  1. There have been recent events between these two branches has caused the relations between the two to crumble. This event, has caused so many problems for both sides, CI's reputation has fallen back into the zone of toxicity, security trust in CI has been broken beyond repair. Security is seen as childish by CI, and CI have dished out punishments towards gensec command just to spite them. Both sides have been immature to an extent and there is a river of toxicity between the two. With this post, i just want both sides to get a message from one another. I say this as an Ex-Sergeant major in gensec, and as the Assistant Head of Research in CI. I'm sorry this is kind of relationship you guys have, where toxicity has become the norm. I mean for this post to be a bridge between that river, i want our sides to at least have a decent relationship that can have healthy communication and most importantly, compromise. I've spoken to multiple people about the most recent situation, even those who weren't involved, and after that, the only thing that can calm both sides down, is compromise. With compromise comes understanding on both sides, an understanding that i wish to archive so that the toxicity may stop, even for a little while. I honestly hate seeing situations like this, where both sides despise each other, down to the personnel level, and i just hope to achieve some type of understanding with this post.

  2. I will say this. I'm not responding to this to point fingers at specific people here. I don't care about my personal feelings here, nor do most of the people reading this, I'm sure. But I will say this much: a LOT of my command members have complained about the toxicity that has been emanating from various other branches on the server, and it has absolutely ruined the fun of the server for them. Now, I'm not absolving my branch of any guilt here, I'm sure we've had our share of being toxic. But I do not think that I am wrong when I say that GENSEC is often getting the short end of the stick on this server, most especially in the way that we are treated and looked at by other branches. We have a reputation that was created LONG before I even logged onto the server, and it seems like, no matter what I do, we cannot get away from the reputation I inherited. That frustrates me to no end. I get that this is just a game and people are allowed to do whatever they want within reason and within the rules, but if it's getting to the point where other people are completely disinterested in the game because they feel like they'd rather not deal with the toxicity, hasn't it gone too far? I'm tired of getting on and finding some new bullshit drama unfolding. It's become childish and pointless. We have conversations like this ALL the time, every meeting we have seems to involve something along the lines of: "ok guys let's be less toxic pls!!" So, clearly something is wrong here. There's only so much people can take. People are SO ride-or-die for their own branch, they develop these toxic opinions about every other branch, and we look at each other as different when we're all just part of the same community. I can admit that I am guilty of that, as well. But I am working to improve that. We took a step in the right direction with our joint PT a couple of weeks ago, but it feels like we've taken so many steps backward since then. I do also realize that regardless of what is said here, likely nothing will change. Maybe this is a step in the right direction, but I dunno. Anyway, all this to say, to anyone reading this: if you have any specific issues with any member of Security, feel free to message me on Discord at any time. Ideally with proof so I can take action.   4. Okay everyone, It's clear that some steps need to be taken to squash this beef, as it has started to get out of hand. C'mon everyone, I know we can all get along better than this-- it breaks my heart when things get this divided on our little island. We're all one community, and we each have very important roles to fill in the ecology of roleplay and combat our server has to offer. Bringing toxicity into our actions as a way to respond to others, no matter what branch we're part of or whatever disagreements we've had, or however wrongly we feel we've been treated, is never appropriate. Resorting to saying or doing things to simply "get back" at people who have upset us is wrong, and only continues the cycle and bad thoughts people have about one another. This needs to stop, and this mindset needs to change. It goes against everything the Gaminglight community stands for. I understand that the combat-related aspects of the server can lead to some competitive emotions, but this has evolved into some rather unnecessary tribalism and it gets easy to forget that even though we may be in different branches, we are still all part of one community. We need to focus on bringing all branches' mindsets back to the fact that we are all Fam in this gaminglight server, hear me? We're all gonna have to be willing to step up and do whatever it takes to swing these feelings back in the right direction, which is possible as long as we're all on board together to communicate better. Change always starts with the first person to say "This isn't worth it" and just choose forgiving over getting even. I'm hoping the meeting set for today will help set a foundation for fixing some of these issues moving forward.

