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race". In basic terms, that means holding the belief that one race is superior to another, or a race is inferior than the rest. This is not what he was saying. I'm not saying what he said was right, or that I hold the same belief that he does, what I'm trying to do is see it from both perspectives. Fourthly, what this really seems like it is to me, is two people from the complete opposite side of the political spectrum going at each other. If you've ever been on twitter, which I'm sure most of you have, you see this kind of thing all the time. You two clearly have extremely different viewpoints on the world, and neither of you are right or wrong. Neither of your worldview's are "correct" because politics is not that black and white. This is so obviously just someone from the far right, arguing with someone from the far left, and while some of the comments made were insensitive and possibly hurtful, they are his beliefs. With that being said I'm not going to leave a +support or a -support on this post, because all I am attempting to do with this is bring more perspective into this situation. You can read my thoughts and form your own opinion based on all the information provided on this report.