I was not present when the whole issue was raised with security and ci, the main issue I have is because the command members are beefing this also effects the NCOs and enlisted server experience. One of my RND member who was not involved with the situation was being laughed and shit talked by multiple security command because he died while he was playing d-class because he was apart of CI. Not to say its only security's fault other ci command have just been as bad, I find it appalling and just childish that certain command members from multiple branches have caused a toxic environment for people who aren't even involved! More stronger punishments must be handed out to the people who cant keep there toxicity to them selves, because my whole RND branch are being effected by the toxicity meaning they wont hop on the server, which doesn't help when my branch is not as significant in size as other branches.

(150 Word Minimum) Without a doubt, being a senior admin has given me everything I should have needed to be satisfied on the server but, fortunately or unfortunately, this is not the case. My want and desire to improve and expand my skills in how I handle issues in-game, with people or in real life has only grown more and more ever since I have obtained this rank. When I was applying for senior admin, I thought that would be the stopping point of my staff career but, with all sincerity, I genuinely want to assist in improving the server in any way I can. I tend to find little loopholes within the system, whether it’s staffing, roleplaying, etc., that I have helped fix and I have assisted and coached lower ranking staff members with their sits whenever they needed it. When given the opportunity, I am quick when responding to members in need, staff or not, with any problems that they have no matter how menial. With nearly six months (from this post) as Senior Admin and my experience in an honorable MTF high command position, I have been able to cultivate my ability to handle a variety of situations and some involving branch-related issues. When speaking with another individual/group of individuals, I have always presented myself as a charismatic, friendly yet assertive person that will put my foot down when I feel like something is wrong, no matter who they are. However, I also grant people the respect of listening to them and their point of views since even staff can be wrong. I wish to continue being a role model for anyone who looks up to me and to set a fine example of how a proper staff/community member should present themselves. I am highly active on the forums and teamspeak, which makes it easier for staff members to come and ask me anything they’d like when needed. I spend a lot of time in-game, staying up for hours to assist multiple players that may hop on during different time zones and putting forth the very best that I can do. Even when I am under stress, I am typically able to contain it and to keep a rather calm composure but, as humans should, even I slip every now and then. Yet, as a bona fide staff member, I will continue to give that same respect of listening and constructive discussions with whomever I am speaking with. For those that know me and for those who are reading this, I hope you understand that I will always try to do the utmost in my power to give everyone a positive time, whether it’s speaking with me or playing in our game. Lastly, I would personally like to be a bridge between normal players and the management team. To be a link that may bring about a happier community and to grow a stronger bond between the two. Gaminglight has been the longest community I have ever been with and I desire to make it better.I’m pretty proud to say that I am a member of this group, filled with players that all want to enjoy themselves. I hope you take this application into consideration. Thank you. 16. How would you handle someone that is Mass RDMing and when you bring him/her to an admin sit all they do is curse at you? If I find someone Mass RDMing, I would immediately pull them into a staff room. As soon as they begin to curse at me, I would probably spark some dialogue and ask what’s going on and why they want to cause a disturbance? If I can calm the player, I may be able to deescalate the situation, explain to them what they did wrong and why I have to hand them a ban. If they are not calming down and continue to curse at me, I would gag them and freeze them in case they decide to do anything rash. I would proceed by checking their warn history and, more than likely, handing them a warn for Mass RDM and Staff Dissing. From there, I would tell them that they will be banned for 5 days due to the mass RDM and consider their total warnings if it reaches a certain threshold on top of the Mass RDM ban. If they leave the sit (LTAP), this will add an extra 3 days to their ban as well. 17. Please pick and answer one of the questions only if applying for Senior Moderator. If applying for Admin pick two and answer them. If applying for Senior Admin you must answer all three. Answering more than the required amount of questions for the rank you are applying for will result in your application being denied. Q1: You are involved in a staff sit that involves 5 different players. The players begin to get frustrated and the sit becomes very toxic and unproductive. What would you do in this situation? I would first pull everyone involved in the situation into one of the three staff rooms. Next, I would try to figure out what the situation is and how to best de escalate the problem. If the players become toxic and the sit seems to be going nowhere, I would first mute/gag those that do not comply with my easy requests. Once I have everyone settled, I would check the logs to see what the situation was and possibly give a warning to the players that broke any MOTD rule, or possibly a verbal depending on their maturity in the sit. After the punishments are given, I would ask everyone to stay away from each other as to avoid any confrontations like these again and return them all. Q2: In your opinion, what is the best way to handle a situation involving a player that clearly does not care about the punishments they are receiving? I would simply hand them the punishment that fits the staff handbook and return them if they are still in-game by the end of the sit. I would rather not add gasoline to the fire. Q3: There is a player abusing a known bug, and he has been reported to staff. He swears he followed the server rules when you talk with him. What's the best way to handle this? I must check if there is evidence that he abused the bug first. Without video evidence or staff witness, we would only be pointing fingers. However, if there is proof, then the player would be brought into a sit and I would explain that I have evidence of it. Usually, I’m quite forgiving and, depending if they apologize to staff for lying, they may get a formal warn or a verbal. I would include the fact that they exploited a bug in the warn and jail the player for 300-600 seconds, depending on the severity of the issue. If they are abusing the bug even after their jailed punishment, it could end up as a ban.

(Across all Gaminglight Servers):1 Why should we allow you to be an Event Team Member (150+ Words)?:There is 3 main reasons that i think i would be "allowed" in event team.The first one being that i know how to semi work admin commands because well i was admin on other servers.So i have learned to not do "!slay/bring am" because the odds of only 1 out of 80 people having "am" in there RP/Steam name is not the best.Also to well not noclip into people because thats never fun being stuck in some invisible marsh mellow person.The second being that i was told that im creative when it comes to making ideas apparently and well due to it being Event team i would think that creativity is important for better ideas or situation handling and what not.The third and honestly the most important in my opinion being that people have suggested that i should apply for ET because i could help with events and making up ideas.There are a few little reasons like being apart of a few events so i know a few things about it or well me playing a lot on the server but its small details. Describe an event you could create (The more specific the better):Ill give 2.Firstly if there is not a lot of players on/most are AFK i would do a basic event of a TDM where there will be 3 rounds.Round 1 will be a normal TDM last team to live wins of course if would be in town with some props to spice things up and if it gets to a stalemate or people don't find each other i'll spawn in a gun at the middle of town and announce that a (gun) is in the middle of town.Round 2 will be a capture the flag best out of 3 where the flag would be a prop so that at least 2 people have to carry it because well the one carrying it won't have a gun so that people don't just sneak around each other .Round 3 will be a Duck hunt King of the hill basically finding an object/person and standing in that area for a 3-5 mins to win or kill everyone on the other team 2 times. If there are a lot of people on I would or do a SCP event or GOI event. The SCP one might be 053 at first before i try any other because honestly i haven't seen any SCP-053 events or maybe i'm just never on when people do events because its 3 am for me.I would basically start by announcing that 053 is in Temp euclid and all AR+ are free to test on me or JR with perms.When someone comes i'll handle the situation from there. If they bring a d class to test on me just normally i would act to him like a normal 9 year old girl make him play with me and my toys colour in and we'll talk.After 2 minutes (i'm not gonna waste 20 mins of someone's time) of him being in the same room as me or well close to me i would well make him hurt me and that entire painful death happens or well if he looks into my eyes before those 2 minutes.Going from there if the guard or researcher was also close to the test cell like AT the window they would fall under the effect if they only stood there for long they would "break the window" or at least attempt to and then harm me causing death and well now the foundation has a 9 year old free. IF they keep distance however it would be like a normal SCP in her cell being able to test on.Maybe someone would even think of an 059 and 682 cross test but we all know that it will end in a breach.If there's no researchers on to actually test i would rather try a temp GOI on site.Like the sarkic cultist maybe give a little bit of a RP introduction before they are fully added like starting with raiding foundation/CI and capturing someone to sacrifice.Maybe if enough MTF are on we could make some of the Sarkics go in there "abomination form" to spice things up or well stick to the sacrificial rituals to the Flesh. Dont really want to a big Sarkic event where we "summon" the Scarlet prince or make a wormhole from hell and make "demons" come to Site 05 and destroy everything.The event will or end in the Sarkic going off-site due to nobody else being "worthy" or well they all die a horrible death.   16. I'll just say this: This shits a game and there's better stuff to get mad about. Also, I'd strongly recommend that the people who are engaging in this toxicity join the branch that they don't like. Every side views something a certain way, and the only way for you to understand those views are by immersing yourself into their position. I think I've been in every branch and promoted at least once in every branch by now, and it's definitely helped me a lot in understanding others.

IIRC I took on the sit regarding the throwing knives and ended on a verbal due the complications of hearsay and no previous record. I believe he deserves a more formal punishment.

And I had discussed with multiple people involved and came to the same conclusion. The evidence that I had there shows that you did in fact hit him multiple times and I had multiple different peoples accounts of harassment by yelling at them. Nail regarding the sit in the conduct of it when I pulled you in I was telling you these are the reasons why I’m taking you in here and speak to you and then before I could finish explaining each reason you were already cutting me off and trying to tell me everything that you thought was wrong about it then I told you to allow me to finish so I can at least tell you everything that was wrong with it and then after that I was listening to each topic you discussed but then after you started repeating the same thing over and over how you didn’t do that I then called in and then went and spoke to multiple people and the specific party who brought you in SCP 173. I do believe the warning should still stand because of the conduct that you showed during the actual event and as well hell you were interacting with myself after the fact and I would like to note that I was as well sitting and hovering watching that hallway and did see everything that was occurring at that time so.   34. If I remember correctly you were not just throwing Molotov's, you were throwing them with the intent of crashing the server, you were not issued a ban for the reason that you were only trying to crash it to restart it and fix the lag (also checked with Hoovy just to make sure, he confirmed)

  36. Mini, 173/106/343 are the easiest SCP’s to abuse on, so they are the most regulated, for lack of a better word. While it does seem a little harsh to blacklist over 3 warns I view it as giving them 3 chances on SCP’s that are constantly abused and them messing up every time. -Support, I understand that at the time you were new so you didn’t read the rules, but by closing the MOTD you agree to follow the rules, so that is not a valid excuse.

EDIT: now lean towards -Support because I though it was just the fact of me not being in MTF for not seeing you but I guess not, not the smartest move to make a Staff App after a LOA, besides that if you make a Staff App once you are a little more active I think you will be good.

  44. So yea cogs good job finally speaking about this. As a utility boy I've been blessed by not being totally thrusted into being into drama, that's one reason why I love utility so much. But as I have spread my horizon and ventured a little more to gensec, was apart of CI for a little, and now in E11 these drama outburst have been more frequent, or just came to light for me more often. What I think is people are still thinking gensec is the same gensec from past time. From 9 months ago from when I first joined, was ignored by gensec and MTF as a technician. As well as being as well ignored by security 5 months ago as a medic, as well as being literally harassed by gensec before. In my time at medical I've had multiple accounts of security harassing medics for 1 reason or another, BUT with this new hcmd I'm yet to receive 1 complaint and nothing but good remarks towards security. I have forgiven security for what they used to do as they have clearly changed, and as a medic I work the closest with security besides maybe research. If I can forgive them for literally harassing medics and myself at 1 point I think CI can and I think they can learn that they are not the gensec of old. Also there is a constant remark upon CI members, that one remark is that CI command is corrupt on the forums and in general. I can see how it can be perceived as this but I also believe that it is extremely over hyped. I feel if the HCMD from both branches come together to vent out their complaints then we can all work together for the betterment of the people this actually effect, the non-command members and low command members. I think to leave pettiness out of all conversation and to speak hard cold facts is the only way to repair this terribly broken relationship. I wish both sides the best of luck for repairing this bridge that has been melted away from the pure hate of each other and pettiness. I wish that this bridge can be rebuilt and improved by the command now and strengthened by command to come. Good Luck!

He releases me not really saying anything just basically "fuck off dont be in the intersection" after he leaves i run back in there, i was yelling at stale a bit in my confusion of what was going on, he wouldnt answer back just saying "move move" eventually zeus just asked me to move on until i just gave up and left, when abotu 5-10 minutes later, joseph pulls me to a sit tells me exactly what happened, wouldnt let me explain much. He then went to "speak to zeus" and left me frozen in a corner for about 5 minutes before coming back.
